Didymus the Blind (c. 313 - 398), a Greek speaking theologian from Alexandria, in his commentary on Ecclesiastes, recounts the pericope of the woman caught in adultery and says it is found “in certain gospels.” Jerome came to him for a month in order to have his doubts resolved with regard to difficult passages of Scripture. Bing searches While this is circumstantial. I feel it is probable Jerome asked him about the PA and we know where Jerome put the PA in John. Peace

I heard the MLV is pretty good its a open source bible KJV has another update called the Simplified KJV Bible its suppose to be more close to the Original KJV than the NKJV
Irenaeus Adv. haer 5 30-35 talks of a variant around AD 90. Variant in the number 666 in revaluations. Copyist error 656. And Irenaeus quotes the curse verse if the error is intentional. I can post a link if you would like to see probably the very first instance of textual criticism
The worst interpretation I have heard of for this exact passage is a Chinese legal textbook that blatantly changed the ending to say that Jesus stoned the woman saying that he is a sinner (!!!), with the point being that the law has to be enforced by imperfect people......
2 thessalonians 2 Matthew 24 Mark 19 etc etc. The 2nd coming will not take place until after the tribulation meaning testing. Please observe for yourselves. It is the same in revelations where the Son of Man will not return until the man of lawlessness is revealed. There is no pretribulation rapture my friends. Nor scripture saying you can escape being tested...

John used chiastic structure to write this section in his Gospel. The woman caught in adultery are an integral part.

"taken in adultery", so, begs the question, where is the other one "taken" as it takes two to commit adultery.

From Tynedale to the KJV, it is there. It is only the Alexandrian texts that are missing words and verses.
