TRS2019 - The 20th Century Approaches

- The New York Central Railroad's 20th Century Limited was once one of the most famous trains in the US and the world. In 1938, it received a new streamlined look with the railroad's famous J3a Hudson locomotives, also sporting the new art-deco streamlining, leading the grey, blue, and white consist. It's been said freight and other slower passenger trains would be put into sidings miles ahead and wait for minutes to an hour on end just to let the 20th Century pass. The train had to be on-time if it wanted to be the first into Chicago or New York City, and beat the Pennsylvania Railroad's Broadway Limited. In this story I've written, a rather experienced engineer is paired up with a relatively new fireman whose not been out on the Water Level Route yet. The fireman has also yet to see the new 20th Century Limited in his position on the railroad, and also hasn't seen it at speed. Safe to say, he's rather looking forward to it when they have to pull into a siding to allow the train to pass.
Thanks to my good friend m00ter for voicing the fireman:

Heya! So this will be my last video in Trainz 2019 before I switch over to Trainz 22 (assuming the game isn't a broken and buggy mess and I'm able to transfer everything without major issues) so I wanted to write a story for the occasion. Let me know what you think of it!
It made me think would I be better off writing one-off, individual stories about sentient or non-sentient (in this video's case) trains and people instead of confining myself to a series, what do you think? A series of individual unrelated stories, or having 1 series? Anyway, thanks for watching like usual! Big thanks to my good friend m00ter for voicing the fireman! ( th-cam.com/users/m00teronyoutube )
I got that new Trainz Simulator not too long ago, still learning how to play, and how to buy new locomotives and equipment, I wonder how I’m going to buy new equipment.
I can definitely see a series coming from this video
Does anyone know how to buy new equipment from Trainz Railroad Simulator 2022?
I just want to say bravo & well done on this 👏 it is quite beautiful
& i dare say yes, I think you should do one-off stories
Unrelated stories.
"You think we can catch up to the Century?"
NYC 2222: *Oh god please no*
This was such a great story! I was shivering the entire time the Century stole the show, keep it up Jared!
The New York Central’s 20th Century time line area is pretty cool, there is the new Trainz Railroad Simulator 2022 that I had got. Very cool operations of the NYC, and engine crew talking in the cab of a beautiful steam locomotive. The New York Central Hudson’s are amazing, despite none sadly preserved, with only Hudson 5213’s tender at Steamtown National Historic Site, we could’ve had the rest of the locomotive preserved there, so that there wouldn’t be none in existence. But anyway, it’s always a great video, along with the others in your TH-cam channel. I’m also going to the Roaring Camp & Big Trees Narrow Gauge Railroad tomorrow next month.
I love the reference to the Breakneck tunnel, I’ve railfanned there many a time! Nowadays it’s pretty much only Amtrak and Metro North (unless you’re out there at like 2 or 3 in the morning, when you might see a CSX train coming through) but it’s still a great location. Loved the storyline and videography, as always! Keep up the great work, and thanks for sharing!!
Goodness, the sound of that whistle at 6:01 is gorgeous!
So beautiful.
It's such a shame all the streamlined Hudsons are gone. I would literally cry if I saw one speed by in real life.
Because of how Beautiful they are.
if we can do the T1, we can make a dreyfuss and a few passenger cars
This is probably my favorite video by you The cinematography is great in this video the run buys on the farmers field with the silo and the lake shots are just top tier the voice lines are just amazing two
Cinematography I don’t know if that is the right word to use might be videography I don’t know but it is spectacular
I still love how TRS2019 looks, it makes me wish that my laptop could handle more than Trainz 12.
Same I'm stuck with old trains models from 2010's trainz a new era
I orginally got Trainz 19 but every train I took over 60 mph it would crash the game and so I had to switch to Trainz: A New Era.
@@SoutheastPARailfan dam that sounds bad
@@an_asian_guy TANE is still good for today’s standards.
And it came out in 2015
I love the whistle of the freight train.
Good to know the fireman fulfilled his dream
Part of me was kinda expecting a 'x years later' scene where the fireman has either ended up driving a diesel and/or is working on Penn Central and never got his chance to run the Hudsons or the 20th Century Limited.
There is one overlooked item,in this little vignette! The NYC,back in the day,ran multiple sections of trains, usually on a ten minute headway, and especially on major holidays! The Century, and most heavy main trains were some of the notorious ones, and they ran non-stop,between major cities, and don't forget also, that they ran on 4 track mains! The line between Toledo and Elkhart was the area, where any time lost was made up,as there was a 120 mile per hour speed limit, and that done with jointed rails! The Pennsylvania had the equivalent between Crestline and Pittsburgh, and with a similar type speed limit!! Hope this adds to your computer simulation,as there was more going on,than met the eye!! Thanks again for your time and effort 👌 ,real nice story, and that Mike was well done! Class H-6?? Thanks 😊!!
Absolutely magnificent story, and some of the shots of the 20th Century Limited are just Absolutely Beautiful.
[insert James Coffey's “Ghosts of the Rails” here]
6:11 the music just fits the scene my god
I'd be scared as hell to hear the whistle of a streamlined J3a Hudson near some tracks in a forest.
The locomotives and rolling stock and scenery graphics are superb, but the crew figures renderings are still in 1993.
they are called low poly for a reason
@@abean1715
Sure, but why they were still around in 2019?
@@arrow1414 idk
@@arrow1414 people complain about low poly figurines in trainz for some reason
This is beautiful
That’s Right.
“The Rocket Line of the Time century.”
Fantastic stuff. Love to see more of these short stories.
The Dreyfuss Hudsons were so badass looking
That was amazing! It's such a shame none of the Hudsons were preserved.
There are a few preserved, don't think any of the NYC's made it though.
Don’t You Guys Worry, cause in my Headcannon,5344 is Preserved and Operational
I love these trains! Especially the 20th Century Limited.
Incredible .... But make a video about the empire state express I love this train video about it's so hard to find on TH-cam thanks
This was a very lovely story I loved it!
Beautifully made! Well done, dude!
This was superbly done‼️👍🏾
You blink, you miss it!
Awesome job Jared
Bravo! Bravo! great story love it!
Loved that so much. Gave me a idea for a future movie on my channel
The New York Central. You can still see it’s impact and remains of my home region. Onondaga County, where Syracuse sits in the middle. We still have the elevated station platforms where US-481 now runs and a big J3a Dreyfuss mural covers the wall as the misty steam swirls on that brick face. Wish I could have seen a Dreyfuss Ghost myself. Perlman was a cruel man for taking our Mohawk’s, Niagara’s, and gleaming chrome Hudson’s. But we have pieces like the mural where the true folks of the New York Central remember their story.
Your 'Perlman' comment is 100% BS - learn the facts
Amtrakguy, Would you ever consider releasing the reskinned NYC Mikado on your website and would you ever think of making a series following the firemen's life up the ranks of the railroad? Just 2 questions I thought I would ask because they were in my head.
How do you get such great shots in Trainz2019??? These are great!
I wish I could record in Trainz2022 but all my stuff was broken so I couldn't use it
I would love to help voice one of these sometime.
Sometimes I wish that that I was born during the Golden age of steam
beautiful, more of this please.
I'm bringing steam back and this is gonna be one of the first
I know the engines weren't preserved, but were the coaches scrapped too?
I believe one of two are preserved possibly
Excellent video, AmtrakGuy365 :)
So... The Q&A video is delayed due to some mishaps right? If it is, i don't mind, take your time.
I don't release my Q&A answer videos right after the question deadline is over. I still need to sort through which questions I want to answer and then actually record audio and get some background footage. The answer videos are typically pretty long so maybe I'll get it done in the next few weeks or month. Depends on how motivated or lazy I'm feeling lol
@@AmtrakGuy365 like i said, take your time dude. It's fine, as long as you're on the mood for making it, and no one is rushing you, it's fine.
Wonderful!!
Nice Video
Hey Jared, sort of random but, where did you get that NYC caboose for the freight train? Is it a custom private model and/or texturing, or is it available to download somewhere? Thanks in advance.
its on the dls i think
Wow that's very cool train I like it amtrguy365
6:01 made my cry honestly
Wow… I don’t know what to say! But if I could make a video recommendation, it is to make a video like this, but with the Hiawatha!
Awesome
Amazing story
model of the mikado?
Nice.
Awesome!
Ngl 6:11- 7:00 nearly made me tear up
When will the Q&A starts

Think how about how many people thought they’d grow up to work on steam locomotives just to work on a diesel or electric one
nice
Epic poggers
NICE!!!
Wow just wow
Wow
Nice
A true bed time story
Wouldn't you like to talk about snowpiercer?
or train movies in general :v
What screen recorder do you use?
OBS Studio
@@AmtrakGuy365 Thanks!
NYC freight trains: average speed
NYC passenger trains: ridiculous speed
Freight 68mph - Passenger 78mph
