praying to god this guy can learn to shoot with this new shooting coach. If he does than we might have the perfect player we needed, if not we can use him or ausar as trade pieces
I started to break down his film a couple weeks ago after hearing how high you were on him. I fell in love with his fire and aggression. He’s got a chance to be our best player. He and Ausar with the best shot doctor in basketball is a recipe for success. Idk how good we will be early on but damn we will be fun to watch. Holland has next level intensity and athleticism.
Rock good call lol you definitely called it! 💯 i thought they would take a scoring small forward wing like cody or matas. Good stuff😎, i think Ron will be fine.
Great take! Best I have heard on this pick. I'd go even a bit further and say we don't have a true star player and Holland's ceiling is just that. I think he will improve his shooting, get bigger and even stronger, and become an elite scorer and defender in time.
I think so too! Playing behind Ausar in a limited role should allow him to play to his strengths and develop without the pressure of saving a franchise. He’ll fill a position of need and contribute to winning immediately which should only boost his confidence further. Playing between shooters in Fontecchio, Grimes, and Sasser will also open the floor up for his slashing, such a great fit!
Out of the 6 players you named only one of them can really shoot, Cade Cunningham. And even his 3 point percentage isn't that high. Beef Stew improved on his 3s but he still seems to be a reluctant shooter. And Jaden Ivey? He's a hot and cold shooter. So basically we're going to have 5 starters on the floor with potentially 4 of them who can't shoot. Then, whether it's Holland, who can't shoot 3s or Stew, who's not inclined to shoot them will come off the bench. Sounds Great! That's the way to start the season.
I think you are overrating the G-League big time and the Ignite went 2-32 this year. I'm hoping for the best but I don't see him as anymore than a not as good Tari Eason
1. Tari Eason may be big time! 2. The G-League is literally comprised of NCAA all-stars. 3. Wins are not the objective of the Ignite team, it’s development, and Ron Holland took a HUGE leap from high school to the G-League.
Honestly, I hate this pick. You just can't play this many guys who can't shoot. I have zero faith in Vinson coaching any of our non shooters into being acceptable shooters. It's VERY rare for non shooters to develop a good enough shot in the league
Cade Quickley Fontechio Ausar A defensive anchor veteran ? Bench Pg.Sasser Sg. Sign gary trent Sf. Sign Caleb Martin Pf . Ron holland C. Jalen Duren Hire Sam cassell to be the head coach
You don't just bring in a shooting coach and all of a sudden all your players who are horrible at shooting can all of a sudden shoot the ball. It's actually EXTREMELY rare that a non shooter develops a serviceable shot in the league, and if you look at the Pistons historically for youth player development, it's non existent. The odds that this works out are slim to none.
I think Holland will be successful in Detroit because of all his other attributes aside from 3pt shooting. I also believe he will extend his smooth midrange jump shot to the 3pt line. Besides the shooting coach was brought in to improve Cade and Ivey’s shooting efficiency 4-6% which would change things jurrastically for this team.
@@therockneverstops8261 I'm just so disappointed we didn't get Cody Williams or Knecht, and I don't believe shooting is really something you can coach enough to make a difference. This is just my opinion though
The coach that was brought in came to improve Cade, Ivey, and Ausar’s 3pt shooting. That’s who is going to change the trajectory of this franchise, not the rookie. Ron Holland will be asked to play to his strengths as an energy wing behind Ausar playing defense, getting out in transition, and attacking the rim.

Yeah you did say it a couple weeks ago I heard you, i like the pick 2way threat!

Cody and Matas were far too light in the pants under 200lbs…

Yup
I do remember you saying that Ron Holland was going to the Pistons. I hope that Fred Vinson can help him and Ausar Thompson improve their shooting.
If Ausar is able to raise his 3pt shooting league average over the next two seasons then he will become a monster!
@@therockneverstops8261 I agree bro!
Sound like McGrady to me.
A lot of people had him 2 on their board
He has the second most upside only behind Alex Sarr
Cade
Ivey
Holland 2
Asuar
Duren
Beef stew 6 man
I don’t see Ron starting unless there’s an injury.
Fronttechio starting

Ron Holland is NOT a non-shooter. This tells me you did very little research on him before making this comment.
Ron holland is great scorer as Giannis A who can’t shoot but both shoot 3pt %28. We need him so bad and right fit with pistons.
Now we need a defensive anchor at the center position!! Trade Ivey & stew .. sign Immanuel quickly for a nice bag

See my video on the Pistons already having the shooting they need, they just need an offensive scheme and continuity to generate better shots.
