      @@SecretLifeOfASeamstress I live in a dry desert climate and static is often a problem, but usually worst with dresses I haven't lined. I've tried sprays that are supposed to help with static with limited success. I've made several dresses and usually use a lightweight lining which helps to keep the tendency to cling to a minimum.

    Love your dress - it’s gorgeous! Try spraying hairspray onto your legs or tights - strange I know, but it works. If you dry your fabric in a tumble drier use a tumble drying sheet or roll up a 3” wide ball of foil.

      Oh wow how weird might be worth a try though thanks so much and thank you for watching I’m glad you like the dress 😊 x

    Sally, the static is usually because the air is dry and your skin is dry. I rub body lotion on the areas that are causing the static such as your arms and legs. Try that and see if it helps.

    The dress has turned out beautifully Sally, I love it and the fabric looks really lovely on you. I think 🤔 there’s an anti static spray, but I’m afraid I don’t have a product name. Certainty worth a bit of research. I’ve really enjoyed these last two videos. Thank you for sharing them with us x

    Your dress looks lovely on you. I hate static too, nothing worse than taking off your sweater and your hair stands on end! It’s always worse in the winter so we use fabric softener in the wash if we are going to hang dry and a fabric sheet in the dryer if the clothes are being dried that way. We also use “Static Guard” spray if we haven’t used the other methods and you are full of static.

      Thank you for sharing your tips! It’s horrible isn’t it I seem to get it a lot with clothes I guess it could be to do with the heating in winter x

    Looks so lovely, Sally. I’ve never made an Atelier Jupe pattern before but I’ve admired several of them. Andrea from Beyond the Pink Door is always raving about them! It was 22C here in New York today! Crazy! Supposed to be 24 tomorrow 😮. Beautiful but so weird! Looking forward to seeing your next makes and it’s always interesting to see how others do life…especially their sewing life. Thanks for sharing and have a fab week!

    I find using fabric conditioner in the final rinse gets rid of the static.

    Great vlog! Dress is lovely. Raining there but also our spring in Melbourne has been more like winter, this week hopefully should get to mid 20s temperatures 😃
    I spray anti static spray lightly on inside of garments it helps

    I thoroughly enjoyed your videos on the shirt dress and didn’t it turn out well ? I think that Amazon sell a large assortment of anti static sprays and you can use hairspray. Lots of love to your gorgeous dog and wishing him better soon.🌹🌹🌹

    I enjoyed this style of vlog. Your dress is beautiful. I got my second Tilde cut out this weekend. In the United States, there is a spray called Static Guard. It reduces static. I am not sure if you can find anything similar in the UK.

    The dress is very nice. You did such a good job. Would you make same dress in a light or medium weight corderoy? Would you make one?

    Hi. Some spray hair spray Your doing a good job! Sorry your family has had difficulties. Can you tell me how you got color on without the shift happening? What have you been knitting? How do you keep up w the domestics and do all you enjoy doing? Life management skills you seem to have a good handle in. Please tell up how you do it and keep it together. Thx. May Jehovah the most High Psalm 83:18 Bless you and your family.

      Thank you so much for watching. Can you explain what you mean about the shift please? I'm currently knitting the Szerelem Sweater by We are Knitters and really enjoying it. It's always a balance keeping up with everything isn't it but my children are that bit older now and in schools so I have a bit more time to work on things. Thank you for the blessing x

    Dress looks fantastic and suits you so well. I hope you get the static fixed. I’ve been eyeing up this pattern and nearly bought it but then Sew Over it brought out the Nicole shirt dress and I’m torn which one to do! Would you say the Tilde is suitable for someone who hasn’t done a shirt before? I couldn’t find many reviews before yours.

    • @SecretLifeOfASeamstress
      @SecretLifeOfASeamstress  ปีที่แล้ว +1

      Ah yes I was the same with the Nicole dress, in the end I preferred the Tilde because there's no waist seam it's just one long dress that's belted in. I would assume though that SOI's instructions would be a lot clearer than the Atelier Jupe ones, I'm glad I had previously sewn a shirt collar before trying this one but, that said, there are plenty of collar tutorials around to help if you get stuck. I hope that helps a bit! x
