My favorite dress is a shirt dress. Very many years ago, I made an aqua colored dress with a same color chiffon type over dress. (I am not explaining it well). It looked fabulous and was very flattering. I even wore it to a wedding. I do have a shirt dress in my stash and plans. This style is so versatile. I won't be so ambitious this time. LOL Thank you for sharing these ideas patterns and the dresses you have sewn.

Muna and Broad is a fantastic indie sewing pattern company. They are very size inclusive. Along with many well drafted patterns they have a few shirt dress options :- Huon shirt & dress pattern, the Tarawi shirt which could be easily lengthened or add tiers to, and the Waikerie shirt and Waikerie Dress expansion pack. Also wanted to mention that you can order printed patterns in sizes 18-30 from Style Arc. They are a little bit more than the pdf cost wise, but when you weigh up the cost of paper / ink etc and printing at home or AO printing, I think its worth it to order direct from Style Arc. Their paper is quite good quality. It's not tissue paper and not as heavy as butchers paper or A4 paper. I'm quite pleased with the handful of patterns I've ordered printed....now to do some measuring, cutting out and sewing!

I love a button up cotton shirt, so why not a shirt dress? I'm game to try, so I snagged Butterick 6333 in a good pattern sale. It has the collar, full button placket, and waist tie, but it also has princess seams and pleating in the skirt, where you can choose the fullness with more pleats or fewer pleats.
I hope someone knows the name of that dress pattern, it’s glorious, so feminine. Perhaps Kate from Pattern Emporium could be persuaded to design one that’s very similar. It would be great to be able to support an Australian designer, for something as gorgeous as that. 🌹❤️
