A helpful tip I found when doing this is to turn the shadow box upside down, without the back on it, on a safe surface, such as a non slip piece of shelf liner, then use a corner of the frame & both of the sides that form the corner to butt each layer up against, helping you to align it squarely on the previous layer, just like using a carpenters square. Because the layers build up height fairly quickly, the height of the shadow box itself was the only thing I had that was square, a good size & deep allowed for the final height of all the layers. I hope this is useful to others. Jennifer I am grateful that you come up with beautiful ideas, show us how & give us the free files to do it ourselves. 🙂

Just made my first EVER shadow box. I absolutely love it! I do however have a question. I got a 12 x 12 box, however, when I put my cut outs in the box it did not fill the entire box like in your video What did I do wrong?

@@JenniferMaker yes it does , we fixed it by cutting the outside layer again and getting rid of cut marks and putting home in the middle.Thanks for replaying , it looks great now lol , only I know the ones behind that sheet don’t fill the shadow box ! Great project , I just wasn’t listening when it said to measure the opening ! BTW it turned out great and besides me not listening super easy …

@@JenniferMaker I ended up getting the same frame as you. My Cricut wouldn’t let me resize any larger than a finished size of 11” because of that border that gets cut out. My original frame was 11.5. But it’s fine- it will be used for another project. By the way- what a FUN project!! Mine turned out so cute!

My top layer touches the glass. Some foam squares can be thicker that others.

The largest cut area is 11.5" x 11.5". You can select and hide the pieces you want to cut or hide in the layers panel. That is the easiest way. 💕

If you resize the SVG, you could certainly try to make it on the Cricut Joy.

You can adjust the size to fit your shadow box.
