    Love the shot out the windshield on final. The crab was clearly visible with a kick to straight just before touch down. Thanks for another great flight Martin.

    Hello! I'm a local wichita kansas guy, my father built those airplanes for beech and still works there to this day though its known as textron now. and for a while I worked for a company that rebuilt the landing gears for them. Thanks for the great footage of my home town, and the beautiful planes we build here.

    16:10 "Wait for the Bonanza" is exactly right. I actually had a short final ATC commanded go-around at KICT last year. They were doing water braking tests on 1L with what looked like a unpainted regional jet. I was landing on intersecting 14 and the test aircraft slid through wherever they were going to stop. ATC gave me a short final go around, and a prompt left downwind to 19L so I was able to fit in without disrupting the flow of RJ's to 19L (but had succeeded in utilizing all of the open runways with one approach)..

    For those that do not know...Wichita is the Air Capitol of the World.
    Boeing, Cessna. Lear Jet, Beech aircraft. All started business and Mfg. Here and they all are still here too!

    • @GaryMCurran
      @GaryMCurran 5 ปีที่แล้ว +1

      Phil, I have one comment about your statement. Yes, I'll agree that Wichita IS the Air Capital of the World, but Boeing did NOT get their start there. Boeing started in Seattle, where they are still headquartered and in the Puget Sound area still produce a great many of their airplanes.
      If you are ever fortunate enough to visit the area, most certainly check out the Boeing Museum at Boeing Field. Here's a link to my Flickr Photo Album for the museum. I need to get up there and get some more photographs.

    Nice video... What seems to me as "not so good" showing none-pilots, is that you show that you do your button pushing the same time you taxi to active. For my training, it was either you look up or down - dont push(look down)-and-taxi at the same time.

    • @martinpauly
      @martinpauly  5 ปีที่แล้ว

      I assume you are referring to me going through the "after landing" checklist items when vacating the runway? I agree that some more complete items like the NAV setup for departure, a detailed crew briefing etc. it is much better to have the airplane stand still. For simple things like switching from tower to ground frequency, we can probably agree that I don't need to stop for that. In between is a gray area. For these particular checklist items in the very familiar (to me) Bonanza, I do not see a need to come to a full stop - but I would not suggest to anyone that it is wrong to stop if in their assessment that is safer.

    • @martinpauly

      Hi Thomas. Are you referring to about 13:15 when Approach tells me "I'm going to take you across final"? That just means he wants me to NOT intercept the final approach course and instead go over to the other side, to come back to the final approach course later. They sometimes do that so I don't get too close to the aircraft in front of me.

However, the JPI EDM-930 doesn't leave a whole lot of room in the center panel for an additional display, i.e., the 7" display.
    What I would like to know is if you considered the EDM-900, and why you chose the 930 over the 900?

      Steve, it’s an ice chest with a heat exchanger. You fill it with ice (and a tiny bit of water), and plug it into the cigarette lighter. It’s called “B-Kool”. Not as convenient as built-in AC, but a tiny fraction of the cost, and you don’t need to haul the weight around in the cool season.
      Regards, Martin

      Martin , ive got one for my SX300 but have not used it yet. Just wondered if it kept you cool and how long. Great videos !

      steve carter You have an SX300? Very cool!
      The B-Kool works pretty well. One load of ice (20 lbs) is good for one take-off and one landing - not more. But that’s all we usually need.

    Horrific comment made by Martin on Jerry Wagner's channel. Not sure who this Martin is but certainly doesn't know when to keep things to himself. Additionally, he is a low time pilot with little technical knowledge to comment on someone else's conduct. Hope you have a good year, sir, and please keep your comments to yourself! With only 15k subscribers, not too concerned about widespread distribution of the trash he put out there.
