- We recently took a quick trip out to Ocotillo Wells and this was the result! @zachary23james showed us what his full cab, Toyota Tundra Pre-runner is made of and we did our best to keep up! This truck is such an inspiration, seriously. Toyota reliability, v8 power and instant torque, 4 seater, full-size truck longitudinal and lateral stability… what a cruiser she must have been and the video just sends that ethereal AWE of sailing through the desert without a worry in the world.. true freedom is the absence of fear: peace and love
agreed! In my opinion, hauling across the desert with zero worries is one of the best feelings out there. This truck has changed a bit in the last few years, maybe we'll make another video of it soon!

I have the same truck, can’t decide on getting something newer and shorter wheel base or just keeping mine and building it. It is nice having 4 doors but I prefer shorter trucks. However, having no car payment is nice and mine is a close build to this one, currently at 220k miles and still going strong.

Totally inspired. Might borrow your flat white paint and fiberwerx setup for my 05 doublecab. Planning for the solo xlt kit and either as bomber a spring under setup I can make, or full 4 link. Beautiful video. Song name?

question- how does the kings suspension feel in the whoops? and also when you get so good size air like in the video? does it feel like it absorbs it pretty well?
I would like to say yes, but the truck was not mine so I cannot speal entirely for how well it handles. It was very fun and I'm sure the King suspension had a lot to do with it!

ive got a first gen similar to this and i love her best truck ive ever owned and ive owned a few trucks even newer than this 2001 with the 4.7 and she has 277k and runs like its still got another 500k to go best truck hands down...all though word of caution the starter is in THE WORST spot ever only real first genners know XD

Oh I got an 05 similar to this build and the starter sucks but once you figure it out, it ain’t so bad. Small sacrifice for a well built truck

They can be whatever you want them to be 😎 This one is rwd tho
Alot of people that do desert riding usually prefer 2wd like Ford rangers an turn them i to prerunners..but 4x4 is fun as well for other obstacles
The 4x4 tundra has the option of 2wd or 4wd hi and low with a turn nob
What engine/drivetrain setup does this rig have?
This truck is a 4.7L V8 with a 4 speed trans. Rear locker as well but I am not sure what kind.
