Great video thank you. I wish the TC heim steering upgrade was a little more affordable I'd totally go for it. These 1st gen Tundra/Sequoias are great vehicles, really the only problem I've had is with the front diff, spider gears to be specific. Then again I have a buddy who runs 37's with zero issues so maybe I got a bad unit. Where did you source your uniball LBJ's? I know of one guy that fabs them but he's been backordered forever.
Uniballs were souced through a shop here in San Diego "The Truck Shop" not sure if they were fabed in house or through a 3rd party. From my understanding the ball joint pattern on the uniball conversion for the first gen taco is the same for Tundras, but id check with TC before ordering. I think 35s are perfect, 37s would require a lot more cutting and will ultimately be the limit for a lot of the stock components.
I'm so glad my toyota 86 in thatbera. Don't have LBJ failure. When i did JD LT, I did replace them with factory oem LBJ. Amd my original ones was still in great shape. No tear and still firm
What made you want to go long travel? I realize the benefits of lt with faster desert speed, but does it also help with greater articulation in rock crawling? thx
Yes this is why I did it. The travel essentially doubled which will let one tire crawl over an obstacle while the other is on the ground. This is the most travel without having to fabricate shock hoops into the engine bay with bigger coilovers
@@dr_omiz Thx appreciate it. Your content is on point bro…very detailed and thorough…It can be a challenge sometimes for the 1st gen community, so appreciated…cheers
Thank you. Front bumper was fabricated by previous owner. If you are local to San Diego, i would recommend 80% offroad, dirtking, The truck shop, fabzone, JDG fabrications
That is a really cool front bumper?? Does it add crumple zone??. Dont see a lot of old toyotas or jeeps in minnesota, they have long rusted away. How is that thing legal in commieforna?
@@dr_omiz if I need a little help with advice on upper control arm replacement and coil shock assembly's to achieve accurate 3" - 3.5" lift for 06 2wd can I lean on you a bit?
I think the most impressive thing about this build is doing it in an open parking space without the condo/homeowners association shutting you down :D
Haha they tried! Luckily i have bought a home since
Very Impressive that You were able to do this all at home. Mad Props.
Thank you. Appreciate that. Took some time, several small parts, and a lot of beer.
This is a win for me. You cleared up everything i needed to know. I just got my first gen. Thanks for doing the work.
Good luck brother!
Great! inspires me to do the same on my Tundra 2006...
Nice. Racerunners!!! I almost ran those back in the day. I'd clear coat the anodizing they tend to fade quick.
Always a good day with the Doctor posts. Sick build.
What bumper is that? Looks great
Awesome build!!
Awesome truck! No limit straps?
Thank you. I added limit straps shortly after.
Also went back to mid travel and sold the kit after in Nov/Dec 2023
Your truck is dope!!!!
That’s not a spacer for the top of the spindle. That is a whole new spindle hole. The top of the spindle has a snap ring that holds that in.
i see. the previous owner already had the spindle hole in there from the stock length UCAs so not needed.

sickest wheels! what up dude dvp_sb here, diggin the videos!
What up man! Thank you!
hi, what wheels do you have? Looks so great!!
Summit Dakar Polished aluminum
Did you upgrade your spindle to 04-06 Bigger ball joint ?
I did not. The top of the spindle was fitted with the UCA misalingment spacers from Total Chaos. Or were you referring to a different ball joint?
What size tires are you running with this kit
I was on 35s then. I’m on 37s now with mid travel
Hey if you don't mind me asking, how many miles are on the truck? And are you still running the original engine or what's going on there.
As of 10/19/23 i have 273k on the motor. Hoping to get it to 300k but it showing signs of being at the end of its life. swapping it thereafter
I have questions, where's that DM link?
Hit up my IG dr_omiz
Where’d you get those uni ball lower ball joints bro?
Custom made by The TRUCK SHOP SD but i know Total Chaos has or is working on a uniball conversion kit
@@dr_omiz nice to know but those conversions costs a lot I believe it’s worth it
