  • Here's a tour of my 2001 v6 RWD tundra, I know I eventually need to get a v8 4x4 tundra but for now I gotta make do with what I got. Let me know if you have any questions about my rig. Glad to help

    Not to bash on your build at all but if I were you I’d consider looking into a 4WD version of the same truck. Other than that everything you’ve done is legit. It’s a nice truck. Just gotta be careful when the rainy season comes around and you’re out in the woods. Two wheel drive is a headache when you get stuck. Sometimes a winch isn’t enough. Glad to see someone with a bible in their truck! Cheers man

      Thanks bro I know 4x4 is the way but for now until I get my career setup I have to stay with this 2wd 😔

      @@01Trdtundra my guess is that this is a prerunner style build and those are typically 2wd. Nice job building this out 👊😎👍

    1st gen tundras are some of the best trucks imo! I’ve been building & restoring my 02’ with new components over the past few years.

      They really are, if you have Instagram add me same as my TH-cam channel so I can see your build progress, eventually I want to get this exact truck just w/the v8 engine and the 4x4 drivetrain and plan on keeping that thing for life if it goes out just gonna buy a new engine 🤣

    For securing the tailgate area , I recommend you to construct a hard mesh lifting gate that hinges to your truck bed rack like a camper shell lifting door where you can see through the mesh , and as the same time , you can also secure all your belonging in the bed of your pickup . Yet , it looks cool too depends on the quality of material and design of your DYI . Design so that it looks like part of your roof tent rack . Think of it when you need to go somewhere to get supplies , anything valuable in the back of your pickup is prone to theft .

    Nice bro! I have a 2003 Nissan Xterra Supercharged. I put that Coastal Offroad bumper on it and TBH, its insane! I welded it myself and it was my first ever welding project. It looks sooooo good! Did you powder coat it? I used spray on bedliner for mine. I'm running the Faulken Wildpeak AT4s that just came out. Great tires.

    • @01Trdtundra
      @01Trdtundra  5 วันที่ผ่านมา

      I just spray painted it with rustoluem 2x Matt black, I was gonna do powder coat but too expensive and the bedliner I didn't think about till after, Im also excited to try the at4s, the at3s so far have been great, good traction, quite, and somewhat aggressive

    I have the V8 4wd SR5. This is pretty much my dream build for it. I can’t wait until I can start modding and upgrading it. only downside is it would be hard to do a blackout with it, because it is that weird silvery almost beige color that they had at the time. But either way, love the truck, man!

      It’s not bad around town at lower speeds but gets sketchy on the highway. If you had to swerve to avoid something and brake could roll the vehicle.

      Yeah many people espically 3rd gen tacos and a lot of modern Toyota overlanders or pre runners take off their sway bars to get more flex and comfort ideally would be better for a sway bar disconnect but

    a more stiff suspension can remove the need for a sway bar. try to not recommend removing sway bars for stock suspension

  • @Am22347

    Is it safe to remove entire sway bar? And does it affect anything else?

    • @01Trdtundra
      @01Trdtundra  หลายเดือนก่อน +1

      Many people say it is sketchy because if you make a sudden swerve on the highway you could flip but to me it feels the same as before but off-road it feels way better, and many overlanders and pre runners take off the sway bars
