It's a better Kalamax but still bad cedh commander, because there are too many angles to take care of making tutor complicated to connect under interaction
I added a bunch of zero cost spells, like lotus petal, thropter, mishra’s bauble, etc, to simply inflate the storm cost. They can also be cast after combat for less risk
Good list! I recommend Baral over Goblin Electromancer because it's easier to cast and can loot with a counter spell. Also Boltwave from Foundations can be an excellent finisher.
Im in the process of building a storm deck focused on removing legend rule or creating non legendary copies of her to increase instances of storm on a card. I don't think it'll be better, but my playgroup is below cedh and i want to focus on fun, so im trying to avoid solitaire turns.
I put in Tasha's Hideous Laughter for one of my spells. Funny to give that spell storm, even if storm count is only 2 or 3....detrimental to a lot of decks
Extra turns is undeniably strong, but I’m not a fan of solitaire commander so I personally am not putting any in. A few less wins to have more fun with friends is a good trade in my book.
@ I can see how that’s fun! I don’t think one would upset and rational thinking person. If that was the case the craterhoof and all other “ I win” cards would hold the same salt score.
I have seen a lot of different deck techs for Storm, and one card that is conspicuously missing from each of them is Arcane Bombardment. It's free storm count! Why is nobody using that? Granted, it's expensive, but I feel like it's worth it.
It’s a pet card of mine, but the reason it does not see play is because it’s a remove on sight. You will want to ramp in early turns, then play Arcane Bombardment with mana open to cast one instant or sorcery so you get the trigger.
New to MTG and appreciate the thorough breakdown! Regarding cards that create copies of spells and instants such as Thousand-Year Storm, aren’t the copies not actually “casted” and therefore don’t increase your storm count?
I built a deck with Storm as the commander, lots of counterspells and land grab, Iron man, Lara Croft and an inifinite artifact kill... nobody likes to play against me.
22:18 copying doesn’t add to storm count unless it says “you may cast the copy”
Kind of secretly been waiting for this

No need to keep it a secret ;)

Really good idea. I may look into that as well! -Shane

Finally a deck tech I fuck with for storm
LETS GO!!

The new sorcery Boltwave in Foundations would be a good include also. Get a high enough storm count it could win you the game.
Completely forgot about that one. I really like that include! -Shane
Brivery IS a good option too
I like that idea! I might test it -Shane

Totally understandable. That's why I only added the 1 extra turn card. Didn't want to go too crazy! -Shane

That's correct! Only the real spell you cast will count. But thousand year storm will just give you so many copies of the spells you cast!

Traumatized with storm 4 gets someone to 5 cards left in their deck
Oh that could be super mean! I might have to try that -Shane
Maddening cacophony is also naturally a good choice
