David & Freema was mostly busy filming the end of season specials so they needed an episode that only used them sporadically. Who knew it would turn out to be one of the most iconic stories of this era.

This was the first episode of the modern series ever that really freaked out small kids who watched it - they talked about it in the playground for weeks! (I was a teacher, so they used to talk to me about it all the time). The Weeping Angels reappear much later (not with the Tenth Doctor - I mean MUCH later) and are never quite as brilliant ever again, despite being written by the same person.....

Yeah I can totally see why this would freak out children. It was really creepy to me and I loved it. Can’t wait to see what’s to come for future episodes :)
One of the best episodes of Doctor Who in my opinion. A great jumping off point to introduce the show to casual viewers.

What I only picked up on a few years ago - I THINK the implication is that Billy married Cathy's daughter (as she mentions that she was called Sally)
Welcome to the second Doctor lite episode. I'm glad to see you enjoyed this more than "Love and Monsters". "Blink" is a personal favourite for a lot of Doctor Who fans and continues the trend of Steven Moffat providing some of the most interesting episodes to the series.
Thanks to Sally Sparrow being the point of view for this episode it also works really well as an episode you can show to someone who has never seen Doctor Who before.
Yeah I can totally see this episode working for someone who has never watched an episode of Doctor Who. Definitely enjoyed this a lot more than “Love and Monsters” the concept of that episode was really cool and interesting. Just wasn’t executed well in my opinion. Got too over the top by the final act. Can’t wait to see what other Doctor Lite episodes there are and hopefully they’re more like this and not like “Love and Monsters 😂
@@HamzaReactz Yeah, we try to forget about that one but the monstrosity that is "The Absorbaloff" can't seem to get out of our heads aha.
What an episode is and considering the last time the doctor was barely in it was love and monsters this is a huge step up and it’s quite rightly regarded as one of the best episodes
3:33 I totally agree! I’m a huge physical media person. Glad to see you enjoyed this episode, since a lot of people say it’s one of the show’s best. Steven Moffat, who wrote this episode and two others that you’ve already seen (1x09/10 and 2x4) goes on to be in charge of the show from series 5-10, so if you like those episodes (and another two parter he wrote in the next season), then you should like his era. Cant wait for the next few episodes, things are about to get interesting…

Blink was based on a Moffatt short story called, "What I Did on My Christmas Holidays by Sally Sparrow"

• Torchwood Series 2 before ‘4x12’
• Torchwood Series 3
inbetween ‘5x14’ & ‘6x01’
• Torchwood Series 4 whenever

I've seen so many horror films from halloween to a nightmare on elm street but none of those have scared me more than this episode of dr who
Love me some horror. Don’t watch them a lot because I think if you do, you’re brain gets use to it to the point where it’s no longer scary. Even slashers these days are more entertaining and a fun time than a scary time. Nice to watch something like this that has you on the edge of your seat. Thanks for watching and commenting :)

You've watched another angels episode by now, so it's safe to make this comment. What makes this episode stand out is that the viewer is included in the action. The angels never move when they are observed, *even by the viewer* : we never see them move, which makes them even more creepy.

If you can do it, I’d really recommend watching the rest of Torchwood S1
