I’m sure glad you’re not quitting YT. Your recap of the year shows how God’s plans are not ours, but he’s with us throughout it all. Thanks for sharing!
We sure have missed you! But like all sweet, friendships absence makes the heart grow fonder, and it will be good to have you back when you're ready to be back and when the time is right to make more videos. Thank you so much for checking in today!
YES to trapping videos and YES to more "What's For Dinner!" You know, Rachel, when God put it in your heart to take a sabbath rest from the homestead, I'd say it was so that you would have the "margins" available to BE THERE for your family and such! As Todd mentioned in the video, you would not have been able to handle it ALL otherwise!! Thank you Lord for preparing our paths ahead of us and then nudging us in those directions!!
Rachel and Todd, your closing statement was exactly what I was thinking. In following God’s plan for a sabbath year, you were prepared to follow God’s plan for supporting your family. Prayers for you both to continue in the hollow of His hand.
Sorry to hear about your father and niece. I believe you were meant to take this year off as you were needed by your family. I will say I am glad to see you back as you guys were missed. You both need to do what is best and needed for your own self. Your loyal followers will be here when you are ready and able to film. Take care of each other and family first. Much love
I've missed your company, but I realised that you have a life to live, and I'm glad you were able to be there for your family (just sorry that they needed you for such emotional reasons) Your property is looking so pretty as Fall begins. I am discovering that the cyclical life of the garden keeps me grounded (pun intended) when the world seems so frightening and crazy, and for that secure feeling I am so grateful. I'm a novice gardener, but am gradually adding new things to my repertoire, both in the garden and the kitchen. So I look forward to sharing next year with you in your garden and kitchen. Thank you for all that you share with us, and never feel that you owe us explanations. Like all good friends, you can go for a while without seeing each other, then just carry on from where you left off last time you were together. Have a blessed weekend xx
Pretty sure your fan base is strong and we will stand by you as you get through the year. The Alaska footage was amazing, and I loved going to the cabin with you. I feel like I got to know you both a little better this year and I can wait for the gardening and canning next year!
I miss the kitchen time. I started canning because of you. I'm in my 60s and garden year around and have a full time job. Everyone needs a break. I hope you have some time for rest. Please take care of yourself. I will keep watching no matter how few or many videos you put out. All the trees are looking great. Just think how lovely it will be in 10-20 years
If it makes you feet a bit better, Rachel, my husband and I expanded our garden planted the biggest amount we have grown (only in our third year as gardeners) and my whole summer was lost due to the illness and loss of my mom. I will always cherish the last weeks I spent taking care of her. I missed the majority of harvest season in the summer but there is nothing more important than being there for your family in times of trials and happiness. We plan our steps but in the end God determines the paths we take.
My deepest condolences, sorry about your Mom. I lost my Mom, when I was 29 years old. I wished, I had a lot longer then that. But it was not GOD'S PLAN.❤🙏
I completely understand the time away from the camera family comes first. Just from watching you i think you needed that private time and most definitely a trip to Alaska! So glad you are still going to do video's. Miss you in the kitchen and whats for dinner. Thank you for sharing
Rachel, I sincerely hope one day I can handle life with as much grace and wisdom as you. We appreciate the update and hope that the remainder of the year brings you some much deserved peace and joy. My husband and I would love the What's For Dinner series to return. Cooking is one of our common interests, and we love the slow and quiet nature of your videos. We often watch them together as we prepare our own dinner and it feels almost as though we have friends joining us.
I agree it was a divine plan. People always come first as you have testified to and if you had put in a garden you still would have taken care of your loved ones AND felt bad about a garden going to waste. Yes to the traps video especially how you catch moles!!!! I love how you both keep it real, that's how you shine your light.
Oh My - I started reading the comments and I started liking all of them. Each had something in it that I wanted to say to you both. GRACE - A simple word that means so much. A very powerful word. Thank you both for all that you do and all that you share. I appreciate you. I have missed you and missed all that you bring. Please bring back everything that you did in the past. What’s for dinner was great and I loved all of the canning videos, I find myself search your videos when I want a recipe. Again, Thank you and Many continued blessings to you both and your families. God is Good - All the time.
What a year you’ve had. I would have to agree that you are spot on in saying that a sabbath year from gardening was all part of God’s plan to free you up in order to fully honor and support your family. I love that you keep the details private BTW. Trust in the Lord and know that he is guiding our every step. Be well and blessings to you both! ❤
I realize the need to take a year off. So glad that you're going staying on the channel. I am so looking forward to new videos. Please continue to do the what's for dinner videos. It gives me new inspiration for meals in my own home. God bless you both.❤
We all love you both. You are family. I pick up a jar off my shelf and cook something we have cooked and canned together. It makes you apart of us. Girlfriend I wish you could see how your fella glows when hes looking at you. Such a beautiful love story you possess.🌿💛🌿
In other words, you Sabbath year of garden rest, came when you needed to not focus on a garden when family needs surfaced you were there. All in God’s plan! Glad to hear from you guys, missed you.
I completely understand...putting others needs to the forefront of your life! God's Word is a lamp unto our feet and lights our path. He doesn't illuminate our entire life's journey, just our feet and as we walk, the path! ❤
I have always said there is no such thing as coincidences. God has a plan for all of us so it’s no coincidence this was your sabbath year. You heard your calling and you answered it with 100%. Always happy to see you post as you were my first channel that got me into canning but giving you all the grace in this season of your life! Thanks for always thinking of us ☺️
I love, love, love the "what's for dinner" videos and would very much like to see more of them. Thanks for sharing your life with us, all the ups ,downs, and in-betweens! ❤❤❤
So nice to get a life update. You didn't sound negative at all. I appreciate you respecting the privacy of others. We don't need to know the details. Please bring back "Whats for dinner ". One of my favorites. God never gives us more than we can handle and truly knows whats best. Peace and blessings ❤❤
You have had a year to ponder and reflect on your garden and other stuff. Have you thought about what your grade will look like next season and will you change anything in the garden?
This was a very thoughtful video! I have appreciated and learned so much from your channel over the years. Grateful that you were able to take a sabbath year to be where He needed you to be 🙏🏼 And YES, bring back ‘what’s for dinner’ videos. I would never have thought to sauté my canned carrots in olive oil and garlic without those videos. Carrot game changer❤
Rachel you said it so well at the end…a Devine Plan even though you had a “man plan”. He is Good all the time and provides what is needed even for us to be available for others. ❤️ You and Todd are a good inspiration to all of us! Don’t be negative. You come through loud and clear!
Thanks!! This is so real. I think we mostly do not give ourselves time to breathe. Ive needed to breathe since 2021 and be more available for family. Isn't this what really living life is all about? ❤ love you guys!
It's great to see you and hear your journeys and family time.. No worries to feel obligated to TH-cam when other priorities are in need & want.. Love you two and what you stand for & always enjoy what you share from your hearts! Thanks💞
Hey Y’all, It is so nice to see you two today. The most important part of the future is to set healthy boundaries for yourself. All the folks here can understand you doing what is best for you, Todd, your family and farm. Anyone that does not understand will need to get over it. For me I never have any expectation from any channel I follow. As a person watching these I appreciate what ever someone wants to film. I watch almost every video no matter the topic. I would offer this prayer for you that God will bless you, your farm and all of your ideas and plans for TH-cam for as long as you desire to do this. So thank you for what you do, being here as you are able. For me that is way more than enough. God bless y’all take care bye for now, Steven.
I would love to watch anything you enjoy doing for us. You do you and include us when you are feeling able to do so. Hugs, love and prayers to you all. May God bless you and yours. Please take care. Bye for now.
Glad to see you have made it back around. You had your life to live for awhile and was able to do what you deemed necessary to do. No one is judging you. You both look healthy and are continuing to share your knowledge with us. Thanks.
It was nice to see you two. I am glad you are not quitting YT. Your channel is one of my favorites and I am always so glad to see your post. I am glad you two are okay and enjoying life. :)
You owe us nothing! You both are amazing! Thank you for sharing your update. I am one that missed you both! But real life is real life. True subscribers as myself will stay and be grateful for ur real content no matter what it is and when it is. 😊😊🥰
Never apologise for being there for your family. TH-cam is your work, family is your heart and my sincere condolences for your loss.Three years ago, my father was diagnosed with MSA. I chose to have him and mum at home with me, and although it can be difficult, caring for my darling dad and being there for him in his final moments, was a great privilege and something I will cherish.
Hey there , What's for dinner ,Are you having dinner ,Is there dinner is always a great thing ,always fun in the kitchen for sure. Sorry about your family loss ... Lets look forward to better times.. Amen
Rachel and Todd..life happens...we all understand. I for one enjoy whatever you post, when you post, as I'm sure others do. You're entitled to decide what you want to share, or not share. Wish you two happiness whatever you decide and thanks for sharing what you have. I've learned a lot from you. Many blessings. I am sorry for the losses and pray there won't be anymore.😊
Love, love, love the “What’s for Dinner” series! My husband and I really look forward to sitting down together to watch your videos. Gives us so much to discuss regarding our own goals on the homestead. Thank you!! ❤
We've missed you too but it's clear you've been needed elsewhere this year. It's good to have the space to be able to what you need to do when it arises. Todd we would love some content in trapping if it ends up in that direction ❤
First, I'm so sorry to hear about your niece and also your father's diagnosis. I will be saying prayers for your family. Taking a Sabbath year off was definitely a "God thing" as I call it. When you can look back and say, I know that was you God... what a blessing. All the trees you've planted, wow!! Sometimes, it's just necessary to take some down that would do more harm than good! Yes, please on the "What's for Dinner"! Also, I'd really like to see a video on trapping! We have raccoon, opossum, rabbit, deer, coyotes, among other critters. I realize we can't trap all of the above, but any ideas are always welcome! Looking forward to the next video!
So happy you were both available to support those who needed you. We did miss you 🤗 but completely understand that life happens. Looking forward to seeing you more in 2024!
I think most folks can relate to those times when life seems to chuck everything it can at you so all your hopes and plans are upended. I was diagnosed with endometrial cancer in July, but our merciful Savior allowed me to find it early. Surgery cured it, and I got the official all-clear today! God is always good no matter what the circumstances may be. I am glad to see you both back again.
Every one of us have seasons of life that just plain kick our butts. Life is fluid and we just have to roll with it. We'll all be here for the videos you put out when life lets you. 😊
You needed to be available this year for family. God put a Sabbath year on your heart a while ago. I can’t even wrap my head around how God plans! I blows my mind. When it’s all said and done, isn’t it amazing to sit back and see how through good and bad he is in total control. When we listen and submit to him, even when we don’t… our Heavenly Father always takes care of us and our needs❤️
Yes, bring back "What's for Dinner?" videos. So glad you were able to be there for your family this year. I understand as last year was a tremendous loss of immediate family members (last living aunt, brother-in-law, niece, and my Mama) for me. Now we are caring for my Mother-in-law who is in her final stages of life. I know that God is present in our lives and we are so thankful that He is on this journey with us. Blessings on you and your families. So happy to know you are continuing your videos. They bring much joy to my heart. Thank you!
Grace is gladly given! No one can predict when complex families and those needs from loved ones will derail the best of intentions. As long as we all keep loving each other we will come through the challenges. I’m happy that you are granting yourselves that grace as well. Sometimes, all you can do is just keep on keeping on. Having said all that, I’m happy to hear you will be continuing with the channel. I have learned so much from you as a beginning gardener and canner, and am very grateful for this path you have helped to steer me along. You’ve been missed!! May life settle into a more restful groove for you both going forward.❤🙏
Seriously, you dont have to justify any of your decisions. I do appreciate you sharing where you are coming from. I would like to see how you catch moles, they are destroying my yard.
It is okay to take a breather and life throws things at us that we have no control over. We all only get this one physical life, enjoy any way you can and want to. 🇺🇸❤️🙏🙏🙏 God has a plan for all. PS: LOVE what’s for dinner🥰
Hi Guys! Thanks for the updates! Todd you still need to do updates on where you are with the barn , kitchen floor joists and how the kitchen island cabinet doors are closing now. Oh and most definitely we would love your what's for dinners to start up again! Also, Rachel... we need a pantry tour on where you are after the Sabbath on your jars remaining. Also just for fun an update on top 3 this year likes and dislikes from the pantry- including freeze dried items. Please keep taking time for yourselves. You both deserve it.
I always say God prepares the way. He knew this year was a Sabbath year for your gardening. Imagine going through everything you went through this year AND growing your food. It would have been even more overwhelming, I'm sure! God is so good! So happy you're staying on TH-cam. Life is about balance!
I’m sure glad you’re not quitting YT. Your recap of the year shows how God’s plans are not ours, but he’s with us throughout it all. Thanks for sharing!

Yes, please bring back the "what's for dinner" videos. So glad the lord has sustained you. Been missing you, but of course we extend grace.
I love the what's for dinner videos. Improvement of the land by taking out the bad and planting the good is awesome 😎.

Yes, more what's for dinner and trapping videos! Always GREAT to see you two!!!
You guys do what your heart desires…….I love watching you guys whenever you upload.
Thank you!
Yes, Yes please on “What’s for Dinner”. Often times I need that push to get up and put something on our table after a busy day.🎉
Grace is gladly given!
I have missed you guys but know there are times that you have other things that come first. Family always comes first. Bless you. 🥰
For sure divine intervention. Yes to what’s for dinner!!!
Yes! I would so enjoy watching What's for Dinner with you two! And handmade, homemade Christmas ideas please! Peace and Blessings to everyone!🌻🌲🌳
I had the same thought!
Dido
Grace , Grace more Grace!!

Divine intervention is always the best ❤
A divine plan for sure! Life happens. You are lovely folks and I enjoy your videos ❤
Trees you cut 9 and trees planted 28. Love your channel and genuine and personable person the both you are.
Family should come first but I’m sure glad to see you both. I love your “what’s for dinner” series and do hope you bring it back.
