    Thank you for sharing your personal gear details, Julia.
    It is always wonderful to know the practical kit that professional photographers choose for themselves. I know, each lens requires a careful choice and you would have put countless hours pondering over theiese choices. Though each photographer might have personal preferences, your rich experience with these focal lengths serve as good reference for others.

    Talking about the 35mm. I remember watching your portrait shoots back in 2017 which inspired me to get the sigma 35mm f1.4 and did loads of portraits with it. After a few years go by I seem to prefer the telephoto look now haha. Good times.

    Thanks for sharing Julia! 😊 I've been waiting ~forever~ for an update to Canon's 50mm L to materialize but with the release of their mirrorless its evident that it'll never be a happening thing. Sony's 50mm GM 😍 represents a very attractive option, perhaps I'll upgrade/ switch ecosystems somewhere down the line when the a7 IV is released and widely available

    I remember the last time you did this with all canon gear. I commented saying Sony mirrorless is the future and here you are a Sony shooter! My question is why not a 24-70 or 70-200? Most wedding photographers have these or the 70-200 at the minimum for ceremony work so as not to get in the way. I’ve done weddings with primes and sometimes switching lenses is such a pain!

    I'm really impressed with how many cameras and lenses you get in your backpack. Which 35mm lens is always on one of the cameras? The 35 1.4 GM lens or the Sigma 35 1.2 lens? I am not a professional photographer myself, but a train driver. And I like to take pictures of my locomotives and trains. When I do that, I usually have my two Nikon cameras, the D 750 and the Z6, with me. When the day really has a lot of sunlight, I use the two zoom lenses Sigma Art 24-105 / 4 and the Tamron 24-70 / 2.8 Di VC USD G2. For less bright days I have a tamron 35 / 1.8 DI VC USD and a Nikkor Z 35 1.8S and a Tokina Opera 50 1.4 FF with me. When, contrary to expectations, I take portraits, I use the fairly new Viltrox 85 1.8Z and the Sigma Art 135 1.8DG. And all of this fits into the Lowepro Flipside 500AW. The cameras have hand straps from Spider and I also have a camera strap on which I can carry one of the two cameras outside of the backpack for quick access. I also really liked your backpack, but I've never seen it in Germany. When I'm at work, the D 750 and the Tamron 35 1.8 Di VC USD are usually with me. Thank you for the video, dear Julia, greetings from Crailsheim in Germany

    • @juliatrotti
      @juliatrotti  3 ปีที่แล้ว +1

      Yep that’s one of the reasons I don’t want to change my backpack - it just fits everything I need in there perfectly. Even when my kit changes such as when I borrow gear for review videos, I can still fit everything I need in there! A couple of days ago I fit a whole Fujifilm GFX kit in my bag too.. it was heavy but it all fit nicely haha. I always have the Zeiss 35 on my camera, now it will be the GM 35 that I use the majority of the time. The Sigma 35 is more of a fun lens that I use for portraits sometimes and personal shoots - but for a wedding it’s way too heavy for my liking.

    Hey Julia! Just had a question and was hoping to see why you use the a7c for your video recording if there was a particular reason. I have a7II and it's not so good for recording video. Should I buy the a7c for recording video, what do you recommend?

    Love the Camera bag video 👏🏽👏🏽 I am waiting for the A7 IV before I plan out my camera bag. For now I have a Sony 85mm f/1.8, the Zeiss Batis 25mm f/2, the Tamron 28-75 f/2.8 and the Pentax 55mm f/2 (which is so tiny, it just always lives in the bag 😂) depending on how the specs are for the IV, I may get that or replace the 85 1.8 with the 1.4.

      Thank you! The only thing that I would upgrade now is when the A74’s come out :D Can’t wait for that. The new GM 50 1.2 gives me hope that they will also work on a GM 85mm f1.2, that would be sweet!

    Hi Julia. I' m from Argentina. Thank you for let to know your equipment. I'm a Sony user. Can you tell me if the 50/1,2 GM is better for you than the 50/1,4 Zeiss? Worth the change?

    I have a question...hope you will answer. When do you take the nice wedding pics of the couple before or after the wedding? I just cant see the bride wanting to get her dress dirty before the wedding. Or how do do yall do that??? (Not talking about the actual wedding pics on wedding day)

    • @juliatrotti
      @juliatrotti  2 ปีที่แล้ว

      In Australia everything including the portraits are done on the wedding day, usually after the ceremony and before the reception.

    I noticed that you never mention the type of cable you use to record your videos along with the Atomos Ninja V. Would you share what type of device you use to record your viewfinder with since you don’t have the Atomos Ninja directly on your camera??
