So tired of seeing videos and training course on portraiture where they use a professional model. This is the clearest instruction video on posing I've ever seen and has given me renewed confidence to keep trying at portraiture. Great stuff. Only one thing that I was taught back in the film days as a portrait photographer and still bugs me. When doing the hand on the chin have the subject turn the hand to the thin side instead of broadside. That big skin area on a broadside hand pulls attention from the face. Depending on the focal length you are using it can really pull. I noticed it on the one shot of Alanna. Her hand appeared almost as big as her face in shot and was the foreground item. Other than that everything was great. Simple, easy and relaxed for the model yet still provided opportunity for a variety of shots. Thanks.

Thank you for the ideas. I’m a high school yearbook teacher. Every year I take senior photos for those that can’t afford them and then print and frame a few for the student. This definitely helps me work with a student model.
