This will always be Warcraft to me. The old series. Warcraft Orcs and Humans Warcraft 2 Tides of Darkness and Beyond the Dark Portal Warcraft 3 Reign of Chaos and Frozen Throne. Wow is the best damn RPG out there but somehow it doesn't have that magical spark like the others. Still waiting for Warcraft 4...if ever....i hope
Nebuchadnezzaurus Exactly, nostaligia and nothing more. WoW still is amazing, just as amazing as anything we see here. I cannot wait to see Grom in Warlords of Draenor, the hero of the entire orc race, twisted by Garrosh into an enemy bent on conquering azeroth >
Fatih Bilkil WoW is just as epic as it was back then. We are just used to it, we take such an amazing game and expiriance for granted. We are more grown up and cynical. Yes Cataclysm sort of killed the granduer and advanture that we felt, simply because it was so damn small and we already sort of knew what to expect, there was no discovery of a new continent theme that WoW has always been known for. But WoD and i dare say even MoP returned that feel of OMG i am someone small in someplace big ;D Pandaria is gorgeous if you give it a chance. Its not about raiding or one shot macros. It never was back in the day. We became cynical and used to doing only that. A new player can have just as much fun and OMG moments as we did, if he is not touched by the terrible atitude, not only towards n00bz, but also toward the game. I have an IRL friend who once said to me, Ye i played some WoW, a buddy used RaF and now i have 2 lvl 85s doing nothin. I smiled sadly at him and told him he had been robed of an adventure on the scope of Star Wars...he said he realises that and that made me even more sad.
Fatih Bilkil No i totally agree that MoP and Cata story was far fetched to say the least. But they really steped up the way they tell a story in those 2 expacks. Most people will agree, TBC and Vanilla didnt have a good story. There was no clear villian and the focus of the plot was all over the place. When i see fucking Ilidan presented so epicly in the TBC cinematic, i expect him to hold that level of epicness in the game. What exactly are we not prepared for? That story had so much potential that it almost sucks how they told it in game. I expected to see him as the last boss, the whole expansion leading up to him, like we saw in wrath with the lich king. But no, kill him off in the first content patch, way to go blizz...that is the reason imo why so many fans want to see him back. With MoP, Cata and to some extend Wrath the story was much more streamlined and easy to follow. This is great if you ask me. And then hits WoD, absoloutly groundslaming MoP and cata so far. You have to give it a go, you owe it to yourself as a WoW fan. Not only does it feel like WoW again, but it tells an amazing story. You say its out of the place. I am not so sure. Think of it this way: We are visiting the homeworld of the orcs and get to see the dreanei in their prime on dreanor. As it does not mess with our story, it gives them freedom to just ask this simple question: What if? (and this is not only about the blood of manaroth, they are revisiting some really cool storylines and asking what if) As a WoW fan i cannot belive you are not getting nerdgasms one after the other at the thought of visiting Dreanor before it was turned into Outland. Also they are basicaly trying to tell the story of Beyond the dark portall, all over again. Dreanor is as much from the original lore as it gets friend. They probably wont do something with Sylvanas very soon, which is sad, mainly because of gameplay reasons. Also from lore perspective, who will lead the forsaken when she is gone? Lillian Voss i guess, but she needs to accept she is undead first. They have kinda screwed themselves with Sylvanas :(....
MrTechFox Garrosh didn't twist him into anything, he was always an evil bastard intent on conquest, it was only after the entire horde was defeated and held prisoner did he change at all, and only because of Thrall I think. If not for Thrall I don't think the night elf sentinel's(whose name idr) words would've meant a thing when she mocked him for thinking he was free of the demons control.
When i played WoW, my main was an Orc warrior. I often saw myself as the son of Hellscream, being that i was fearless, bloodthirsty and somewhat reckless. I often visited the valley and the grave of Hellscream to "pay my respects", a little rollplaying if you would. I also took many other Orc-warriors there to tell of the story and show the memorial-site.
I like how just the two of them show up to take down Mannoroth. It's like Thrall must've told Grom, "you messed up and now we're putting an end to this demon, just you and me."
That is the awesome thing about this story, the two of em go and try to set things right. There is a reasong why Thrall does not do shit to kill Manaroth. It is Groms redemption story. Thrall is there to acknowledge Groms act, Thrall sorta acts as the player who is watching the cinematic.
+Hasan Ismail Because he is a brainless savage clown, or have you forgotten the reason Thrall dragged him along on that little excursion? His mindless bloodlust threw everything Thrall was working toward into jeopardy. But somewhere in that barbarian is a spark of hope that he might learn to be civil.
This is indeed one of the key moments of Warcraft history. The Orcs finally free themselves of the Legion who had caused them pain and suffering for decades.... Blizzard sure knows how to make a good storyline... usually......
It's been 7 years since I first watched this and I have played every warcraft game. And I think this video is the finest moment in Warcraft history. It defines warcraft like nothing else.
03:00 - END, so epic sene. Grom: "Thrall, the blood haze, has lifted. (coughs) The demon's fire, has burned out in my veins (coughs harder) i.. have... freed... myself.. and slowly dies. Thrall: "no old friend, you freed us all" (roars fiercely). So epic scene, where Grom realizes all he had done wrong, and finally killed the vbery demon that had corrupted all orcs with demonic hatred. And when u think about the fact that Grom was the first to drink his blood, it makes it even MORE epic.
started playing W3 on a whim for the first time after being captivated by the Battle for Azeroth cinematic from Blizzcon 2017 (never played wow or warcraft before).. now i have to say i love the lore and also plan on reading the novels
It'd be great if Blizzard finds it in its heart to release the storyboards for their cinematics. I wanna know who worked on these and what went on in their minds. This is beyond brilliant. Like maybe re-release a cinematics DVD, with a collector's edition that includes story boards, char designs, etc. They're not hurting for money right now, but I'm sure a demand's there, and it wouldn't hurt them one bit to make some money off of it.
warlord of dreanor happens 25 years before this event. in old days, Grom hellscream with other clans agreed to drink manaroth's demon blood, which made them stronger but they lost their 'freedom' because of it and they became greenskinned. now, Garrosh hellscream, son of grom, travels to past 35 years ago to stop his father from drinking the blood, making them free and providing information and knowledge from the present, giving them great advantage in combat.
Papajina SON Yes. After drinking the blood of Mannoroth, their skin turned green. Notice that Gul'dan is the only green orc in the WoD cinematic. He drank the blood, but the rest did not. Also, in Outland there are a ton of orcs (called Mag'har) which are all brown-skinned. Garrosh never drank the blood in either timeline. That is why he is brown in the future and in Outland's Nagrand.
Plaguelander Warcraft Actually the green skin is supposed to come from being close to fel magic (aka warlock magic and all) Mannoroth blood just get the Eye red (and, i think skin red with larger quantity or something)
Watching this inspired me to play through the campaign of Reign of Chaos and Frozen Throne again on Hard. I played with epic style (i.e. Leeroy Jenkins) and didn't lose once!
The line near the end of the cinematic is my all time Warcraft universe line ever uttered ( with "No king rules forever" being 2nd). It seems like each time i think or say the lines....i kind of cry inside.
After reading a couple of the "War of The Ancients" books, I learned to respect the Orcs. Because of Broxigar, I have an in-depth feel of how much honor means to them as a race. I don't play on the Horde, but I DO...respect...the Orcs.
Well almost all the orcs drank the blood when they were back in Draenor (now Outland) before the final assault against the draenei capital of Shattarath (I recommend reading the book Rise of the Horde, if you want to know more about that, it's one of the best Warcraft books there is). This was before the first game Warcraft: Orcs and Humans and the book I mentioned ends when the Dark Portal opens between Draenor and Azeroth and the Orcs went trough to begin the First War.
with the warcraft editions we could experience and be a part of each and every event in the warcraft story. we got to play as the heroes themselves, like Thrall and Grom. Wow will never be able to give us that experience. The experience of standing shoulder to shoulder with humans and orcs and elves and defeat Archimonde as if we were there ourselves...
I'm kind of new to WoW and the whole Warcraft lore, so I didn't know who Mannoroth was until I read "The Well of Eternity", and I just thought he was so awesome. It's cool to see what he looks like via a cinematic.
Warcraft 1 orcs & humans,Warcraft 2 tides of darkness and exp pack beyond the dark portal then warcraft 3 and then warcraft 3 the frozen throne came.its the games that shaped the wow we play today,Legendary !
@amesh67 Was so long ago since i played WoW. His grave/memorial is located in southeastern Ashenvale in a place called Demon Fall Canyon, just south of Fellfire Hill. If you venture deep into the canyon, you will see Mannoroth's weapons hovering in the air. Now, go pay your respects to the mighty Hellscream :)
This was what personally made me decide to be horde in WoW. This was just epic. After this my favorite scene would have to be Arthas defeating Illidan and walking to the tope of Icecrown.
@TheJazz2002 The name's Mannoroth. Back on Draenor, he offered his blood to the orcs, as it would give them great strength. However, drinking the blood bound the orcs to his will and they became a bloodthirsty horde and part of the burning legion.
@Warcrafter50 Grom Hellscream is the father of Garrosh Hellscream (later to be found in Outland by Thrall during the Burning Crusade expansion, and brought back to Azeroth). The red glow signifies the demonic influence Mannoroth has over certain orcs who drank his blood from a Night Elf well. It was under this influence that Grom was able to actually kill the Demigod Cenarius, the patron saint of druids precisely and to an extent the Night Elf culture.
@louiscoollol Actually this happened in Demon Fall Canyon in Ashenvale. Far southeast corner of the map in the World of Warcraft. The spot is marked by a monument to Grom.
And the fact that in 2:28 the conflagration has ended but Grom falls after some seconds (which means he managed to remain standing after taking it all in the face) makes this even more awesome. Badass from the old days of Warcraft.
This still gives me chills all these years later. If only this Blizzard still existed
its amazing how stealthy that pitlord was considering his size at the first part
Best. Warcraft cinematic. Ever.
This is by far one of the manliest deaths in fiction.
orciest*
"..when in your *heart*, you know *we* are the *same*!" ""...RAAAGHHHHHH!"

Warcraft Orcs and Humans
Warcraft 2 Tides of Darkness and Beyond the Dark Portal
Warcraft 3 Reign of Chaos and Frozen Throne.
Wow is the best damn RPG out there but somehow it doesn't have that magical spark like the others. Still waiting for Warcraft 4...if ever....i hope
Fatih Bilkil that magical spark you're talking about is called nostalgia
Nebuchadnezzaurus Exactly, nostaligia and nothing more. WoW still is amazing, just as amazing as anything we see here. I cannot wait to see Grom in Warlords of Draenor, the hero of the entire orc race, twisted by Garrosh into an enemy bent on conquering azeroth >

I literally played Orc on WC3 for like 6 years coz of this cut scene
I like how just the two of them show up to take down Mannoroth. It's like Thrall must've told Grom, "you messed up and now we're putting an end to this demon, just you and me."

I don't think Thrall trusts his orcs to not go over to Mannoroth.
That shitty voice actor on the Warlords of Draenor trailer better not be Grom's voice. This is Grom's only voice.
+William Wallace yes imo in WoD Grom looks like a brainless savage clown. I miss WC3 :(
+Hasan Ismail Because he is a brainless savage clown, or have you forgotten the reason Thrall dragged him along on that little excursion? His mindless bloodlust threw everything Thrall was working toward into jeopardy. But somewhere in that barbarian is a spark of hope that he might learn to be civil.
"I...have...feed...myself!"
That's what I told blizz when they asked why I unsubscribed from wow all those years ago.
XDDDD man ur a legend. "but do not let rage and dispair to poison your heart" ;) "one day you may lead your people to a brighter future"
i still get teary-eyed watching this scene. WC3 is my favourite game ever.
This is indeed one of the key moments of Warcraft history.
The Orcs finally free themselves of the Legion who had caused them pain and suffering for decades....
Blizzard sure knows how to make a good storyline... usually......
i play this campaign over and over and this scene still brings tears to my eyes v.v
Me too
When thrall makes the yell, someone in the public have the skin like a chicken? GOD damn it, so epic
damn Hellscream was my favorite of all... his roar over throws all....
Thrall: "mental note: throwing away my weapon = bad things"
It's been 7 years since I first watched this and I have played every warcraft game.

2:00 BEST ! ORC ! SCREAM ! EVER!!
Grom is THE orc!! greatest warrior that have ever lived! I chose to be an orc warrior because of him^^ (lvl 70)
It makes me happy knowing I can finally see Grom again in the new WoW expansion.
yea but, im guessing hes going to be bad, and that hell be a boss well have to defeat..
+Hiru 93 Grom is not the endboss of Warlords of Draenor.
He sort of sucked tho
that is an example of braveness, without too much pathos (except at the end).
i like this ending. one of the best of any game ever.
03:00 - END, so epic sene.
Grom: "Thrall, the blood haze, has lifted. (coughs) The demon's fire, has burned out in my veins (coughs harder) i.. have... freed... myself.. and slowly dies.

Manneroths voice is so fucking kewl
True Gangster. Respect!
I still can't believe that its 15 years ago and the animation is so high quality
a tear came up at the end of this clip... i loved it
DAT WARLORDS OF DRAENOR CINEMATIC TRAILER....
Dose stupid assclowns not knowing or understanding the term of 'retcon;.
Cant wait to see this in reforged
I remember after all the cinematics , I was hoping for a warcraft movie....

2:10-2:24 when i shit
5 years later, I still cry to this
This single video illustrates: Redemption, Self-Sacrifice, Honor and Friendship. (Of the four WarCraft 3 videos, I like this one the best).
Warlords of Draenor Cinematic? xD
Nope.
RIDDICK0911 Times change.
Agent1W no shit... Really?
Unfortunately, WCIII is still the best thing Blizzard ever done. No time could change that.
RIDDICK0911 That wasn't me, that was Garrosh saying that. He's dead now, so that takes care of that. :D
Agent1W XD
Im confused.. he died in this trailer.. but in the WoD trailer he survived? Why did their color change from Green to Orange?
warlord of dreanor happens 25 years before this event. in old days, Grom hellscream with other clans agreed to drink manaroth's demon blood, which made them stronger but they lost their 'freedom' because of it and they became greenskinned. now, Garrosh hellscream, son of grom, travels to past 35 years ago to stop his father from drinking the blood, making them free and providing information and knowledge from the present, giving them great advantage in combat.
Alexander Khantadze Does that mean Orcs were originally blown-skinned from birth?
We go back in time to an Alternative Univers of Draenor, that's why you see all those orcs resurrected.
Papajina SON Yes. After drinking the blood of Mannoroth, their skin turned green. Notice that Gul'dan is the only green orc in the WoD cinematic. He drank the blood, but the rest did not. Also, in Outland there are a ton of orcs (called Mag'har) which are all brown-skinned.

so cool, the game is getting closer and closer to this as it progresses, cant wait to see cataclysm

@Viruxez actually i think it takes place in mannoroc coven in desolace. Mannoroth's weapons are in ashenvale
This was the most touching part of warcraft 3.
This was what personally made me decide to be horde in WoW. This was just epic.
After this my favorite scene would have to be Arthas defeating Illidan and walking to the tope of Icecrown.
Grom Hellscream was truly legend of WarCraft storyline ....
@TheJazz2002 The name's Mannoroth. Back on Draenor, he offered his blood to the orcs, as it would give them great strength. However, drinking the blood bound the orcs to his will and they became a bloodthirsty horde and part of the burning legion.
Some nice battle cries they've got there
@Warcrafter50 Grom Hellscream is the father of Garrosh Hellscream (later to be found in Outland by Thrall during the Burning Crusade expansion, and brought back to Azeroth).
The red glow signifies the demonic influence Mannoroth has over certain orcs who drank his blood from a Night Elf well. It was under this influence that Grom was able to actually kill the Demigod Cenarius, the patron saint of druids precisely and to an extent the Night Elf culture.

@DJiStevieB links to Warcraft 4 info?
One of the four epic cinematics from War3.(RoC)
Grom died for the Horde's sins.
Rest in piece, dearest Hellscream.
im sory can you write down what does hellscream say ... Thrall the blood ...has...3:03
Mannoroth is such an intelligent creature.
"I knew you would come!! :D:D:D"
FFS wasn't he the one who invited them? XD
Definetely the best video from War3, even though it's fucking sad. Lok'tar ogar!
they really need to make a full length movie!!!
this made mi crye
where can i get the music at 2:55?
Ive have always wondered how Prince Melechazar or whatever in kharazan got groms axe Gorehowl. anyone know???
poor grom :( i love how u can find the huge weapon of that dragon thing close to his stone
In WoW, Mannoroth's broken chestplate and his skull are on display on a dead tree in Orgrimmar, outside Thrall's palace.
Ok wats the best way to get the story /lore in order also Id like to watch all the cinematics in order. Which order where to start/
this makes me cry
@louiscoollol Actually this happened in Demon Fall Canyon in Ashenvale. Far southeast corner of the map in the World of Warcraft. The spot is marked by a monument to Grom.
man that is a sad ending, you can hear sorrow in Thralls cry at the end
Now that is a true hero.
And the fact that in 2:28 the conflagration has ended but Grom falls after some seconds (which means he managed to remain standing after taking it all in the face) makes this even more awesome. Badass from the old days of Warcraft.
@Balnazzardi oh yeah you said you wouldnt mind if they just borrowed the sc2 game engine for wc4?
did manoroth fight agains brutallus or magtheridon??
Thank you!
