Maybe it's a sad song, but I think it might be empowering for someone, and make them realize that the relationship was toxic in anyway, and they deserve better. I don't know. I have been with the same woman for all my adult life (since 19yo), almost 27 years now. I can't understand people, who let them be treated that way. I feel like some of that shit belongs to our teenage, when most are not mentally matured, but I've seen, that this is pretty common with young adults (and even some older adults) as well.

That's the thing about American music, it's always happy or has a happy ending. That's why people like Hank Williams and Johnny Cash were so controversial. They sang about what life is really like and that was/is taboo. Sonata Arctica has ballads just like that, they are tragic, but still so beautiful, and many people can relate to it because it's how life is. Thank you for reacting to this masterpiece.

Yes they wrote this song as a break up,but to alcohol,it's a song about the band's problem with alcoholism

Really? Have they told so, and are you sure they didn't just say so, because if it was for someone's ex, it is pretty personal and it could easily lead to some sort of problems. Some messed up fanatics could even end up killing that ex girlfriend, or they could get defamation charge for example. I'm not really that familiar with Sonata Arctica other than that I love their music, and I am bad for paying attention to lyrics in general, but what I have gathered makes me think, that this is actually pretty typical break up song for them.
