for me this phone is just beautiful. 3.5mm headphone jack, expandable storage, small screen. i barely make selfies, when i go out i wont video record the whole night instead of having fun. only thing i want to do is, watching some movies, play some music and play some games sometimes not on heavy or high settings

The advantage can also be written down that the Sony 10 IV does not overheat.

Indicator led, 3.5 mm jack, memory card tray and sim tray that gets ejected without a key. It can't get any better than this

Waterproof, Best Battery life compared to anything at any price at this weight , Calibrated screen with antireflective coating, 3.5 jack , SD card slot, Not holes in screen , 21:9 movies with no black bars, 21:9 aspect easy to use 2 windows and multitask, great build quality, amazing Mic on voice chat. What more anyone would ask ??? IF it had more powerful chipset or higher refresh it will cost battery life, and also better camera it will affect price, For that there are Xperia 5 and 1 or Pro ....

I own this and the Nokia XR20. Both supposedly "low" chipset handsets.. but to me these are great phones. Gorilla Glass Victus and well built.. plus that battery life is amazing. Over two days without a charge. Also I got this for £299 in Black Friday sales!

I like the design, stock android, the microSD slot, the headphone jack, the telephoto option. But in my country it costs 445€ and Sony aren't great with software support. And this is holding me back from buying it. Google pixel 6a, I do not like it's design. And the brand new Nokia x30 doesn't have headphone jack, no microsd slot, but I like its design. I want to make upgrade...but I am undecided between sony wit no future software support, nokia x30 with no microSD and no headphone jack or... choosing another brand like Realme or Xiaomi. Any advice? Btw, I am not a fan of Samsung (a lot of bloatware and problems over time - I had several models in the past) or iPhone (expensive and closed system). Thanks in advance for the reply.

If you’re still considering, the Sony open device program offers a few more years of software support so you can still consider. Sony does allow custom OS to be installed so I think there will be unofficial support for the latest android years after Sony drops support due to how easy the devices are to develop for

I just purchased one second hand from electrical exchange shop for £50 it had a fault which ment it would crash and then reboot every three minutes or so. Not a mark on it. I discovered that the fault was related to it's current software which was android 12. I decided to try and update it , it's turning itself off all time remember.. when I eventually got it up to Android 13 it stopped crashing! So I knew I was on right track. Got android 14 installed it's now running perfectly like new. I hope this will help anyone who's Xperia keeps crashing. Took me four hours btw!

By the way, you can zoom between the lenses. It's but great, but it works. Lol. So in sense Sony's midrangers had seamless zoom between lenses before the Sony's premium devices. Lol
By the way Sony just released Xperia 5 IV wich will get shipped in about a month or so.

@@stevechannel6856 you are not getting my point - the camera is absolutely appalling on this phone. It's not below average - it's scraping the bottom of the barrel.
Comparing mirrorless to any phone camera is utterly ridiculous. I am comparing the camera in this phone to other cameras in phones.
Moreover, I can give you actual analysis data that proves it - visit DXOMark.

Sadly these new phones seem to have problems with the headphone jack. Does not know my Sennheiser Epos 660 headset is connected, and does not work with the mic of my in ear monitors. My old Asus Zenfone 6 had no problems with the same headsets none at all. This Xperia was serviced twice, did not fix the problems :( New Xperia 5 did not work any better when tested in the shop :( Just the in ear monitors seem to work with micless cable :( and these are not cheap headsets by any means.

From my experience do not buy this phone. I was sold this phone despite going to the store for another samsung and asking for a durable screen. The phone shop did not sell a protective case for it, nor did the whole of High Wycombe which is odd because the town just looks a bit like a giant mobile phone accessory market!
I ordered a case online which took a week to arrive. In that 1st week because the phone is as slippery as my johnson covered in mayonnaise i dropped it from my pocket on to the tarmac from about 3 feet and the screen cracked in the corner.
Went to the local phone repair store and guess what - no one has a replacement screen, even if you just want a cheap one to fix it and move it on. I have to send it away to a specialist and that will take 3 weeks - not ideal when you have a business and cant go more than a day without a phone without losing even more money.
Also, it didnt even come with a charger and i had to pay £30 for a cable!!
Moral is - dont buy obscure phones on a whim because no one makes anything for it. stick with your iphone / samsung
