I'm so glad they chose to integrate these dlcs into the base game. It just makes the entire package a much better , bigger experience. Once all the dlcs are out the story is going to be massive. I wasn't a fan of how the dlc in wotr was mostly its own mini thing disconnected to the main game.
Yeah with this game being shorter the dlc integrating with the main story is awesome. My issue with WOTR is the base game was already so long and the dlc either padded the game or I just never got around to doing ulbrig because act 3 and 5 already have a ton going on
I think WOTR's DLC suffered from four issues: the separate story DLC didn't have as smooth a connection to the main story as Kingmaker's, the first DLC was honestly not that good, at least not by the standards of the rest of the game, the DLC were skewed towards separate story DLC (in comparison to Kingmaker's, which had a fairly even split) and the first season pass started with _two_ separate story DLC out of the three DLC included.
I still think a separate dlc like those in wotr would be cool. imagine a 6-10 hours long one where you control a space marine party, mostly action focused.

Sacrificing health to boost powers was what drew me to blood mages in most games. Finding that good balance can easily outperform comparable classes and I hope it does the same here.

My next playthrough will have to wait until the second part of the season pass content drops at least.
The bladendancer's death from above ability doesn't seem to be working properly on my character, but Kibellah seems to be using it perfectly. It is, by far, my favorite archetype to play and I've only had eleven levels of it so far. The animations are so cool, the taking of your own health for extra damage, and getting it back after killing dudes for a cyclone of attacks each turn has been super fun.......... when it works properly. However, I can't go back to the Warrior class because of this because it's just not the "oomf" I want in my melee centric character.
I really like the addition of the Ironman mode, and it's amazing that it's separate from the difficulty itself. Can't wait to go for yet another playthrough in the future!
Looks good, but Wrath of the Righteous has taught me that they’re just going to keep adding several things to the game for years, so I’ll do my second play through when all of the dlc drops

Tis the season to acquire illness. I almost called in today. But no fever, so I figured mine is just allergies (old man things). Been waiting for the DLC to start my 2nd run. Glad to see the Grim Darkness mode. That'll justify a 2nd Dogmatic run.
This dlc has also really gave me something I wanted for a while. New areas to explore on my Voidship. I hope more dlc opens even newer areas for the ship. lol

Bladedancer // Executioner is so darn fun. I cannot speak to how powerful it is, I'm not an Ultragamer, but stacking DoTs and detonating them is just so very satisfying.

playing for the first time post 1.3 patch and with dlc, i absolutely can’t tell it was not juste the full game as intented. indeed people who played on release without it must have had a quite different experience ! if they do the same with the second dlc, I’m sure to play a second time all over! awesome game, even on ps5 with the occasional crashes
This entire expansion has the exact same feel as the base game - incredibly ambitious and incredibly heartfelt despite their limited budget and smaller studio status Love it
I was able to get this thanks to getting the Season Pass relatively cheap a while ago, but this is still my preferable type of DLC compared to some of the DLC Owlcat has released in the past for Wrath Of The Righteous.

Saw this in another review and thought it was worth posting as I don't think Mort mentioned it. There is no voiced dialogue in this DLC. Not even by the new character Kibellah. Owlcat just released Dance of Masks which is fully VA'ed but I guess Rogue Trader isn't getting that treatment yet. Mort will you be doing a video on your updating your Melee Psyker build? You mentioned in the past doing one in August but I assume that was to coincide with the DLC's original release date.
Could you maybe make a build with a pyromancer psyker mellee tank? One that does not need to fight as a range for 90% of the game before performing as advertised. The Idea of rushing into a mob horde and igniting them all at once by self immolation sound brutal AF.

Apparently lore wise the charecter is something like heretic leaning not necessarily full blown heretic

Owlcat said the DLC was gonna get voiceovers however, if it was Slandered’s vid you watched, they have it in the release version now
