Hey Stealth, so far my impression of the game is one of skepticism even with all the footage out-- what is your general overview of how the updates have shaped up? Are they trending in a positive direction? Also, I really feel like the Soviets have all the non-conventional and interesting platforms and weapons-- what's your view on how differently and how interesting the NATO lineup is to use?
If it's 1985, the UK already has sea harrier FRS1s and used them greatly in the Falklands War. They do have a radar attached but it's not that powerful.
VERY interesting mission concept! I generally find missions like this compelling, where a factor of cost-effectiveness and strategy prohibits the wanton deployment of weapons.
This is an interesting scenario, and I'm impressed to see Stealth improving his playstyle so rapidly, especially after his video on mistakes. That's some real Main Character development. I'm ever so slightly disappointed that helos were deployed, as it is practically impossible to conduct flight deck operations in Sea State 9, but I'll let Stealth off if he launches a helo without an ASW loadout to pick up the pilot of Nightmare 3-1. ;)
I love the fact that the harrier bagged one enemy plane using its autocannons, and also the fact that the game has midair collisions! (thankfully I don't need that for my Intercept as each square is 10 000 km, intentional ramming is still there of course).
Stealth, love the Sea Power content. But, IIRC, its pronounced "Tar-a-wah." 5:36: Couldn't the Harrier carry the AGM-122 Sidearm? 11:37: Yes. IRL, the AV-8A does not have radar. It was envisioned as a ground attack platform, not a fighter. And at the time, air to ground radar, at least those precise enough for CAS, had not been developed.
In your 7 mistakes video, for detection you were talking about the issue with active radar/sonar giving away your position - and I was thinking sonobuoys are not just for submarines. While ships are not good at passive listening (because they make so much noise), put a passive listener away from everyone and you can light up surface contacts too. Watching some of the early TH-cam videos has demonstrated this effect. So that Harpoon loaded P-3, should consider emptying its sonobuoy supply to give more data on what's out there!
@@adamtruong1759in game it currently does not, if you look at 4:31, he has just launched the P-3 and there are no sonobuoys in its armament, only chaff and harpoons.
@@Nobody10115 I see. Doesn't make too much sense as the same P3 can carry 8 torpedoes in a bomb bay w/ it's sonobuoys. Unless the chaff dispenser replaces it, then I can understand.

Very interesting that they've modeled all sorts of problems the weather can throw even at a modern navy. Though, pretty sure that many ships are only rated to be able to operate Helicopters at sea states 5 and below (and those are fairly large ships w/ helipads amidships, factors that make such operations "easier").
@@Stealth17Gaming Ah I see, then that should be a feature the devs should add to the game. It makes things more interesting when you can't use some of your assets at your disposal, and are forced to adapt.
I would use 1 P-3 with surface search. She could detect the fleet out of range of their sam's. Then use the other P-3 to drop sonar bouys working at longer range from the fleet.
Kirov would absolutely not laugh at 8 harpoons... Remember that the Moskva, a Slava class cruiser, was sunk by just 2 neptune missiles, neptune being largely equivalent to a modern harpoon. The Slava class is equipped with 64 S300 sea-air missiles, 6 30mm ciws guns etc. Sea skimming anti-ship missiles of this type are deadly, they are very hard to detect (without an airborne radar, from less than 20 miles, often less) and very hard to shoot. Remember that the 5 exocet fired by Argentina sunk 2 ships in the Falklands war... Unless the defending ships have a warning regarding incoming missiles, reaction time is extremely short and Russian missiles in the game are strongly buffed; Early versions of s300 were not really able to intercept such small and very low flying targets. At the time the best defense was probably the shafts, but the Kirov being a huge target... Intercepting backfires with Harriers with guns only, that was a funny fantasy too. The major threat in that scenario will probably come from Russian subs, if they have time to be in your path, with the rough sea, detecting them will be very hard. Russian should also have a recon Tu95 flying in the distance if this is a war situation, and it could direct Russian ships and bombers towards you if you break silence, or detect you with their radar but then you would have a chance to intercept. Good luck with part 2 !
I feel like this game would improve greatly from dynamic sea states. It's calm for a few hours but gradually gets worse as storms come and go and vise versa.
