True story: many years ago I worked at a futon store. The store manager was born and raised in Japan. We were working in the store together one afternoon when an attractive redheaded woman came in. I rushed to help her and spent about a half hour explaining futon and the different products we sold. She eventually left without buying anything. I commented to the manager how attractive she was and he told me he was sure she was a fox...he was deadly serious. He said the shape of her face and red hair tipped him off and he was certain she was up to no good. Yep...for realz.

Yes the spirit world and human realm do merge at times in locations I'd refer at hotspots of spiritial activity caused by rifts throughout space time, when the spirits first arrived to creat the planet sometime later most of the rifts closed leaving few of them left the few left on this planet are located in japan eastern us near Maine and Massachusetts as well as New York state, the british isles, Australia, indochina and india

My dad grew up in the mountains of North Carolina. He saw fox fire 1x in his 93 years. He said it was so strange how the glowing orbs just float around. He and his friend were within 5ft of each other. It floated up to each of their faces, stayed still for 1/2 minute or so and then it floated on its way. The common idea is that it's methane bubbles from organic decay. It's very rare to see.
I've seen the fox fire as well when I was young over the tree line where my old house was, she also knocked on my front door of the old house (I could see her snout through the house door window)
and I gave her the approval to come in by tilting my head to the couch where I sleep,
I also saw creatures with red eyes staring at me from the trees in the middle of the night when I was outside doing chores for the family it seems that I am probably not human considering all of the spirits I've seen all my life

This actually came from the Northeastern Region for some reason (we had no Japanese immigrants here, we only got Asian immigrants by 2010), and it's linked to folklore from the natives. It's just a coincidence that the two cultures have the same lore about foxes marrying causing a rain during the sun.

They are more brown in colour, and they also smell a lot (according to my relatives who had had contact with foxes, they smell so bad that they are called gambá, which means skunk, by some people). I understand what they mean, you do realize that sun showers are relatively rare events. They also are quite charming. They always make me happy.
I once saw a supernatural fox. So one day my partner and I planned a week long camping trip and selected a forest at the midway point on the way and when we got there we immediately decided to change our plans and stay there.
We set up camp and I did a personal ritual I often do which is rooted in native American spiritualism. Basically, I make a simple offering to the spirits of the forest asking for protection in return. It can be anything as long as its something the forest can use. This time it was a chickpea salad sandwich and water (there was a heavy drought here so the wildlife benefit from the food and water)
I then went down the trail to fill our water bladders up and as I got close I saw a fox with fluffy orange fur that literally glowed like it was on fire. Like the orange of a sunset as if shining through the fur. It walked behind a tree and on the other side I instead saw a white cat walk by. It continued past some other trees and disappeared.
That night in our tents I slept soundly, but my partner said she woke up to the sight of balls of light outside the tent. When I woke up there were bugs that got in the tent walking over us, which I later learned were ticks, but not a single one bit us. We were protected.
We then moved to another part of the forest some 90 miles away and I neglected to do the blessing because I thought it was the same forest, but I guess the spirits were different because the following night we were bitten by ticks, but it was fine because there was a deep creek that we swam in and the fish actually nibbled the bugs off us.
In any case, I strongly believe that on that first night I saw a fox spirit and my partner saw fox fire and my offerings were accepted and we were blessed with protection while we were in their territory.

You missed an important fact. It is/was believed in Japanese folklore that the fox's wisdom, and also their powers, grew stronger as the fox aged. The older the fox, the more intelligent they were and the better they were at using their powers. :)

I once met a weird woman and she didn't smell quite like a human. Her smell reminded me of moist fur, raw meat being smoked, oranges, old blood, and smoke. It totally creeped me out. I could tell where she was without seeing nor hearing her. I would know when she was around a corner, or behind a door and if she got closer than 2m, it was so bad that I started to sneeze uncontrollably (it was the smoke-like component that irritated my nose). The exact composition of the smell kept changing, but I was very good at identifying her regardless and there were times where it got so bad that I could tell when she passed by after 1min in which direction she had went. I never experienced anything the like and actually tried to track her and was successful. This is not something I should be able to do as a human on a human. Yet, I even managed to find her in a Christmas market despite the strong smell of spiced wine, spiced food, and the sickening smell of Swiss fondue... Yes, I seriously was able to find my colleagues among thousands of visitors, because one of them smelled that weird and strong!
There's one little detail I have left out thus far and to my shame, I was too dense to immediately recognize it for what it was, there was a pattern in the intensity and change of her scent. It repeated roughly every month...
PS: it's a true story, but she probably was no Kitsune, but someone with a disease changing her smell and I probably got hyperosmia...

I've always though this was a common belief in southern Italy, but I've been living and travelling through other places in southern and central Italy and never found anyone talking about this.

Not sure if its the same in other parts of Brazil but one time my grandma said that when it rains and the sun is out is because there was a marriage going on
one note, there's good foxes too (like kiko or tenko). most of what is talked about here are lower rank foxes, but after enough hundreds of years a kitsune if still alive will become temporal and good natured.

In Finnish we call the northern lights fires of the fox (revontulet). It is said that a fox is sweeping the sky with its tail.
