Gothel was teasing Rapunzel about her birthday, Rapunzel "dying" was a metaphor because if she stayed with Gothel, she would never be free and die a little inside, and Flynn HAD to cut her hair that short BECAUSE he had to cut at the roots so she wouldn't have any power. Also, Gothel was old; of course she'd turn to dust. And I don't remember her eyebrows glowing. 😂 Also, Flynn brought their daughter back, and Rapunzel likes Eugene because he's being himself. 😂
You asked what Eugene meant by "if you do this then you will die." Let me explain. Near the beginning of the movie when Rapunzel is making the deal with "Flynn" to take her to see the lights, she tells him "And when I make a promise, I never ever break it." This establishes the sacredness of promises as far as Rapunzel is concerned. So fast forward to Eugene dying of the knife wound from Gothel, Eugene now knows that Rapunzel promised to go with Gothel forever if she lets her heal him. If he lets her heal him, her fate is sealed. Even if Eugene could somehow rescue her later, Rapunzel would have to violate her sacred promise to Gothel. Or else Rapunzel would say with Gothel forever. Either way, it is, in a sense, death for Rapunzel. So Eugene had to sacrifice his life to save her from that awful promise. He had no choice. He had to cut her hair to prevent her from having to face that promise she made.
I love this movie and I have a great memory of seeing it at home with my little brother and father. At first he wasn't watching it with us, just sitting on the couch. But when the horse showed up my dad laughed so hard, he put down his ipad and watched with us. He loved the movie. It was so great🥰❤️
rapunzel is one of my favorite disney princesses. She's so beautiful. Her eyes are green, clear and that hair oh my gosh. Not only is she beautiful on the outside, but also on the inside. My heart melts with everything she does. .I appreciate her because she is one of the first princesses to be portrayed as independent and strong. She does a lot by herself and is really a hero in the story. She doesn't need a prince kissing her to get rid of a curse.
I love that you said something about the flower in the beginning. My one issue with the entire movie was the queen using the entire flower!! Couldn’t we have used a petal and tried to plant more of this miraculous plant? No one thought hey we should study this thing. Nope! Uproot it and then boil it. 😒🤦♀️ Great reaction. Love this movie.

I noticed that people are confused when Flynn says then you will die. It's not literal, but her spirit will die. Who she is, she will become numb because know she knows the truth. It will eat away at her. Reminds me of Rose in Titanic, when Jack says that one that fire will burn out (or something like that). I know this because it happend to me in my relationship, so it hits me everytime someone says something like this. Sorry went a little deep there🤣🙈😅😄

I love Tangled! When my son was four he wanted to be Mother Gothel for Halloween and I went as Rapunzel and we thought we were hysterical 🤷

The king and queen are the worst people in the movie, Gothel used the flower and put a basket over it so technically it was still available to everyone but then the flower gets turned into soup as a one time cure because obviously the queen is SO MUCH MORE important than everyone else.

what i like about this movie is that gothel's just. a woman. like yes she's like ancient because of how long she's been using the flower and then rapunzel to keep herself young, but she has no powers. no extraordinary gifts. it's just her. and she gaslights rapunzel the entire movie, manipulating her. if you look closely, when she kisses rapunzel's head, she kisses her hair, not her forehead

Completely unrelated: anyone notice the three days coincidence? Ariel and Eric have three days together and they fall in love instantly. Rapunzel and Flynn go on this trip to see the lanterns in the span of time that Gothel’s gone which she says takes three days and they fall in love too (granted it’s more believable and genuine) but the coincidence is interesting to notice. Disney has a thing for 3 day romances😅
