I conceal carry regardless of a permit, I have a Constitutional right to carry. The right to bear arms shall not be Infringed..
I will NOT invest 16hrs of training and go through all this BS to get a CCW to carry in my living room.
I am a CCW holder now and things are reasonable when it comes to training and fees.
Again punishing law abiding citizens while criminals do what they will.
Any training and fees required by the government to excersise your god given right is not reasonable.
A thousand dollars is reasonable??? Not for many who can’t afford that every two freaking years. It’s ridiculous. The wealthy can protect themselves. The poor can’t??? Don’t remember seeing that in the Constitution. All gun control is unreasonable. It’s also illegal.

I went through everything and priced it out and it will cost over $800, probably closer to $900 to get qualified and pay for all the BS! That's NOT reasonable at all. AND this is BEFORE SB2 goes into effect next year!
The variables are due to ammunition cost and having to train with the CCW instructor AND the qualifications with the local Sheriff.
And to top it all off, my county is delaying everything so that it will drag out until next year when SB2 goes into effect, then they can start charging more and denying people for not meeting the 16 hr training requirements.
Once those go into effect, the costs will DOUBLE for the CCW training. The instructor will be training half the amount of students in the same time period, so they will have to double the costs to make up for it.

1. You don’t have to have a ccw to conceal carry in your living room.
2. All gun carry permits are a violation of the US Constitution, there is no way that turning a right into a privilege is reasonable.

Many of these are valid points that will certainly end up back in court. Two key things we learned in CA CCW training this year: 1) the weapon is always well-concealed unless it is to be fired, and only in a felony level self-defense situation; and 2) any shooting by a CCW carrier will be in court the next day regardless of location and justification and you will be sued. The AG and DA's are all waiting for bad shootings to use to attack and further weaken this permit. Each of us are representing all of us - so be smart and stay trained.

Yet another reason I left kalifornia in 2006. I moved to Nevada but it became eastern kalifornia, so I now live in South Dakota which has constitutional carry.

People will just quit getting permits. These laws defeat the purpose of carrying.
I think they met to write the bill like this: If your a good guy you can't carry a gun, if your a bad guy you don't need a ccw you can carry a gun anywhere, the 2nd amendment is for you.
Good guys will get no CCW and bad guys will get no bail!

Seriously they gives out permit in California easier than before but this bill is like you cant bring it almost anywhere, so it becomes like CCW is like a money for govt.
I appreciate people like you guys that advocate for firearm training at the will of the individual. It's unfortunate that there are people that don't take responsibility and get proper training, but the government has no right to infringe on our god given right to protect ourselves. We the people need to stand up for our rights and stop allowing the government to rule us. The people in the US that aren't ok with our sovereignty being stripped from us need to Unite. There are a lot of us and I know there's a fire in every one of us.
The notion of gun free zones is unconstitutional....and the proposition these are "safe spaces" is an oxymoron. CA CCWs permit is also unconstitutional as its process denies those without means of time and money...total bravo sierra....

I'm awaiting final approval for CCW here in LA county. This law will not be enforceable or pass the supremet court.
Early next year I have to renew my California CCW that presently costs me about $1,000 a year. The Sheriff's fees are very reasonable but with the Verboten Areas and all the added cost for the new renewal requirements. I'm beginning to wonder if I will renew.
Damn! Here in WI it's less than $50! I just purchased a Sif Sauer P365X Macro and a Canik TP9SFX. As I do research, I find out that NEITHER of these handguns is legal in California! I'm trying to move back, so this is a big problem. That and the fact that they'll be raping my wallet to stay in compliance. Crazy.
@@conga205you can bring off roster guns with you if you move to Cali from out of state. Also, Cali just approved a Cali compliant p365 to be added to the roster, so they are available to purchase in Cali now.

My CCW renewal is $85 for 5 years and I can carry any gun I want. Not just 1 gun the county let me qualify with.

I think it’s time to leave California. It’s just gotten out of hand in terms of being anti gun. I once saw Governor Newsom at Neiman Marcus. He had over a dozen CHP Officers protecting him. So if California Tax payers have to pay for his armed security detail, then I propose a bill, to take his security detail away from him. That way he will have to get a CCW permit and see how difficult it is to deal with SB2.

I just read SB2 which Governor Newsom just signed into law. I am appalled by this new law. It effectively takes away my right as a law abiding gun owner and a CCW permit holded to carry a gun in California. How dare The State of California make a law telling me that my church must post a sign to make it legal for me to exercise my 2nd Amendment rights in my own church. Governor Newsom and the State of California have once again overstepped their authority with SB2. SB2 is shamefull. We the people have the right to keep and bear arms and our California State government is trying to take that right away from us. This is unacceptable!
My family and I have lived in California for over 55 years. We have witnessed and continue to witness the moral decline of our state, Many of our government leaders would rather lower our comunity standards, in order to get elected, than stand up for what is actually right. This is unacceptable!
After reading SB2, I have joined the NRA and other groups to actively oppose Governor Newsom and his unconstitional and immoral laws. I will not be voting for Governor Newsom in the future and I will now be activly opposing him.
Thank goodness we have the U.S. Constitution and the Bill of Rights that protect our precious freedoms from laws like SB2 and politicians like Governor Newsom.

@@deejay7016 Some of the training classes in Socal are $500-$700. Thats just the fee for the class not including the price of background checks, fees to the issuing county, etc.
To out the cherry on top, its a 50/50 if you’ll receive one.

Going thru the process now for my CCW in OC. Waited 6 months, did my interview, & livescan. Got a letter in the mail requesting a psychological evaluation that is going to cost $450 dollars. Talk about taxing the poor & making it as hard as possible to let law abiding citizens carry.

If you want an answer to your specific question. The answer is NO, it’s not legal in Ca to drive around with a firearm. Never was legal in recent history. It must be locked in your trunk, or compartment, separate from ammunition.

I was trained by my grandfather best friend he is like a uncle he was a retired swat leader. But i still had to go through a legitimate firearms instruction school. How does that make any sense? It's just another way to force folks to spend money.

This is what I don't understand about the idiots creating these laws. You're targeting people that are trained and went through background checks to obtain ccw for protection.
Criminals don't follow laws. If you want to target them start making harsher punishments for illegally owning a firearm. Stop letting criminals with multiple offenses walk free.
