- Hello All, in this episode we work through to find a usable method to upload the tune onto the ML55. It took some time and testing to find a method that worked, but in the end we got it done! Big shoutout to Tony and RaceIQ for all the help!

Don’t worry about the pixels on clock … they’ll fix themselves. I have a similar ML55 (2000). I’ve owned it for 10 years and put 100,000 miles on it (194,000 now). It’s still my favorite car ever and even without a tune makes me giggle every time I stomp on it. Great video!
The pixels actually magically fixed themselves lol! You’re right.
It is such an awesome vehicle, we enjoy it every time out also.

you should definitely put a cold air intake on that to improve the getty up and low end rpms especially with that tune get some nice noise
It’s already getting pretty cold air from factory intake but I do plan on building something down the line 👍

Hey with the stage one and driving it over time now, what’s the mpg in town and highway? Mainly Highway?
Pretty much the same tbh, maybe a bit better around 15 in town highway around 20
Hey I’m tuning with RaceIQ too and I’m having a hard time trying to figure out how to jump the 16 and 1. I don’t know if my timing is off but I can get the tune to download
I don’t know what kind of wire to jump 16 and 1 with I’m very new to this
Tony can probably instruct you on that better but it may be you need to to wait for a minute after turning key to position two before starting tune download

Talking about fuel, what’s the average consumption and the difference between this and the 63? Thx again.
They are pretty even honestly but 63 is a little lower on average. Typically about 13-15 city and 18-21 highway

Did you disconnect fan to read ECU? I have 2001 ML55 and when I read 2.0 it states ECU NUMBER NOT FOUND. I have battery hooked up.
Yes I did, make sure you give it about 30sec while the key is in on position before trying to read.
For reading ECU DATA, do pins 16 and 1 have to be jumped as well? Thanks!

Hi from Western Australia. Is it like night and day performance wise between the ml 63 and 55? I am currently in a X5 4.4 V8 which I love but want to move to a 63 soon.cheers
hello there! In most terms, yes, it is a pretty significant difference but I enjoy both very much, just in different ways. The ML63 is much more modern and luxury than the ML55, and performance wise is a beast with the M156.. that said the ML55 is no slouch!

How much of a change is it without the sprint booster installed or connected? I assume the SB is helping with butt dyno feel if its connected.
SB has been on for a while so the change of the tune was still very noticeable. With a 20hp gain, it's basically gonna feel like less effort to get moving in all scenarios. Nothing crazy, but great results for something as simple as software change.
Subscribed as you are tickling similar engine I just got on the ML 500 m113 5.0. Am looking at installing a single rear mounted turbo with upgrade injectors. I need to download the map etc what type of obd reader and writer do you find the best option? Cheers
Rear mount would be awesome! The Galetto cable I used is pretty much industry standard as far as I’ve seen, easy option and pretty cheap.

Hi, how much NM of torque does your ML55 have at the crank.
Stock was 376tq, should be around 396tq now
what year they start ME2.0
Probably around 97’ or so… not sure
Are you going to remove the resonator?

@@daveh2612 need to make an update vid on the exhaust, second cats and resonator deleted. May be changing out the primaries soon for metallic cats too
@@ANDERZENAMG yep I wasn’t sure if you did a video on the exhaust yet. I’ve yet to remove my resonator, but absolutely needs to be done. Stock ML has zero exhaust note. All you hear when you rev is the oil pump. Lol
@@daveh2612 yea it is definitely lackluster, even with the way it is now not great, the muffler is a big part of that.

You may have the ME2.8 which is WAY easier to tune. Definitely worth it!
