[Woodworking DIY] Make your own table saw with Makita circular saw / Main body production

  • Until now, when pulling wood vertically, I used to cut it with a circular saw ruler, but I couldn't cut it to the same dimensions, so I decided to make my own table saw.
This video is the main body production of table saw making.
Next time, I will send you about the circular saw modified for the table saw.
We will continue to make stands and parallel rulers for table saws.
    Please look forward to it.
You can see the article that explains the contents of the video in detail from the bottom.
Please refer to it if you like.

an essential feature of a table saw is the ability to easily make precise depth of cut adjustments. this allows you to use a flat grind blade to cut dadoes, lap joints, tenons, rabbets, box joints and much more. without that, functionality is extremely limited, and the only thing you can do with this that you cant do with an edge guide is rip small pieces. i did not see a depth adjustment modification in this or your next video, so purely from the standpoint of functionality i do not see how the benefits of a detailed build like this outweigh the costs
if you wanted to mount your circular saw upside down to do rip cuts in spite of safety issues detailed below, you could just mount it on a piece of plywood and clamp a straight edge for a fence for pretty much the same functionality and without all the fuss you've gone through. probably not a good a idea, but not worse than what you've done, and a lot less work
in short, your design is not functional enough to be worth making. from a safety standpoint, the picture is much worse. a blade depth adjustment typically raises and lowers a riving knife with the blade, which most carpenters, woodworkers, insurance carriers, and industry associations consider an essential safety feature to prevent kickback and serious injury to hands or other parts of the body. this judgement is based on analysis of tens of thousands of injuries that occur annually in the US alone, with medical costs exceeding 2 billion dollars a year (tinyurl.com/2pek8bkn). instead of a riving knife, which raises and lowers with the blade and maintains a constant distance from the blade, you could fashion a splitter, which is fixed and develops a gap from the blade (and less effectiveness) as the blade is lowered, but i dont even see this rudimentary feature on your saw. without a riving knife or at least a well-designed splitter, operating a table saw like yours without a guard or anti-kickback pawls seems extremely dangerous to me, and i would urge extreme caution if using such a design in the form presented for any purpose, including brief, occasional cuts. maybe not worth it
however, a similar design for a router table, incorporating a fence and sled, would be very functional and wouldnt implicate all the safety stuff of mounting a circular saw upside down

Wonderful job! Congratulations! I would like to suggest you in order to get more safety that your on-off interruptor be changed to a contactor. Using a contactor in case of electric power goes off and when the energy come back your circular saw will remain off until you put the power on again.

The Makita Circular saw is just north of 200 dollars itself, the wood for that project, mostly 3/4" good grade Plywood is about 60 dollars a sheet, the paint, hardware and other fasteners probably another 60 dollars and he's still missing a Rip Fence, any safety guards, and has to lift it all up and prop it with sticks to adjust the saw depth, with no slot for angle cutting...
OR, he could take about 300 dollars and go buy a ready built REAL portable Table saw like a Dewalt, that has a Rip Fence, that's gear adjustable, all the safety guards, a push stick, and precision saw depth and angle adjustments...
Sure is fun watching these videos, isn't it !

@@NaotoWorkingStudio20200316 FINE JOB!, But the blurring of the blade is clearly due to it not being well centered on the motor shaft. Most probably because the blade needs a thin ring to center it perfectly. Check the diameter of the hole in the center of the blade versus the shaft diameter!

You really build a lot of great things, but a lot of safety devices are missing here!
    No emergency stop switch,
    no riving knife,
    no protective hood,
no correctly aligned and fixed rip fence that can also be pulled back.
I'm not sure if it's really worth building something like this yourself?

Good thought. He has a vacuum running which would be useless if air didn't enter from somewhere. Probably just the blade slot. It would be interesting to see if that's enough to keep the saw motor cool. Perhaps he should cut some vents to allow more air to come through. Excellent thinking.

This is not a table saw as there is no adjustment to angle the blade and the motor is far weaker, making it useless for hard deep material. Additionally it's quite a bit of work/expense for no real added value ~ a track system is far better for this hand saw.
