- Getting this Czechoslovakian T-72 Tank to run again has definitely taken a lot of time and effort.
I hope all the hard work is going to be worth it.

Imagine casually seeing a T-72 on british soil while you are on your way to the pub 😅
I’m from/in Hawaii & first thing I’d think is “we at bovington? Maybe Dave finally had enough a that other dorks bs?”
A little better than seeing same vehicle on the way HOME from said pub! Methinks one would hope that one was already wearing brown trousers.............
I know! it's a little unnerving.
One would be obliged to get out the way if one did, if time allowed of course. A scarey thought, I thought.
Well, Putin does have ambitions.! 😉
"There's a chap called Zelensky on line 1 that wants to talk to you about that T72. On line 2 there's some woman called Greta that wants to sue you or something."
😂😂😂
Comedy Gold .
Take the call from Zelensky but tell Greta to go forth and multiply😉🤣
@@MC-nb6jx OH God nooooooo , Greta Thunberg going fourth and multiplying is a real bad idea . One Regretta Bumburp is more than enough for this world .
lol
The smile on Adams face makes me think all the hard work was worth the effort ? .
Either that or the smoke has gone to his head 🤣🤣
@@jackpoole6120 could be a bit of both
Almost as smokey as our old Chieftain bridgelayers in Germany in the 1990's. "Where will 7 Bde attempt a river crossing?" "Just look for the smoke sir"
Desert rats baby!! Fallingbostel and hohne !
lmao
Two-stroke engine, they didn't have a choice in the matter same as T-64 XD
The T72 may be designed without paying heed to any kind of maintenace in the field, or even back at a depot, but damn, it does sound good and looks great. WHAT A BABE! Well done chaps!
"Just what is he doing in that drivers compartment ?" The look on his face speaks volumes before he starts it😂
I was thinking the same thing. Who did they have stashed in there lol?
That’s a clever (and fun) way to trim back the foliage at the edges of a driveway 👍
I'm impressed how effective smoke mode is.
Well it works well for the red arrows.. it would definitely be obvious if you were running on red though.
@@Savagetechie British armour uses smoke dischargers which fire grenades which nowadays have something akin to thermite particles to make the smoke hot to obscure in the infrared. I wonder if the smoke mode on modern Russian tanks puts extra additives into the fuel.
@@kalliste23 I would imagine they do, after all thermal imaging is completely ubiquitous these days so a straight smoke screen is only really confusing infantry.
It's used as a visual obscurant on pretty much every modern tank.
@@kalliste23 Smoke dischargers are also a thing on a Soviet vehicles, these are 2 different systems. Smoke grenades allow you a smoke screen in seconds, these days those smoke discharges are automatic and tied to laser warning system or some other passive defense sensors. Engine smoke is something that can give you longer last screen to allow you retreat or obscure movement of the vehicles following the tank with ESS. I imagine by the nature of how ESS is working, that smoke will be quite hot, not sure it is hot enough to completely conceal the vehicle from hi-grade thermal, I imagine will very much depend on ambient conditions.
Hello guys, I’ve been watching you bring the T-72 back to life and I have witnessed the crap you have had to go through to get to where you are now, but I have to say what a lovely machine she is now it’s sorted, she sounds stunning and looks like it drives really well, great job guys and well done. 👍
Given how cold april has been, we must all thank you for your contribution to global warming.
I've heard of gorillas in the mist but tankers in the smog is a new one 👍
Finally Adam broke into a smile 😀 I think he secretly loves working on the T72 👍
Correction NOBODY likes working on T-72s NOBODY
Smile through the pain aha
Nice to see your reaching out and making contacts with other museums. Nice work on the repair.
Museum? it's really the ADF's new secret military installation.
I've always liked the look of the T-72/80/90 series of tanks. Glad you got yours up and running! You guys are magicians when it comes to getting these old warhorses working again. I hope we get to see more of the T-72 in future videos. Well done fellas!
Glad to see that Ted had it all in hand. More smoke than a Black 5 running on Polish coal!
Looked just like a normal Class 37 cold start tbh😂
"Tanks for watching" 😊
Tanks alot.
😂
Isn't that usually preceded by "one less for tomorrow"? 😂
I spent some time in and around a T-72 here in the UK (the dark green and then tan coloured one at the War & Peace show years back). It will always be my favourite. It's just so stupidly violent, noisy, dirty, and my god the way the fan blasted a 30ft tall tornado of dust behind it. Say what you will, but they have so much personality and so much presence about them. Absolutely excellent. Well done on getting it fixed!
Greetings from Western Australia.
Aus Armour and Mr Hewes are my favourite tank restoration channels. I always look forward to new videos 🙂
Gooday from Queensland, me too. 🇦🇺
@@paul4124 UK ex-pat from Queensland to.
Amazing how quiet it is - coming from a background of growing up next to a tank park in Germany!!
For the smoke, call master milo in the Netherlands. He is just repairing one!
great channel!
I will give you full credit, where credit is due. That job was a nightmare, the weather was in the toilet and as always, you fellows simply put your heads down and bulled your way through it. Very impressive.
There wasnt that much not working.
I just love how you guy’s just fix everything and be so entertaining at the same time.
👍🏻
🤣 we just winging it
The T72 sounds and looks great, well done all.
Seeing the security camera got me thinking, maybe you should have a gate guardian .great to see the T72 running after all that hard work .
Nice work boys, a very respectable carbon footprint there on startup ;)...
Greta will have to check it after she comes on her private jet :)))
T-72 defence mechanism is much like the defence mechanism of the crew when they see a Bear charging at them , basically it soils itself and disappears in a cloud of toxic fumes . Which is the same defence mechanism I would have if I saw a T-72 charging down on me . Great work the T-72 looks and sounds good , thank you for another great video .
Lol 😂
I dont think its for the defence of the tank, its a smoke screen to make for infantry running behind the tank
Sounds just like the Donald 🤡in US court.😂

G`Day from Oz 🇦🇺
You should spell it GIDDAY not G DAY . Cheers from 🦘🐨🇭🇲
Got some nostalgic Mastermilo feelings, seeing that thing putting a smoke screen over the entire neighbourhood. Well done guys!
Lol allegedly back in the day as a youngun in the sticks we used to drill and tap the exhaust manifold and run a line through the bulk head, back into the car with an fairy liquid bottle of old oil in the glovebox ,if plod were behind or more often than not ya mates two squirts and you were away, they had to stop coz they couldn't see the road👊those were the old days when people owned up n said "it's a fair cop",because then if you'd been messing about up to no good the buggers chased ya down😂,not like today...lol seeing that smoke brought back some memories😂Cracking videos and a pleasure to watch with English narration and pronunciation, fcuk stop oil,i bet not one of them have a tank!👊
Ha, my mate had a race-prep Suzuki GT380 two-stroke triple which would drop in to smoke mode if you rode it too gently. You had to cane it for about 3 miles to clear its throat (and everyone elses).
Gretta gonna love this episode but whom gives a shit you got her running, well done crew.
Greta will come and check it from her hard-earned and paid for private jet. Or a super-privileged figure was chosen to gaslight you about what you have and she would like to take from you. And those who sent her. She was after all purely manufactured 'public' figure. To shield wealthy interests.
Every time I see a new Mr Hewes, I have to smile.
Those fork were bending nicely! That’s some smokescreen!

"Tonight Matthew, I'm going to be ... a T-72 battle tank!"
Adam is rapidly becoming a very experienced tank driver

"just don't mention the war!"
Это советский танк а не русский ,россия даже нормально отремонтировать советское наследство не в состоянии

Another ‘ripper video from you guys. Never seen ‘smoke mode’ in action. I guess it would let the opposition know where to lob the next shells. Many thanks for sharing, Greetings from Tasmania Australia 👍😁🇦🇺🦘
Bloody well done! Amazing job getting it running and it looks, sounds and round fabulous! Very impressive work.
You've done a good job on it ! By tank standards, it's apparently a hot rod of a machine to drive. Make it jump obstacles and you could enter Tank Biathlon !
Now that is top tier "Rolling Coal"
Until you said about 'smoke mode' I was thinking that it was worse than Master Milo - and that's saying something :D
Thumbs WAY UP , for the "Green Peace Left The Chat" Good title... "Soul Destroying Knuckle Bashing" . another GREAT LINE>
That's got to be the cold start to beat all cold starts ......... please leave smoke mode on for each start !!!!! so much fun
Bet you are glad you didnt start it in the shed. I am smiling while imagining the look on an innocent coming up the drive to meet that approaching them. That smoke was IMPRESSIVE, also does a great job of taking the top turf off the grass :-) magic post, thanks.
If you pause at 9.46, you get the most beautiful picture of the cold war Trio. 😊
Love it. Green Laning in the most un-green green machine there is. The smoke screen was epic, but hearing it running and driving is big-grin-factor. Great video to watch and well done on getting it working probably better than new.
8:02 I see one of the recommended videos in my TH-cam sidebar is ‘how to level ruts in your lawn’. The algorithm knows all.
Awesome I love an engine start with plenty of smoke 👍👍👍👍😁😁
Coldstarts with massive smoke are so awesome 😋💪😈
definately "Smokey and the Bandit", great Video yet again.
well done lads 😅IT'S ALIVE 💥fantastic looking tank always one of my favourites along with the chieftain 👍roll on next video lads 😊stay safe you crazy kids😂
Good on you lads. I know it's been a total ball ache but, it sounds good and looks great 👍. If you ain't going to keep it, you could always sell it to a farmer for ploughing! 😄.
Congratulations guys!! All that knuckle busting finally paid off!! Hat's off to your perseverance!
Fantastic! 09:00 Could just imagine that T-72 working it's way through a village "back in the day".
Well done lads. Pain in the arse component removed form the belly, repaired, installed and engine started! I would say thats a fix and not o russian to english dictionary in sight!
I got bitten by Mosquito last night while doing a bit of spannering. I think you've got that issue solved! Great work and nothing quite like a first start.
Good Monday morning 🌄. What a nice surprise to see the t72 running. Enjoy, and be safe.
But ..but , the polar bears! 😂😂
Unbelievable fun . Thank you.
Another great repair and an awesome video. Thanks guys !
Absolutely worth the work, big smile on my face watching this video!!
'that just shot out lot liquid' was jack talking about his mum? 🤣🤣
New name for the tank..
That was very good. Well persevered on what was obviously a challenging repair..
It’s a Very sporty looking tank
In some old videos it is described as a medium tank. While in the West they groupthinked themselves into MBT.
top video, good to see the airstart working

Great video thank you
You just got my week off to a good start - thanks guys!
Sounds bloody awesome that T-hing !!
You lads are now part of my morning regime here in Australia. Reminds me of my youth and fixing up 'paddock bashers' BUT with freaking tanks. :)
Outstanding effort lads!
The tank was just releasing all of the pent up “How dare you’s”. Well done. Great vid, keep’em coming.
WOW. That was great Some power behind that
Hurrah to Steve! Glad you guys got it working
What a bloke
@@MrHewes He really is. I heard (not confirmed) that Steve went from working on race-car engines, to working on tank engines.
This thing is amazing, well done Adam !! (and Joe)

Awesome job 👍 smoke mode reminds me of a few of my 300tdi discos after I’ve opened the pumps up 🤣
Awesome work fellas
it seems running very well. good job mate!
Yeah you ought to be proud of that one. Lots of hard work on it.
Good job.
