The amount of bs i smell from this woman is astounding xp
yep. I smell cover up
She was paid to lie for OceanGate. That's the impression I am getting.
@@Romulan2469 I don’t think Renata was paid but, I do think she’s such best friends with Stockton Rush and Wendy…super loyal like siblings tbh. She was one of the first who signed on when the price was 150k.
@@KrisKk08 It's more than just friendship. She's a member of the Explorers' Club who funded Stockton's reckless project. She has blood on her hands too. That's why a lawyer is by her side.
I find Lochridge's testimony more credible than this lady's testimony.
Same here. I 'm not sure of her motivation, but I don't find her credible. She was a "mission specialist". Read: tourist.
Definitely. Lochridge is not the only one to describe Stockton Rush's control freakery and recklessness, which has now got five people, including himself, killed.
The term 'Mission Specialist' is a joke. She was an unqualified passenger, with enough cash to buy an overpriced ticket, nothing more.
Obviously. Lochridge is so far the only one with common sense who has testified to date. No wonder OceanGate hates him so much. They love Renata Rojas, naive, gullible, lacking in common sense and loaded with cash, exactly the kind of person Stockton could dupe.
@@harrietharlow9929 she was best friends with stockton plus rush she went on a few dives in titan
Lol. she doens't know wtaf she's talking about. You can't recollect why he took the controls but you knew he had to maneuver out and had a better view...... Make it make sense "mission specialist"
Mission SPecialist is the title the company gave paying passengers to compete the cosplay of "explorer". The whole thing was a joke from one end to the other, and hubris from passengers and the owner got themselves killed.
Bless her heart. She attended the talk where he described safety as pure waste, and still said she thought Oceangate was focused on safety. I just can't take her or her recollections too seriously.
She said she wasn't paying attention. She's clearly another daddy's girl with too much money and not enough common sense to pick up on what is going on around her.
Oceangate found a company woman. "everything was safe, everyone was safe, there were never any issues... ever." (ignoring the shattered remains of her submarine on the sea floor)
Nothing to see here…
@@Nooby-u7qplease disperse 😂
Renata Rojas is bought and paid for by OceanGate. Most likely Wendy Rush is using her to protect the organization and to try and damage the credibility of Lochridge. This will backfire obviously since Lochridge is completely truthful here.
Yes, a true Company Loyalist. There's another word for it. PERJURY.
@@Storm-lg4mxRenata is not an employee she’s a mission specialist. But SR was her best friend 😊
She's lost all her credibility.
Stop calling any of these people "mission specialists"! Such a BS title.
Ffs I didn’t expect or want more drama to this. But if I had to choose I’d say Lochridge was far more convincing.
Yeah, given he was a high-level employee and she was a customer, I’m inclined to believe the guy who, you know, actually worked there.
I agree. And he kept the "receipts", so to speak. Smart enough to cover his a$$. DL's testimony was the one I was most interested in.
Well this is complete BS
I don’t know this lady but she seems hella coached for some BS
Sounds massively embarrassed she was dumb enough to pay money to take part in this. I believe the whistleblower's testimony far more than this.
@@MANDEE7962 she's also got a lawyer sitting a foot away from her. I agree with everyone's right to counsel, but she's not a defendant. She's got an agenda beyond simply getting to the truth.
According to an article in the New Yorker, from July 2023, "it's illegal to transport passengers in an unclassed, experimental submersible." That's why "everyone was classified as a 'mission specialist'" instead.
Exactly.
Holy shih. The egregious, unforgiveable details just keep piling up
Ah makes sense. I thought they did it so they can use it as a selling point and give his death machine more credibility.
Yes exactly! That's why none of the claims that this was a safe company and a self vessel are horseshit. Oceangate did everything in their power to avoid rules and regulations that all other diving operations observe and practice. I think anyone saying otherwise has either been paid off or threatened with legal recourse
Also notice this the only person to have a lawyer with them lol
I smell a rat.....!!!! And the word specialist used very loosely.....!!!!
She just doesn't come off as very credible here. Lochridge's story is. You can tell he's upset even with the retelling of the story. I don't think he's that good of an actor. She, on the other hand, seems to be trying to cover and minimize.
"I don't knooooooow why he had to take the controls."
You don't? OK.
"He was driving the whole time."
"Except for the last part."
"Yeah, the last part we were trying to maneuver out of the prow. Lochridge had a better view going into the viewport..."
OK, but you JUUUUUST claimed to have not known why... Now you're claiming it was merely because he had a better view.
She can't even keep her story straight for 20 seconds.
Considering she is still employed by Ocean Gate I don’t believe her testimony in the slightest.
@@JB_II she's employed by Ocean Gate? She was a rich tourist. "Mission specialist" is less official of a title than my kids' title of "Junior Ranger" when they get a sticker at a National Park visitor center.
When did she become an Ocean Gate employee?
@@Wrenchmonkey1 yeah my mistake. I watched a longer version of her testimony and it explained what a ‘mission specialist’ was. It was their way of getting around things. Either way I stand by my statement that I didn’t believe anything she said.
@JB_II oh, I totally agree, she's not credible in any way. Even if she hadn't come off as a liar like she did, she also has zero subject matter expertise.
Not shown in this excerpt, but I also noticed that she really fumbled a lot of details regarding the history of the Olympic class ships including placing Britannic's sinking in the wrong war. While not necessarily pertinent to the specific case, but it doesn't look good to be speaking on a subject and not getting the basics right and not even catching yourself.
Yeah she came off like an obsessed fan of anyone who would take her to Titanic. I can’t help but feel like the tears were maybe a liiiittle bit of survivor’s guilt knowing it very well coulda been her.
Yeah she still wants to get to titanic and knows that if she says anything negative about the “pilot” or craft that she’s likely to not be welcome regardless of how much cash she has.
This woman is the most pathetic ‘coached witness’ ever. It seems clear she has some financial entanglement being in that club and so many multi-thousand dollar dives.
There is no chance she is more credible than Lochridge…who’s is my hero in this whole thing.
How can you continue cheering ocean gate like all of this impropriety and callous disregard for safety has been exposed.
She seems to have learned just how to phrase her responses to be as positive as possible…like a lawyer coached her or something… hmm?
She’s basically the only one of the people in these testimonies that I have seen SO FAR that has a lawyer sitting right next to her.. Although I’m guessing we’ll see more of them in the coming weeks
Dude. Look at the lawyer. Almost like he has a gun to her while she's talking. 😂😂
When you are complicit in the events which led to a tragedy your recollections will be biased to protecting your own ego
I’m not sure why this lady goes so hard for OceanGate. She had been on several dives with Stockton, it could have easily been her down there on June 18.
She wants to go back and no one would take her (she thinks) if she bad mouths the “pilot” or ship. Yet she’s badmouthing a legitimate pilot.
I smell cover up with this "mission specialist"...
Well, not so much a cover up at this point, but it was how OceanGate was bypassing regs regarding taking passengers on an uncertified submersible, 100%.
I believe David and find his testimony far more credible than her's. He has the receipts.
I’m gonna go ahead and say the trained submersible pilot has a more objective accounting of what happened
Hopefully, we can take away valuable lessons from this tragic incident that could have been avoided. While there is nothing wrong with individuals constructing submarines, planes, or trains, those who profit from offering rides on their homemade scientific ventures must adhere to stricter regulations, certifications, oversight, and be accountable to a higher authority. It is evident that this individual was not only self-absorbed but also excessively engrossed in his work, showing complete disregard for the safety and well-being of his passengers.
Her testimony is questionable. She is too emotional and doesn't have the engineering expertise as Locheridge. She may be trying to cover up things as she may be close to Stocktons wife. Just an opinion.
She seems like she has some skin in the game of defending Rush. I don't care how uneducated or ignorant you are, if you're on a small submersible as a tourist and you see two guys arguing over who should get the thing unstuck, you're gonna remember it. I think Lochridge is telling the truth.
She's afraid of getting blamed. Rightly so.
She is clearly and uncomfortably, lying. Very poor at it as well. Is the other guy an attorney for her?
She seems delusional
I believe David Lochridge.
Rojas is basically a groupie.
Looked her up. She's a Mexican banker. Started out in Oceanography, but it was too hard and filled with men, so she got a finance degree. She's a tourist who bought her position as "mission specialist".
Truth may come out when Rojas submits her personal video (as offered) of the Andrea Doria dive. Presumably, that video can compare her version and David Lochridge's testimony about Stockton Rush's behavior when he crashed the Titan into the Andrea Doria wreck.
The sub wasn’t the Titan. Titan had no top dome. I believe the Doria dive was on Cyclops but it might have been Antipodes. From Lockridge’s testimony and his saying it was a game controller helm it was very likely Cyclops, built by Oceangate.
@@QwazyWabbit- - - - we are talking about comparing testimony between Rojas and lockridge about the Doria debacle.... Rojas video would shed light on the more truthful account. :-). Cheers
-J
Lochridge's account is quite consistent when it comes to the behavior of Rush in other situations.
she sounds just a child would when lying, and the parents can see right through them.
Oceangate referred to all paying passengers as "mission specialists" to skirt legalities.
What im getting from her is that she had no idea what was going on or that they were in a really dangerous situation she just trusted the pilot and didn't care at all, im rather inclined to trust Lochridge who has experience piloting the vessel. All she said is that oh things weren't as dramatic as he said and that she didn't know why Lochridge was asking for controls, notice how he doesn't refute that Stockton threw the controller on Lochridge's head and popped the button out with his baby rage
Has Lochridge responded after hearing her testimony? I don't buy her account of this. I'd love to hear a rebuttal from him.
@@steveturner3999 his original testimony is sufficiently damning, to be honest. She just embarrassed herself. No reason for him to respond at all. It's pretty obvious which of them was telling the truth and actually knew what the fuck they were talking about, and it wasn't her.
Everyone is covering their asses. Lochridge was the only one with any brains and morals.
I’ll take the subject matter expert, Lockridge, over this testimony. The confidence and clearness of his testimony against her hesitancy and vagueness is telling. He’s got details that she doesn’t. She’s clearly being vague so that she can deceive easier. He’s a professional submersible pilot she’s a “mission specialist” which is a semantic title to get around regulation.
She clearly lying she is still brainwashed
For every mission specialist, it should be specified if they paid for the title.
I believe him over her. She is clearly still enamored of oceangate and seems like she was so excited about diving that safety wasnt first priority for her. Its sad that something like this happens and she still cant see the faults and failures of stockton rush. They must have been a great pair both with the same mindset.
Agree.
Lochridge is probably telling the truth.... I mean Stockton had got them stuch at the bottom of the sea...
I don't believe the woman
Poor risk judgement from a banker. Enough said.
Mission Specialist. Yea right.
But she cried before her hearing began 😢
That was planned tears.
Many who buy into the pitch of a charismatic stronger willed person will never believe they fell for a bad idea .
To be fair, the first dozen dives went fine.
"he must have gone on a different dive"... This is SO close to the claim of Joan Crawford's housekeeper when the book "Mommie Dearest" was released. I'm positive that the housekeeper chose to be deliberately blind, and I'm positive that this woman also chose to be deliberately blind.
So basically the dude hired his bangmaid to be an operations specialist and here we are listening to her yap.
What's the deal here? Why would there be such contradicting accounts?
There was rebar and fishing line everywhere-somebody was crying….and I bet anything it was Renata Rojas!!
I found Lochridge's testimony very credible. Obviously it may have been coloured by his personal history and tensions with Rush, but given everything that happened and all the things Rush himself said in the past that display his stunningly slapdash approach to safety, everything Lochridge said rang true. Funny to hear Rojas say that "nobody was crying" on the Andrea Doria dive, then she later got tearful in her own testimony when she talks about the final Titan dive (this is in another video, not here) ... She was clearly personally fond of Rush, and my gut feeling is that she's glossing things over to try to protect what's left of his reputation.
The fact she surprinslgy is in the very rare ones that takes Ocengate's side while practically EVERY ONE says they were full of shit makes her absolutely untrustable. That woman is a lying walking waste of oxygen, disgusting such people exists. Take Lochridge's testimony : a file, evidences, traces, records, pictures : the guy came with an absolute beast of a defense of his case. And she's just here blatantly lying by omitting details - that person should not even be heard - and she's making a fool of herself when having so many people telling that company was effing horrible.
Heavy duty construction glue, you know that I mean. And a much deeper flange channel. Use more glue than you need and jiggle/wiggle out all the bubbles.
The more I hear about the culture within OG from these hearings, and the more I hear from these so-called "mission specialists" (paid passengers), the more I'm beginning to draw comparisons between the whole Titan endeavour and cults.
Stockton Rush seems to have had people under his spell, like a cult leader. Even to this day, regardless of the knowledge that we have about how careless and haphazardly the Titan was designed, built, and tested, and how dangerous the Titan was to those who went down in it, "mission specialists" like Rojas still seem to be under the impression that OG was focused on safety, and taking part in a dive on Titan wasn't all that different to everyday risks that the average person takes, like driving a car or "riding on a trolley" (to paraphrase another one of the "mission specialists" that testified in these hearings). Rush and OG did not have their best interests in mind, only the money that these folks were willing to pay them. Absolutely insane.
These lady is full of crap. Totally trying to protect Stockton Rush. Here story doesn’t make any sense…
Oh, she's special alright lmao.
0:33 "Lochridge OR David?". I'm not an expert in psychology but you know her testimony is not creditable when you realize how much pressure she's under in telling all the lies she's been coached to give.
"mission specialist" = doing nothing really; just paying a hefty sum to go in a submersible.
It's clear that this "mission specialist" is also in the habit of telling lies and leaving out important bits and pieces.
Lochridge clearly comes across as honest and, unlike this "specialist", being an actual SPECIALIST.
Paid shill
She has legal exposure and guilt. Both are justified.
She's lying.
OOOH SPICY! I mean... who gives a shit?
Fan girl
Women ☕️
So who’s telling the truth.
I’m no fan of her but it’s very possible here that Lockridge is embellishing and even making things up .
He had documentation to back up most of what he said though which she doesn't
it's also possible that she simply may not have understood, and still does not understand, the gravity of the series of mistakes that Rush made while on the dive. Maybe she wasn't panicking at all. Why panic if you don't understand how much fucking danger you're in?
@@jdjk7exactly, she even scoffed when asked about going down in an unclassified sub "pfff it's only 70m no worries" clear who's account is correct
@@bigguns8044 oh i don't think he was scared of dying i think he was frightened to death of being shown up!
The thing is, he testified a couple days before she did, fuilly knowing she would testify as well - I can't see why he would invent a completely different story knowing the other party would be there as well. More likely, he told the truth, expecting her to do so as well, and she followed up with something surprising.
Lochridge loves the spotlight. He lives for it. This woman just speaks truth.
Liar
I believe David lockridge, this woman is lying. David is an expert on diving. This woman trying to change the truth.
