A lot of sisters back then were beautiful from the inside out. Not just good looking. They had style and class. She almost walked away from her role on the show, but M.L.King talked her into staying.
I saw an interview with her where she talked about that. Saying that she mentioned to MLK about quitting and he *HIGHLY* encouraged her not to. Saying she was a trailblazer for black people. P.S If you type both their names into TH-cam you'll find the interview where she talks about it
Why do people keep using sisters and brothers? It's just cringe just like king and queen is. Could have just said that back then women had a different look about them. 🙄
She was such a positive influence that NASA actually hired her as part of the recruitment processing, and my college roommate's father named her Nichelle after Miss Michelle Nichols because he loved her so much❤
That was SUCH a great episode. I totally ship Uhura and Sulu. They made a great couple here. One of those love/hate things. Super scene, she is SUCH a bad ass.
It's that glance she gives Sulu just before sliding the stiletto home, so compelling. We associate the whole scene with that expression. And the costume, of course. So we use schoolboy superlatives when describing absolutely anything in the video.
By all accounts she and "James" had a thing going on set. They were well known for having congress in one of the stars mobiles with Jim going like a woodpecker from behind....

um...1. Sulu is not even in the clip except the back of his head at the end maybe...2, she walked three steps backwards....her beauty and grace was very paralleled....
@Astrochronic:
It's funny how you thought that stupid reply was deep!
@@mr.dennis5503 deep? No. I only stated obvious surface level facts.
"Surface level facts..."
1. Uhura was flirting with Sulu, immediately before the scene depicted in the video, to distract him from looking at the console in front of him. The weapon was to back him off!
2. Nichelle Nichols was a beautiful woman, with the grace of a ballerina when she walked.
3. Stop liking your own posts!
@@mr.dennis5503 simp harder for a D list actress. Her stomach looks flabby and she is sucking it in. She is pretty sure...not going to lie... but pretty average as TV celebrities go. The video caption makes it sound like she achieved some kind of feat and she literally walked backwards 3 steps and is sucking her stomach in the whole time... I admit, I misunderstood your first comment, I thought you were saying to keep an eye on Sulu not that she was backing up to keep an eye on him, but regardless...who cares?
The late Nichelle Nichols (Comms Officer Uhuru) was a stunning woman. " Beam me up Scotty."
She was beautiful and very talented. I wished she had more scenes. She's absolutely fabulous, lovely voice.
Please don't forget the history making kiss her character and James Kirk did. That alone should have made her a legend in breaking barriers.
Holy bajeezus, what a woman. Unbelievably beautiful, wonderfully talented, and from what I've heard she's an absolute gem of a person
She put that knife away better than the Secret Service Chick!
She must have had so much fun in this episode!
I can only imagine!
She actually had something to do.
@@2bituser569 Exactly!
@@2bituser569In most of her scenes, she DID have something to do, and usually very important. She just didn’t have as many as the first-tier characters. Hardly any of the time on her was fluff.
She was and ALWAYS WILL BE the baddie of Star Trek!❤❤❤
I’m in shock that you actually said WOW to the fact that she took two steps backwards instead of acknowledging how jaw dropping her body is. You could’ve of been the main character in Dumb and Dumber!
That was to trick the TH-cam algorithm where honesty is 1 step forward 2 steps backwards.
Lt. Uhura was a goddess! Nichele Nichols was feline and feral in Mirror Mirror, the best Star Trek TOS episode. You can tell the cast had fun flexing acting chops playing opposites of their characters. Nichelle's presence on that show was monumental in 1960s. May she rest in eternal peace.
All the men looking in the background is pure comedy. They forgot what they were supposed to do. They even smiling. My man is on the wall with one hand in his pocket.
A natural beauty. Wow just wow, I could exercise forever and still be in search of abs like that.😊
Uhura communicating with power and beauty. Incredibly we all still experience the energy of her being.
She was a dancer. They can do anything
True.
The way she looked up before putting that knife away.
Holy crap.... They TOTALLY under used her...
Sexy voice, proffesional dancer, bangin' bod, terrific acting skills... 💜💕💜
Whomever, let this slide, needs to punch themselves in the face, to rectify this injustice... and to pacify millions of Star Trek fans, who can only ask... What if?
😊💖😊
She stepped backwards like two steps
oh thank god..I fully expected a voice over going "UHURA WANTED TO WALK BACKWARDS TO ADD PUNCH AND FLARE TO HER SCENE, SO SHE STARTED TAKING STEPS SLOWLY BACKWARDS. UNTIL SHE GOT TO THE STAIRS, AND YOU WON'T BELIEVE WHAT HAPPENED NEXT. SHE STEPPED SIDEWAYS MASTERFULLY AND THEN SLOWLY PUT THE BRANDISHED WEAPON AWAY BEFORE TURNING AND WALKING OUT OF THE ROOM"
Uhura brought a soothing presence to the show. As a little girl, I loved watching because of her. ❤😊
OG baddie... One of the pioneers
She would look good walking backward, forward or sideways. The woman was just WOW!
Walking on her hands with that outfit on would be the best.
With the thigh-high boots! C'mon now!😮WOW!
Somebodies grandma was fine af back in the day 😂😂🔥🔥look at her stomach tho 💪🏾
Am I the only one completely confused? Girl took TWO steps backwards. I'd be concerned if a person wasn't able to do that
A lot of sisters back then were beautiful from the inside out. Not just good looking. They had style and class. She almost walked away from her role on the show, but M.L.King talked her into staying.
Really?...
Hooow¿ And just HOOOW DO U KNO, 'THAT' ???
psst? hey how'd U Kno That, for real?
LoooolL
@@joeraymond4316 ( In my whiniest of troll voices ) "How And just HOOOW DO U KNO THAT" Lol, how does anyone know anything, Short Bus.
@@anneeti5354 pretty sure it's a black thing
Those abs are fire!! 🔥
She's amazing. Hitting the gym in 1969❤
Nobody was huge back then. They took care of themselves.
@derricksmalls2293 so all them mamies were slim back then? 😅😅😅😅😅😅
Wudn’t no gyms back in be 60s. 😂
Actually 1967 not being disrespectful just thought you should know
@@TheBerkeleyBeautyymca
Stunning and cold calm collected
The logo of Earth with a dagger through it goes hard though
She was such a positive influence that NASA actually hired her as part of the recruitment processing, and my college roommate's father named her Nichelle after Miss Michelle Nichols because he loved her so much❤
You mean Miss Nichelle Nichols, I assume.
I don’t know anything about startrek but her body is everything 👌🏾💪🏽👍🏽
That was SUCH a great episode. I totally ship Uhura and Sulu. They made a great couple here. One of those love/hate things. Super scene, she is SUCH a bad ass.
Nichelle Nichols and Pam Grier omg two of the finest melanin women, much love and respect to them both
She knew to feel with her feet, and when there was an obstruction, she could identify it and adjust without breaking character.
Excellent stagecraft.
Too bad she isn't here to teach that technique to Uncle Joe!😂
@@sunshineandwarmth 🤣 🤣
That was sideways not backwards and it was like 6feet
Class and grace walks smoothly in every direction. Not force, FLOW
Classic episode from a great series ✊🏽👸🏾🖖🏽
She spent like 20 years in that little room. She could walk with her eyes closed.
