The Fresh Prince of Bel-Air now streaming on HBO Max.
About:
Will's mom sends him away from his rough Philadelphia neighborhood to live with wealthy Uncle Phil and Aunt Vivian in Bel-Air. Will often has fun at the expense of stuck-up cousins Carlton and Hilary. - บันเทิง
The worst decision in TV history was replacing Aunt Viv. Period!
I agree!
Right I can't even imagine Aunt Viv#2 doing this.
@@talltalllady amen to that
It was how they WENT ABOUT IT for me, too. 😶
Except she had a toxic behavior on stage, mental health issues might be involved
For those of us who knew she was a well known/professional dancer, I was glad the show allowed us to see her in action. ❤
Just to show how out of touch I am I didn't even know that!!! I just thought when I first seen this episode that this was her first time ever dancing. With that long lasting feud with her and Smith I never checked her backstory. Thanks for this new found info on me!

@@fgjsdfgjkl Good lord...my cell phone acted as if it wouldn't allow me to comment so you can imagine how many times my frustrated self hit the reply icon. Truly sorry for that.
The only bad thing about this video is that it ends. Hats off to Janet Hubert! 👏👏👏
The real Aunt Viv! I love this entire show but never could forget this actress.
Quite frankly I said who the hell is that? That sure ‘ain’t’ Auntie Viv!!! 🤦♀️I watched as an ex dancer myself-FN FLAWLESS 🔥🌟🔥I remember seeing it back when it was good!🙏🏻❤️🤔
Aunt Viv is the ONLY ONE who doesn't use her hands to hold up her body at the end ❤
Didn't notice that.
Dang. Went and rewatched the instructor, he even used his hands to hold his body up! I bet Janet choreographed the whole routine! I do wonder if she wrote any of it too. Will Smith ain’t shit.
Yep you're right. I had to go back and watch it again. Her arm are flat down on the floor while everyone else is holding themselves up
1:40
Omg! Thank you for pointing that out! 🎉🔥
And danced in heel😎
Hands Down, One of the best moments of the entire series!
😊😊😊😊👍👍👍👍👍
I'm still trying to do this dance😀😀😀✌💜🙏
I agree. She should of been offered a show of her own since she wasn't wanted there anymore. I loved her as Aunt Vivian. They messed up when they didn't treat her right. I can see why she was a singer and dancer in the theatre play CATS and later on became a headliner.
AGREED!
No matter how many times I see it, I will enjoy it.
The finger snap to finalize her perfect 10 performance was BY FAR what sealed this as FPoBA's most iconic moment ever!!! 🔥🔥🔥🔥🔥
This was one of the most underrated TV scenes in the 90s!
Never
It’s not underrated. You just found out about it.
Where the fuck have you been??? This show was CONSISTENTLY ranked at the top of the ratings its entire run.
Can we talk about how sick her body is??? Not an ounce of fat. Her skin tone with the blush pink. The hair. The face Just gorgeous.
Ikr?! Her body is on fireeee! She's absolutely gorgeous. I had a crush on aunt Viv when I was a kid. Now I remember why, lol.
❤❤❤ I was looking for this comment.. She's such a gorgeous woman..then and now!!
Yes! I was mesmerized by her body, beauty, and movements! She's so regal!
Absolutely gorgeous 😍
Absolutely! Her body is on point! 🔥🔥
I loved her in this series. Nothing so beautiful as a strong vibrant woman who knows how to command attention. She killed it in this scene and you can tell by her movements that she has ballet training
And a nice body too.
Janet Hubert was a Julliard-trained dancer and singer who began her performing career on Broadway, originating in the role of Tantomile in Cats in 1982. Aunt Viv owned this!
That's what I thought. You immediately see the elegance and grace you either learn at ballet or figure skating.
@@SpookyElectric319 That's awesome!
@@SpookyElectric319 I didn't know that, but it's easy to see that it's true.
What impressed me the most was the candle pose at the end cus she did it without holding her back and was the straightest
Yes it was. She fit perfectly in that family. She was classy, strict, soft, calm, assertive and wow.
Everything that an aunt should be
Aunt Viv killed it. She was better than ALL of her younger competitors!!
Btw, the dance instructor did that whole routine without getting out of breath!! Kudos to him!!
she better than thst great value knockoff Aunt Viv tied only with Claire Huxtable
I bet he did a ton of ‘that’s it’ workouts :).
I was thinking the same thing, "He's not even breathing hard!" 😄
Her falling out of breath seemed scripted.
It was part of the script, correct.@@ladybimshire6808
That snap was everything!! 😆
I still think about that & WANT TO DO IT to folks to this day 😂
Filthy and stank! I love it! 😂😂😂😂👏🏾👏🏾👏🏾👏🏾👏🏾
Best part! 🤣
Yes. 😂😂😂💅
Loved ❤
The way her face lights up as she dances... she's amazing.
When she 'snapped' I couldn't help but have a big grin on my face 😁
What made it even more cold was she had a smile on her face when she did it! Classic!
Part of what makes this for me is hearing the audience get more and more excited with every move she perfectly executes. They're like, "Ooooh. Wooow! Whaaaat???? Yeeeeaaaaaaaahhhhhh!!!" And she fed off all that energy.
Yeeesssss, and they were surprised she could move like that. She has a dancer's body though.
I will never forget this scene. Always was such a thrill to see her knock it out! Her character had so much to offer this show before recasting. Let’s not forget that smile!! She is having so much fun!! Love this.
We were all Will when he looked in the camera after Viv got replaced. Who you again?
Will is the reason she was replaced
@@lisawilliams3374what did they fall out about do you know?
@@lisawilliams3374 White viewers thinking Janet Hubert was "too black" was the reason she got replaced.
I knew she was a excellent actress, but I had no idea she was also a talented and trained dancer. One of the best episodes of the show.
Yeah at the end, she was the only not using her hands to hold her body up
Tbh, she is gorgeous and that routine was definitely clean and graceful. Still not sick of it after all these years!
Aunt Viv killed it 😍🔥
And wil killed her OFF
No more Viv killing it
She became.....
Just an extra
Passing through like a pedestrian passing the News anchor in the high street waving to the camera
Yeah will killed someone who shone brighter than him
Envy ( jealousy ) pride ( ego ) and greed
Couldn't stand anyone else getting the limelight the big lemon
Yes she did 😊
She Straight-Up Owned They A*****
🎯
You can see the confidence on her face right before she starts dancing.
Bring out Lucille energy
@@falconeshieldand 10 percent for his manager
Right? Her face literally says "watch me eat this and leave no crumbs" 😂. And she totally did 😅
Bro I immediately seen that and when I see stuff like that it gives me chills bro!!!! There is a young latina salsa dancer named sophia I believe, she shows the same vibes betore she starts and its soo captivating.
Hands down the loudest finger snap in tv history. Thanos heard that one.
I remember watching this episode when it first aired. The next day when I went back to high school everybody couldn't stop talking about this dance routine! Aunt Viv worked it!!!!
She was and still is my FAVORITE aunt Viv!!!!

Yes! I don't know a single person that prefers the other one.
Same here, and I was born (unapologetically) light-skinned!! 😅😊
More fun 😊😊

Notice how she's the only one who didn't put her hand on her back to support herself in that last move! 😮
🔥🔥
She turned it out. Beautiful poetry in motion. One of my favorite episodes!! Many may not know this but Aunt Viv was a professional dancer, so this role was easy for her. She Nailed it!!
The whole scene is great - but the ending when she walks out of the room with her head held high - and then just collapses on the floor makes it perfect 🤣
Light-skinned Aunt Viv could never! The original Aunt Viv was so iconic!
The light-skinned Aunt Viv probably can’t dance,lol!!
It’s not about skin color. That had NOTHING to do with ANYTHING.
I don't know whether Daphne Maxwell-Reid had any previous dance training or not. But Janet Huber danced on Broadway in Cats, which gave her a decided advantage.
@@TheSimmpleTruth The use here of the expression "light-skinned Aunt Viv" was to differentiate between the two actors, it was not meant to suggest that there was a "colorism" issue.
@@CP-pe9ul
Yeah, right. 🙄
A simple “the actress that replaced her” or the “other Aunt Viv” would’ve gotten the point across.
No need to bring up that one African American actress had “lighter skin,”therefore, could not have danced so well. Talk about judging someone’s abilities by the color of their skin. 😖
Her entire performance is fire!! 🔥 and the snap at the end sealed the deal for me ❤
One of my fav episodes. I always loved how educated and cultured Aunt Viv was.
One of the most ICONIC scenes in 90s TV shows. 🔥🔥🔥❤❤❤
I really loved this scene. She looked she was enjoying the scene and couldn’t hide the smile. She should’ve never been replaced.
It's her own fault. She was offered a contract after her original had expired. She chose not to sign it.
That smile was everything… when you smile like that, that means you doing what you enjoy and suppose to do !!! ❤ True meaning of happiness!!!
@@mimcduffee86because her and will smith did not get along and he admitted to being rather rude to her.
Not only did they replace her, They replaced her with the most vanilla actress they could find...
Her character become vanilla too
@ComedyTV vanilla in color AND personality lol
That was the power of wil smith.... Couldn't pay his tax bill but got people fired 🙄😡🙄
Shade doesn't matter
@@carazy-wb5ykit wasn’t really wills fault she got fired
I had an audition just like this once. I am not a dancer but thought I was auditioning for the chorus. The director/choreographer ran through a complicated routine and yelled, "first four" and pointed to ME way in a corner. Everyone was in leg warmers etc but me. And it was TAP DANCING! I got up there and tried to remember every Nicholas Brothers movie I had ever seen and it worked! Don't ask me how but the director was thrilled and told everyone to "do it like him"! I ended up getting a huge part - dancing - but I was terrified every time the curtain went up. In fact , it was only after the audition that I went and bought tap shoes.
That's so cool!
That's fantastic!
Is this really how they do it? Show you the whole routine once and then ask you to do it? they don't break it down?
The ferocious ferocity is too fierce to ignore! Aunt Viv was captivating, gorgeous, body rich, melanin rich and should never have been replaced!
Not only did they replace her, but the second Aunt Viv stopped being a professor and was just a housewife.
Wow!!!!
No school..your right
I did not realize that thank you for pointing that out and I seen this show I don’t know how many times with the new aunt Viv lol
@@lizmccarthy-edwards2115I agree with you. Whose decision was that? Lol. I like Daphne, but not for that role.
@@lizmccarthy-edwards2115 no it was because the original Aunt Viv was pregnant and they couldn't hide it anymore so she went to have her baby, and some executive decided to just move on instead of waiting for her to come back and invented a new role for the new Aunt Viv, which was (of all things) having a baby and being a stay at home mom instead. Big mistake
I mean, this woman is BEYOND stunning. My goodness
The power she has
Oh wow! She was a true dancer. Her form and grace is amazing
Aunt Viv did that! And inspired a dance move for all time👏🏽👏🏽👏🏽👏🏽❤ Probably my favorite episode from the show.
My favorite Aunt Viv moment!!😁
It’s my second fave! The one where Carlton and Will get arrested for the “stolen” car? And she was about to fight the cops? I LOVED that. Uncle Phil saved some lives that night!!

WOW, IT'S SO OBVIOUS THAT AUNT VIV IS TECHNICALLY TRAINED IN ( BALLET, JAZZ, MODERN AND CONTEMPORARY/LYRICAL DANCE ). HER LINES, EXTENSIONS ETC. ARE ALL THERE. FOR ME, AS A ( FORMER PROFESSIONAL DANCER FOR OVER 40 YEARS ), I ENJOYED SEEING HER DANCE WITH STYLE, GREAT TECHNIQUE & CLASS.

One of my favorite moments on the show. The one and ONLY Aunt Viv ❤
Omg, Aunt Viv was simple, fantastic! She killed it...boys!!!! With her knocked out body too!!!...😊
That snap in the girls faces was the perfect cherry on top.
She was the gold standard. New Aunt Viv had ZERO substance.
Loved the finger snap st the end - perfect for a perfect performance.🎉
Was looking for this comment ❤
Absolutely 😊
She's irreplaceable! That new Aunt Viv didn't have the sass that this one has. It was the same thing when they replaced Harriet on Family Matters
There was no family matters after that!
The snap Aunt Viv did in her face always made me laugh 😂🤣🥰🥰
She was the best aunt Viv! I loved her sass. She absolutely killed this fance. Lol
One of my fav scenes ❤ aunt Viv did her thing 🙌🏽
You could see the determination in her face before the dance even started! You knew the smoke was coming! 😂😂😂
triple snaps to Aunt Viv 🤟
This is one of my favorite scenes! But 1:52 is hands down one of my favorite moments ever! Janet Hubert was, is, and will always be the original Aunt Viv.
Those camera angles just hit in all the right places. One of my favorite episodes. And I hate that they changed her too. That part was made for her.
This show will always have a special place in my heart. It started around the time my dad left for the Gulf War and I remember it being one of the few things that could make my mom laugh during that time, she was so worried about my dad. I was only 3, but I fell in love with the characters too and Aunt Viv was my favorite. Thank you Janet Huber for giving us such an awesome character to love!
Sei figlia unica?
I had SUCH a crush on her.
She's a great dancer
Without a doubt, one of TV's most epic moments....It will forever live rent free in our memories🙌🏾❤️🔥❤️🔥❤️🔥
Babay not one cent of rent!!!
She did that!! If I don't remember anything else, I remember how funny Hilary was and I remember THIS epic Queen Scene right here!
It's incredible how this is one of my stand-out memories from the 90s, crazy to think that's how much of an impact this one scene made on me when I was younger! Janet Hubert was unfairly robbed of her opportunity to be a huge TV star in the 90s but regardless, the work she did do before she was replaced on Fresh Prince makes her forever absolutely ICONIC ✌🏻
Dope- it was the head move and the snap at the end. Love Aunt Viv
But Aunt Viv had a rocking body there.
To this day, this is one of my favorite sit-com scenes. It's iconic. If there's a clip if it, I watch it. Aunt Viv was fabulous.
I never get tired of watching this, lol! I've viewed it so many times! Each time I view it I can't help but smile! She did that!
She hit every. step. perfectly! Love, love, love! ❤
Listen to the audience's reaction, they had NO IDEA 😅
Also, look at how Janice doesn't need to support her lower back in the final pose. Her core strength must be phenomenal 😮
The others didn't "need" to either. People act like this shit isn't a scripted sitcom.
Scripted doesn't take away from actual talent and strength though (unless there is a stunt double). @@melissasmith6762
She's the only one who didn't support herself. Take your madness elsewherev😅😅
The snap heard around the world!!
The look she gave them at 00:57 lmk EXACTLY what was getting ready to go down! 😭🤣 she was the only 1 who didn’t use her hands to support her frame on the last move. And that snap at the end was EVERYTHING!!! 😂😅
I loved that she still got it hand's down so iconic and fresh.
I remember this she was excellent and I loved her on here. The best aunt
Vivian was the best dancer by far (even better than the choriographer). Especially the ending when she put her arms out instead of using them to hold herself up in that closing stance.
I always loved I could read the girls lips in the back going “oh crap” 😂
Straight kilt it! Can we acknowledge how many actresses were actually professional dancers as well back in the day !!! 💥💥💥💣💣💣
I have the biggest smile on my face right now!! Took me back to my childhood in that very moment!! So refreshing and now that Im 40 I can definitely relate… Hands down one of TVs best moments.. Now that’s black history!! We love u Aunt Viv💐❤️💐❤️
That dance was everything! She hit all the moves while serving a nice toned lean healthy body all at the same time!
I never get Enough of this CLIP,,She was GREAT !!!!
DAT'S RIGHT!! The one and only Aunt Viv. 😂❤❤❤❤
They shouldn't have replaced her, she was really good, and what pretty dance she does to, 🎉
Wow! What an electrifying performance. Still number one in my book.
She was wonderful...fantastic...She Auditioned for herself...She knew she could have made it as a Dancer..
I still can't believe they replaced her
Yeah…unfortunately they had to because she had drama with everyone on set, especially her infamous feud with Will Smith. And it became difficult to work with her. Couldn’t stand Daphne Maxwell-Reid…stiff as a board and couldn’t act her way out of a paper bag.
This will always the best Aunt Viv
@comedytv23447 She did not, she was fired and she's been bitter for *30 years about it.
She don't know how to act
@@dopedrums30 years
I loved her, that snap just scratched the surface of her charisma. I actually felt a loss when she was replaced.
This will always be one of the greatest moments in TV history and to think it almost never happened because the show runner at the time didn’t wanna show Vivian as anything but a stern mother and not one with passions and range.
Aunt Viv energy 🔥
Aunt viv the only one who didn’t hold herself up at the end
