Another great episode Sophie! I hear you loud and clear about being overwhelmed - 2023 was one of those years! Here's to (hopefully) a quiet 2024. Happy New Year! Love your sweaters - so gorgeous!! Can't wait to see the finished Zweig sweater! And thank you so much for the shout out. I really appreciate it!!
Sophie I know it’s the end of January already but I still want to wish you a Happy New Year with all the love and yarn! I just adore you and really look forward to a time when we get to meet in person. Maybe in 2024?!! Okay you did really well for only having 10 mins in Fleece & Harmony 😮 that colour of Selkirk is youuuuuu. Your excitement about the yarnie goodness in life is infectious 🎉. See you next time!
The Christmas colored yarn is in a ball and the caramel/brownish is a skein. Yes, things can get quite confusing. Not to be concerned about titles, it’s all lovely yarn for making fun projects. God job 👍🏻
Sophie, you are the sweetest ! As always I enjoyed the time spent with you !! You are so kind and generous with your beautiful knits, what lovely gifts you gave for Christmas !! So fun to see what you aspire to make next …Thankyou for the inspiration and the joy for knitting you share with your followers , you make our craft so much fun! 💕🧶
Oh my goodness! Thank you so so much for your kind words Chrystal! 🥰 I so appreciate you taking time to leave comment. I’m so happy you enjoyed and chose to spend time with me! I wish you a wonderful, joyful, knitty 2024 my friend! ♥️♥️♥️
Oh my gosh Sophie!!!! You just made me even more excited for my MAL than I already am 😂❤ I have that book as well so I’ll read it along with you!! And I love your yarn Library themed yarn and the Hermione’s Everyday sock pattern is a perfect choice!! Thanks for joining 🥰🥰 Also - your field sweater is incredible!! It always a pleasure to see what you’re working on - thank you for sharing! ❤
You should have seen me when I opened that book gift! everyone else in the family didn't understand anything of what I was saying about it being perfect for your MAL😂😂. Their confused look was hilarious LOL. I just need to wind up the yarn and just start already. so thank you so much for hosting it!!! 🥰💕
Thanks for the lovely company dear Sophie 🤗 Your Field sweater looks absolutely beautiful on you 😍 And I am not typically a purple person but oh my gosh that "smooshed blueberry" coloured yarn from Fleece & Harmony is gorgeous!! I feel you on the work deadline front as I also had a super-stressful lead-up to Christmas due to a hard and fast work deadline 🤪 Glad you were able to take some time off and recover. Wishing you all the best in 2024 🎉❤
Aw thank you so much for tuning in Nikki! I hope your holidays were nice and relax! Wishing you and your family a great 2024 and looking forward to catch your next episode to see what you're knitting my friend! 🥰💖
Great episode Sophie❤ I need to check out some knitting audio books. I can't go to sleep now without listening to "Get Sleepy"..knitting in a mountain cabin. Just a woman sitting in her cabin drinking chai tea in front of her fireplace in a winter storm knitting a top down sweater...puts me to sleep every time. Had to listen to it during the day to hear the whole story🤣. 🥰Sharon.
Thank you so for watching Sharon! so happy you enjoyed! I have to try audio books again. i tried listening to a few and just couldn't get into the story. it would have put me to sleep too haha. If you find a good one let me know. Have a wonderful knitty weekend!!🥰🧶
Aw so glad you enjoyed! The blueberry yarn is sooo great to work with.. I'm a bit obsessed 😂. Thank you so much for tuning in again and have a wonderful knitty weekend!! 🧶🥰
I have seen quite a few Field sweaters but they were 2 color and I find I like the solid color much better. The color is beautiful on you. I have adapted a couple of texture patterns to fingerless mitts this holiday season. They are such a great gift and I am sure the hockey coach loved them.
Thank you so much! I agree with you, fingerless mitts make a perfect gift! I'm going to try to make more throughout the year for more gifts... and possibly a pair for myself! 😂 Thank you so much for watching and happy 2024!🥰
Thanks for tuning in Amanda! It was soooo hard to give up that Ruana lol but I'm excited to knit up mine this year. I found at least 1 way to keep some mini lights up (valentine tree). I'll see how long I can keep it up! 🥰Have a wonderful weekend!! 💕
Hi Sophie. I was so excited when I saw that you had a new podcast. I’m currently working on a new cardigan pattern while spending time with you today. Your sweater is stunning! And I’m loving both of your WIPs. A few years ago I made a Ruana and really need to make another. I adored wearing it but gave it away, lol. I’m so glad the stress of your work project is behind you and wish you an amazing new year my friend. 🤗 ❤
Happy New Year! I am watching you talk about your Zweig while wearing mine! It looks super and I agree: it is an addictive knit. I need another but I only have single skeins right now...boo. I love the mini lights, too and we keep some up through the year (our house has poor lighting as my excuse also). Gorgeous yarn and sweaters!
Hi Sophie and Happy New Year! I was so excited to see you had a new podcast up! Nice way to spend some time on a very nasty weather day. You inspire me so much!! I love your Field Sweater, it is gorgeous on you! The colour is perfect on you! I am also inspired to knit the Hermoine's Everday Sock. I've had it in my favorites for awhile now so it might be my next sock cast on. I also aman avid reader so when you showed your new book, I immediately added both of the author's books to my wishlist on my Kobo. Love your Zweig too, bought the yarn to make it January 4th 2021....maybe this year it will make it onto my needles. 😊
Hi Dianne! Happy New Year! I'm so glad you enjoyed the episode! I've had the Hermione's socks in my library forever too! and Just started reading the book last night it already has yarn references! lol Thank you so so much for tuning in again and you'll have to keep me posted if ever you cast on your Zweig!! Have a wonderful week and happy knitting Dianne! 🥰🧶
Your Zweig is going to be gorgeous! I love your yarn color choices! I’ve had the pattern for years but somehow it always gets put on the back burner to other new and exciting patterns. Yours is inspiring me to maybe finally get it on the needles in 2024!
Oh yay! You will have to keep me posted if you cast on the Zweig! I think it's a sweater that will get lots of wear! a great addition to any wardrobe! Thank you so so much for watching! 🥰
Another great episode! I can't wait to see how your Zweig turns out but I have to say that I am already in love with it. Your field sweater turned out so nicely. I am jealous of your Fleece and Harmony yarn. This is a yarn I would like to try someday. Can't wait to hear more about it when you continue to work on your sweater. Best wishes!
Hi Sophie…you seem to share my passion for knitting sweaters! I also like mitts, socks and shawls but sweaters are my absolute favorite. Great podcast, I always like seeing what’s on and off of your needles. Have a wonderful 2024 filled with yarn and happiness!
Sweaters are my very favorite too!! I'm exactly like you. Love having socks, shawls and mitts on the go to but, sweaters is where my heart is! thank you so much for taking time to spend with me Darlene! Can't wait for Next knit night to knit to catch up! Cheers to a knitty 2024 my friend!!🥰💕
I'm soo behind on podcast😔 All your prodject Sophie are stunning. I really love your field sweater😍😍, I need to start mine soon, omg I have so much I want to knit but so little time 😂😂
Happy New Year! haha I live with that wanting to knit everything feeling all the time. 😂 So glad you enjoyed! Thank you for watching and have a wonderful knitty week! 🥰🧶
I am also team cuff down; I have two pairs of toe up socks (one pair was a mystery KAL pattern and is my favorite; the other pair was just plain stockinette and took forever) and every time I think I want to make another pair toe up, everything goes great till I get around mid-foot and just give up because it just feels like it’s taking forever. For me, somehow cuff down socks can take a month or even two to make but I still feel like I’m making progress on the socks because I cast on both socks and then alternate between the two socks.
🙌 Yes Team Cuff down! 😂 I've only ever make 1 toe up sock and it didn't fit lol. But, I really do want to try again at some point and I have the Wintery Woods pattern by Nancy Wheeler, and I need to try those out! I also want to make my socks 2 at a time like you! I've bought extra needles just for that reason. So here's to a knitty 2024 and thank you so so much for watching! 🥰🧶
I love your podcast!. You are very inspiring. That Fleece and Harmony yarn is gorgeous! I have 3 sweaters quantities to knit up from Fleece and Harmony. Your field sweater is so pretty and a wonderful color for you! What kind of work do you do? I am a retired RN but now I take care of my grandkids while their parents are working. Thankyou for another inspiring episode.
Oh I'm so happy you enjoyed! and Yay for the Fleece and Harmony yarn! Their yarn is just so so pretty! I test game software/programs. I do like my job, just don't love big deadlines 😂. I keep asking my husband to make more money so that I can stay home... it hasn't happened yet! LOL Thank you so so much for watching and leaving a comment! truly appreciate it! 🥰🥰💕
Sophie, lovely podcast again! Now I understand why you're such a beautiful, talented knitter!! Your job! Your mind works in software! So glad you got through that deadline! Can't believe you knit all you knit through a job like that! I'm sure it's your saving grace, knitting! Your fit is always spot on! That Field sweater is so sweet! Thanks for sharing❤ Rosemary 😊
Hi Rosemary! Thank you so much for tuning in again! I can say that my knitting totally helped me get through those stressful days! Also xmas and spending time with the family and all the treats helped as well 😂. Hope it's not too cold in your corner! Have a wonderful week and as always happy knitting my friend! 🥰🧶
The red Variegated yarn I would call a 'ball'. The brown yarn I would call either a hank or a Skein. Either one works. I ❤ the colour of yarn in the sweater you are wearing. It looks like Spruce on the screen. You are forgiven for making a purchase at Fleece & Harmony. Who could resist?? Excellent work! Merci Bien from Calgary.
You are totally right! The color of my sweater does remind me of Spruce too! Ah Fleece and Harmony will get me every time lol. But I love PEI so much it's like bring back a little treasure from each visit! It's probably a good thing we only visit a few times a year 😂. Merci Beaucoup much for watching!! 🥰
Happy New Year. The holidays are such a busy time, I can totally relate to PJ days! The winter tree of yarn is such an awesome idea, will definitely brighten our dark Canadian winter. All your yarn this episode was stunning, we have very similar taste in colours. The Zweig combo is perfect and that skein of Library is stunning, I will be checking out Yarn Indulgences to see if she has more. Just to clarify, a skein and hank are interchangeable. The sock yarn you have is just a ball. Once wound a skein or hank becomes a cake. Hopefully that helps with the translation😆
I'm so glad that hank and skein are interchangeable! lol it's what I thought, but I've been wrong before lol. The dyer for Yarn Indulgences (she is super nice) sometimes doesn't repeat colors.. but I will definitely tell her how perfect this color is and that we need more of it 😂. Thank you so so much for watching and I wish you a happy and knitty 2024! 🥰🧶
Your Field sweater is beautiful and great choice from Fleece and Harmony. I totally get your work stress - I’m a business analyst but have done a lot of testing. Have you ever shared when and how you started knitting? I’m not missing mini lights yet because my tree is still up. 😂
Hi Starr!! omygosh you do totally get the job stress too! I'm usually pretty good at managing my work stress, but when it's big projects that has the attention of important people like this one.. They are just no fun 😂. I think I did share maybe in my first episode how I stumbled into knitting but maybe I should give a quick recap on my next episode. So thanks for the question! I got into knitting dishcloths because my Mother in law would make them all the time and one weekend I asked her to show me and then I made dishcloths for years LOL cause it was the only thing I knew how. 😂 I can not wait to be able to get together in Feb! It will be so fun and will actually have time to really catch up! Thank you so much for tuning in again and Have a wonderful knitty weekend my friend!! 🧶🥰
You are like my husband. he is so depressed because he took down our tree and Christmas decorations today. LOL. I absolutely love the yarn you bought in PEI. I think i might have to order some. That is totally my colour! Will you be going to Knit City inToronto 2024 in May?
Aww I completely understand your husband! I could have done another month of holidays 😂. The yarn was a total treat! I’m smitten with the color! Would love to go to knit city Toronto! I’ve never been to such a big festival, but my neice is getting married that weekend so wont be able to. (i had already checked the date 😂) Thanks as always for tuning in again!! Keep me posted if you ever get some fleece and harmony!! 🥰
Happy New year Karen!! You are right! It’s the second book in the series! Im going to have to buy the first one too 😂! But i think they are separate stories.. so i just can’t wait any longer and will start this one. Just caked up my yarn last night woop! Can’t wait to catch up with you at the next knit night!! ♥️
Happy new year Sophie and thanks for another lovely episode, it was great to catch up :) I can't believe how beautiful your Field sweater is - just gorgeous! Do you think it would be suitable for a beginner cable knitter? I have never knit cables before but that pattern is just calling my name, even more now after seeing your finished object! Love from the UK xx
Thank you so much! I'm so happy to hear you enjoyed the episode! If you are an adventurous knitter, I don't find cabling to hard. But also a good idea is maybe try a smaller project first before the sweater. the designer has released a Field Hat and Fingerless mitts. Maybe making one of these would get you used to those cables and then the sweater will be a breeze! I hope this helps and keep me posted on what you decide! 🥰🧶
Oh that's wonderful! July in NB is always nice! I don't know of all the yarn stores, but I can list a few! Three Bags Full in Moncton, Close Knit Friends in Upper Kent, Legacy Lane Fiber in Sussex, Good Fibrations Saint John. hope that helps and thanks for watching!! 🥰🧶
Oh Sophie your Field Sweater is absolutely GORGEOUS 😍😍😍
Another great episode Sophie! I hear you loud and clear about being overwhelmed - 2023 was one of those years! Here's to (hopefully) a quiet 2024. Happy New Year! Love your sweaters - so gorgeous!! Can't wait to see the finished Zweig sweater! And thank you so much for the shout out. I really appreciate it!!
I always love seeing your makes! You often choose patterns I hope to knit as well. Thanks for taking the time to share in the midst of busy days!

Thanks for watching Margaret! So happy you enjoyed! I have to say the Fleece and Harmony yarn is definitely a treat!! 🥰 happy 2024!!

I love the Field sweater, I got the pattern but still looking for the right yarn.
Thank you!! it took me a bit to figure out which yarn to use too! But totally worth the wait. Thanks for tuning in!! 🥰🧶
Happy new year Sophie ❤. I am definitely going to buy myself that book 📚 UPDATE! This is actually a 2 book series. Book 1 is Real Men Knit!
Inspiring as always! Happy New Year, Sophie!
Thank you so so much for watching and Happy New Year to you as well!! 🥰
YOU are beautiful!❤ i am from Romania!
A big Hello from a snowy Canada! Thank you so so much for watching!! 🥰💕

Bonne Année Sophie. I will be in NB for work and fun in July , other than Cricket Cove do you have other LYS to recommend ?
Oh that's wonderful! July in NB is always nice! I don't know of all the yarn stores, but I can list a few! Three Bags Full in Moncton, Close Knit Friends in Upper Kent, Legacy Lane Fiber in Sussex, Good Fibrations Saint John. hope that helps and thanks for watching!! 🥰🧶
