It's a bad move to do the first 3 service by yourself because the manufacturer can void your warranty if you don't take it to them to do it, they won't charge you for labour cost for those services since it's termed as free service. Also, the free services can be done in a day (if you drop it at the service centre opening time, you'll get it by eve) or just 1 day, but other fixes will take more time no matter how small they're because they priorities service over others (it shouldn't be like that though). Also, get the extended warranty if you can because the headlight units will die after a while. I've replaced mine once under warranty since one of my drl led died and now have to replace it again since my low beam light are turning off when i turn (loose contact or worn wire I guess)
Meh. I will certainly own my mistake if it turns out to be one. As for getting something done in a day, I guess that depends on where you live. Around here, you’re rolling dice.
That’s cool that it’s your first bike. I’ve been riding since 1972 and I’ve owned so many motorcycles of so many types and brands I’ve lost count. I rode every day, 15 to 20 thousand miles a year, and the Svartpilen is the most fun and versatile bike I’ve ever owned. Enjoy!

That bag is from Amazon called “Pevor Motorcycle Tail Bag PU Leather Multifunctional Waterproof Sports Motorcycle Seatback Tool Bag Luggage Carry Bag Storage Tail Bag”. It is quite small but works well with the bike.
You have to do the first Sevice at the dealer. They unlock the 1000km / 600miles „lock“ . And dude, the oilchange is easy on these bikes. But try to change the Sparkplug🙈 Its a awesome bike, I love mine. Nice greet from Austria, in the near of the KTM Headquater👏👍🍀
Funny. I have been there. After I owned my first motorcycle at age 45, I quickly learned you need another motorcycle because it takes so long for them to fix your dream bike. I had a ktm 990 duke, torque for days…… same oil change craziness, if I thought they would do it in a day I would gladly pay them. But I would fear I might never see the bike again. I think you had more bad luck then anything else XD. The dealer took way to long and the oil change kit is the exact same one as the KTM duke 390 and shouldn't have taken so long.

Welcome to small bikes that have a nasty after sales bite . Try to flash the ECU put a well tuned map. The bike will get a lot more smooth, run cooler and drink less fuel. If your front pads are not up to your liking try EBC EPFA 606 pads . They need temprature for it to work but works really well. Been using them since 2015 KTM rc 390.
Yeah, I don’t think the resale will be good but I have no intention of parting with the 401. I added the Fuel-X Lite and it helps a lot. Also adjusted the chain. Bike is really smooth now at all reasonable RPMs. I like the brakes-no need to change anything there until normal wear calls for it. Thanks!

The 600 mile service is more than just the oil change ,they reset the ecu so you can go over 7000 rpm.
