You've really applyed what you learned and gleaned from last season - the field looks well prepped!!! for the plugs. . . . loved the drone footage at the beginning. Thanks for the great video.
You are the man farmer dre honestly you give me so much motivation to keep going im growing a feild of vegetable to all the way in New Zealand solid effort bro chur chur
We drove out to McNitt's last summer to pick up some plants. Great people. You definitely took on a huge project with all those strawberries, hang in there.
Great video...Like when you set the camera so we can watch the time lapse of things getting done....hope you video setting the strawberry plants..I have watched all your videos...
Great job on the bed prep! You really put a lot of time and attention to all the details! I think Moses needs one of those fancy Farmer Dre shirts and hats! Are you planning to frost cover these later for winter? I would like to hear your analysis on the different varieties Ben you aren’t so busy! Great job!
Put some sand bags on those discs or adjust the tilt of the disc. We had the same problem tho where I was having to adjust it Everytime I turned around. So instead of adjusting or having to set on it we just stapped a sand bag to it. And it helped enough and had brother with shovel fixing any bad spots and riding on the seat. And buy those center bed fillers from rainflow well worth $300 if we didn't have those we had same problem tractor couldn't pull enough to the center that gives it just enough to fill it in one pass and still make them firm.
@@farmerdre1 this is our first year using it too its a big learning curve for sure but we managed to get them layed. Just wasn't pretty lol. Hope the planting goes smoothly we plant bear root plants cuz we don't have the water wheel like u guys buy plan on investing on one soon so we can plant some plugs too and make it a little easier. So we already planted the bear roots last month but have the same planting date for the plugs in our area mid September to last week of September
Forget that whell... GPS and RTK... All the rest is crap. I got that experience too. I cannot afford a GPS system cause here a good one, (forget JD GPS that is crap), Trimble or TopConn costs like 18k € here... plus anual licence and GSM Data card... but it worth it. But as i said, i cannot aford it. But i had worked for contractors with that
I thought that guy looked familiar!! The first year we planted strawberries, we bought from them. They are very nice to deal with, but the shipping was too much to continue with them (we are in northeast PA). You didn't find success making the raised bed and laying the plastic at the same time?
We used Andy for our plugs here in Texas. Great plants. Say hi to Andy next time you see them. I'm looking at running my rainflo over the pre-laid up beds like you did. Did that work out ok? I normally just do a one pass mulch and bed with the rainflo but don't get the centered filled in favor of getting the edge of the mulch covered due to high wind.
Buy the center bed fillers they just bolt on to the rainflow. Or work the ground up more . You shouldn't have to make 2 passes. the point of the machine is to do it in one pass they make other machines that are probably cheaper that u lay the bed with one and lay the plastic with the other but the rainflow is a bedlayer and plastic layer. Read the instructions and get it setup to do it in one pass the seat on the back is for someone to set in to make the bed firmer and so they can change the plastic. Adjust the top bar on the 3 point lower or higher. And if it still isn't pulling enough dirt probably not worked up enough. Personally we still have alot to learn with our 2550 next year to make it run smoothly there are alot of adjustments. But the center bed fillers for it helped with the problem u and farmer Dre are having for us the beds are still firm with one pass u should be able to leave a faint foot print in the bed but not sink foot in it if the bed is firm enough
If you make the angle of your disks at the back less aggressive, they will dig deeper and throw more dirt on the side , find the right angle and you won't have to sit on them or add just a little weight
Hey Dre. We never got to know how you did the drip tape. Is it after this polythene or after. How do you ensure that you don’t puncture it when doing the holes? Is it one line or two??
Hi, That's some nice equipment. what's the track width of your tractor? I'm interested in buying such a machine but I'm not sure wether it will work with for my tractor.
Do you plan to burn these like you did last year to grow a second crop? Or will the u-pick operation last multiple years? It seems like a lot of work for only one harvest.
Hello sir I am Dinesh Dhakal from Nepal. I am a farming lover person. I always used to dream about working in this kind of farm. I love the all setup you did there. I am trying to get job in somewhere in farm like this. Sir if it's possible then will you please hire me in your farm as a farm worker. I promised that I will never let you down and give my best effort on my work as I am. I am really interested to work in your farm sir.
I do like your grass idea I let the weeds and grass get about a foot big and then I spray them we with round up and i believe it helps the wind not get inside and holds the soil together. Keep up the good work

12 acres!

No, strawberries need a firm raised bed and with one pass it doesn't work out great

Good job my fried, like
Do you add fertilizer now or wait for the irrigation
We put on dry fertilizer and we also feed through the drip
how many hands(or family) do you think youll need to hire for that size of harvest?
We are planning on doing U-pick

hi. What is the name of the machine that you are using and where can i get? Thank you for your help
How do you lay the drip tape? Before the plastic or while you laid the plastic?
Hi
Do you have any name on the driphose thats installed under the plastic?
I mean it has to be cheap with all those meters layed.
Thomas from Sweden
Why a 2600? What made you choose this model?
Hi,
That's some nice equipment.

I'm interested in buying such a machine but I'm not sure wether it will work with for my tractor.
How many passes before you lay your plastic?
