why not put a cover crop of clover in the middles.. it will serve 3 purposes of improving the soil , providing nitrogen,and providing a nice mat of clover to walk on in between the rows.

I have done that with mixed results.
How do give fertilizer to the vegetables? Broccoli takes how much fertilizer?

can you explain what NPK do you use for your Broccoli ? Also what is a good speed to lay plastic?
I use 34-0-0 and 0-25-25 with boron per soil test. I lay plastic at around 2-3 mph
