Caldari ships tend to be slower than their compatriots, and have a larger signature radius. they make up for this with massive shields and solid capacitor.
If you have cruiser skills wouldn’t it be cheaper to do it in a cruiser since you only need 1 ticket? Are rewards better for 2 destroyers or the same? I know destroyers move faster, but I feel the increase in dps on cruisers may be better.
on cruiser you get 1x rewards which on average is about 0.77M per run on tranquil difficulty on destroyers you get 2x rewards which averages to about 1.47M per run on frigs you get 3x the rewards for about 2.24M on average. so you should try going for the fastest clearspeed in ideally a frigate for the most ISK/h on my rocket hookbill i finish most T0 runs under 5 or close to 5 mins which averages out to about 26,4M ISK/h so while i use 3 dark filaments (each 65K) per run i spend 0.23M on filaments per hour which leaves me at 26,17M ISK/h on destroyers its 0.15M on filaments which leaves me on 17,49M ISK/h which is purely hypothetical since my destroyer runs usually tend to take a little longer than 5 min for cruisers its 9,17M ISK/h for 12 "5min runs" so to answer your question, ISK wise it would be cheaper to do cruiser runs, but the return is nowhere near the return you get from frigate runs. thanks for listening to my ted talk
As has already been answered, the loot scales based on the number of filaments used. If a run takes 15 minutes in a solo frigate, a destroyer needs to be able to do it in 10 mins, or a cruiser in 5, to make the same ISK. Cruisers are also more expensive and require deeper skills, which is a factor to consider also.
