Love those laughs and smiles, a great choice Ash! But there is only one beatboxer (Adam), and there are always 5 members. Adam Rupp, Chris Rupp (replaced by Adam Chance), Tim, Rob and Austin. Tim's running base is often mistaken for beatboxing as it expands the percussive sounds. Home Free is my fav vocal band!

This is such a fun video. Reminds me of the movie "Groundhog Day" where the same day is repeated over & over. Love Tim's super low bass in this one & Adam's beatboxing. It is so funny watching Tim getting all the extra drinks from Rob & the faces he makes. It is about being tempted but staying faithful to your mate. Drinking too much can let your guard down. In the end Rob goes home with his real wife who picks him up from the bar.
Love this. Home Free usually does upgrades. They’re so good. This video is so cute. It’s like the movie Groundhog’s day (with Bill Murray) where the day repeats over and over. It repeated for Rob until he didn’t drink anymore and could go home to his wife sober. Adam is the beatboxer. The others can beatbox up to a point but they could be layering their sounds. The guy in the ball cap is Adam Rupp’s brother Chris Rupp. He started Home Free back in college 2000. He left the group to go solo in 2016 and was replaced by Chance. Good reaction you two! 😄😍

It's Ground Hog day, every time Rob drinks his night starts over.
There are normally 5 of them, but only 1 is the beatboxer, Adam, but the others contribute their sounds into songs as well at times, especially the bass, Tim, you can hear him doing some low bass humming to the beat, so it may sound like beatboxing. Some of them have beatboxed before for short periods of a song when needed, but I don't hear anything but the bass and beatboxer in this one keeping the beat.

they often layer in the studio recordings, however, Adam uses a loop station live to layer effects.

What is so crazy about these guys is they all can beatbox. They have a video out there with them all doing it. This is why they are the best out there. Somebody can pick up the beatboxing with Adam rupp and they're harmonization is just on point.

nope, only 1 beatboxer , but Tim's bass is sometimes heard as another drum, and they do sometimes double track to flesh out the sound on a recording. They do this one live, though, so a second track wouldn't be available to them on stage - at least not back then. They do have a looping station since 2019(?) so they can record the boring parts on stage.

If you pay attention to the story of the video it mirrors the video "Groundhog Day" Rob relives entering the bar at around 9:46 as soon as he takes a drink. He remembers he has a wife that he has to get back to so he has to reject the temptation to drink alcohol to break the cycle.
It's only Adam Rupp beatboxing and Tim Foust is doing the bass.

No there are 5 members Tim Foust bass lert side(dark long hair). Behind him is Austin Brown (sky high tenor). Next is Rob Lundquist lead tenor ( beard and glasses). Then there is Chris Rupp baritone (founder of the group) who left the group in 2016. And the last guy is Adam Rupp the beatboxer. When Chris left Adam Chance took over the baritone part.
Ash picked a fun one, good job. I did find you talking about your job quite interesting. I've always been fascinated by the science and medical fields.

Home Free's collective sense of humor and lack of ego makes for great, fun videos. The "long legs" that pass them at the beginning belong to the woman sitting next to the man who sends Rob a drink - Tim's wife Jenika Marion. The woman who picks Rob up at the end is his wife Kelsey. BTW, they alll can beatbox to an extent.
PS - There's a live version (filmed by a fan in Scotland) called "Tim Foust's Vibration" - he literally shakes the venue . . . There are a couple of live videos where Tim breaks the sound system!
The guy behind Adam Rupp (beatboxer) was his brother Chris Rupp. Chris and Adam started the group around 2001. Chris left the group in 2016 or 2017 to pursue other avenues. That's when Adam Chance known as Chance was added.

This song is a lot of fun! I don’t know how this song was produced but FYI each don’t remember can beatbox when needed! This song is like the movie Groundhog Day… Just keeps repeating! The best thing is that It’s Rob’s Grill wife pick him up after a night out with the guys!

Though all of them beatbox in a few song, its only rarely. Adam Rupp is beatboxer and Tim Foust's heavy bass often sounds like beatboxing. The video takes after the Bill Murray movie Groundhog Day: every time Rob takes a drink they go back to the beginning when they first enter the bar. The 'long long legs' that go by belong to the blond sitting at the table when Rob get the shot, that's Jenika Marion Foust, Tim's wife and a great singer in her own right. The flirty guy with her is Eric Beugler, AKA Beugs. He's a good friend of Rob's and is his co-host in the movie review podcast called The Avid Indoorsmen. The lady who picks Rob up at the end of the video is his wife Kelsey Lundquist.

It has been observed that there are five beat boxers in Home Free, but here, I heard Tim with a solid bass rendition that could easily have been beat boxing as with many songs the bass maintains a constant rythym similar to drums which are regularly associated with drums. In their cover of Dolly Parton's 9 to 5 there is a clearer example of multiple beat boxers.

There's always 5 of them. And although there is a dedicated beatboxer, he isn't the only one making other than singing noises. Matter of fact, every one of them do, but not in every video. Oh, and, it's a video, not live, so the beatboxing certainly can be layered.
Just so you know, Adam Rupp (the Beatboxer) can layer his sounds and then they can add them later for Music Videos. Adam does this at live shows also, but it is still A Cappella. Plus, every member of Home Free can Beatbox some sounds., But Adam, he can do ALL the sounds. Just so ya know. It is like the band is singing, but in the videos, they are doing other thing. It is a Video. Great Post, guys.

Always five but you MIGHT be hearing the bass line (Tim) as extra beatboxing.
Live Adam (the beatboxer) will use a looper at times. In video's they do layer instead of the looper but everything they do is based on being able to recreate it live.
That guy in the backwards baseball cap is Chris, Adams brother and cofounder of Home Free. He has been replaced by Chance which, while I won't say is an upgrade, gives HF even more bass goodness. Chance can cover the bass line while Tim sings low, mid, or high lead or harmony and vice versa. All the members can do some sort of beatboxing but most of the beat is created by the "drums" and the bass and Adam covers the "drums" for HF.
