When the tv industry went on strike during the run of the show, all shows had to stop production, and industry employees went unpaid. The strike went on for many months. Conan paid his employees’ salaries out of his own pocket during this time so they wouldn’t be affected while unemployed. You didn’t hear of anyone else doing this. He has a reputation for being a good guy and standing up for fairness. His employees really enjoyed working for him.
Not to mention many of his employees and interns (Like John Krasinski) went on to have amazing careers because of the opportunities and mentorship Conan provided
He is by far the host with the greatest heart out of all of em, it takes a man like that to constantly make self deprecating jokes solely to make ppl laugh too.. a man with a heart of gold indeed!
I loved how he drove that crap Green Ford Taurus well after he got famous and had money.

When Conan moved from NYC to LA for his show, he personally paid the moving expenses of all of his staff that wanted to go with him.
I love when people watch the Conan in Korea and Conan in Japan videos.
One that would introduce his assistant Sona would be "Conan and Sona Meet With Human Resources". Also good are: "Conan Learns Korean and Makes It Weird", "Conan's Japanese Etiquette Lesson", "Conan Visits The American Girl Store", "Conan Hangs Out With His Interns", "Steven Yeun & Conan Visit A Korean Spa". For a couple of shorter ones I haven't seen anybody react to : "Conan Hits Comic-Con Mad Max-Style" (a 2:26 long show opening), and "Ricky Gervais & Conan Take A Bubble Bath"(4:46 - Which starts out with some weird Ricky photos).

The assistant in this clip who walks around with conan was one of the interns in the "conan hangs out with interns" clip. It was nice to see one of them later in the show.
Conan may not be Ash’s cup of tea but there’s a video essay about Conan and it shows how he is able to get some of the more introverted actors to open up in his interviews with those guests. Both he and Craig Ferguson are/were great hosts.
I went through electrical school. Screw what TH-cam viewers think of the videos. That will take care of you for the rest of your life. Here in the Bay Area in California I average $116 per hour.

In my job we get a 1%-3% raise every year. I was told by an HR person I’m friends with that to get 2% you have to be able to walk on water.
Is that cost of living raise? Cause if it is that’s low especially with the current administration. We got close to 5% the last 2 years but it’s usually 2-3% normally

We usually get a 2-3% cost of living wage increase every year but my company the past couple years for…. IYKYK reasons, we got closer to 5% increases.

Conan is brilliant and ridiculous. I would watch any of his antics that cared to react to
5:32 it was 20+ years ago, but the stuff he said was so vile it sank his career permanently. As a lesson, cooler heads prevail. Also, the US is pretty much on par with you guys as far as inflation goes (I think we have it a bit easier than you, and it's still unlivable) but a 10% raise is unheard of. However, Conan's staff were always paid very well, and he even paid them out of his own pocket during writers' strikes. He's absolutely a goofball, but he's legitimately a good person as well. Hard to come by, especially for a Masshole.

Inflation here is about 3 percent year over year continuing an ongoing decline from the high of 9% from about 2 years ago June 2022-- coming out of the pandemic with the supply chain problems and shift in demand from services to goods. US has had the best go of it regarding both inflation and employment (record low unemployment at about 3.8% since about 50 years ago).

Obviously Conan is playing a character, but he's actually a great boss. During the pandemic, he paid all of his employees 50% of their salaries out of his own pocket on top of the unemployment they were allowed to collect.
During covid all I got from my boss was "thanks for coming" followed by a sanitized handshake.
