I learnt to fade my own hair in the Pandemic and just got these.
Zeroed them out and I'm dead excited to use em 😂
The guards that come with them seem really good and accurate too, but i'll have to see.
Seems like such a jump up from my Chrome Wahl Chorded Clipper but the weight of that one seemed to kinda help,
so i'll have to see what it's like with a lighter clipper.

Dope, glad to see you're back and well. I was following your content 3-4 months ago and was wondering what happened. Also, I just copped the 2020c (in the mail) I went with the OGs first so I could eventually compare them - always liked the look and heard good things, and I'll probably end up getting these bad boys too. Have you used the originals? And if so - what stood out as a major defference? Thanks for the review🤙look forward to more content.

These are the first JRLs I’ve cut with, so I can’t really compare. I’ve always been intrigued as well. Seems like everyone who uses them only put out blurry cuts.

    How you start fade?
    Step i mean?
Click lever from closed to no 5?
And guide what number u used sir

Great review. I'm used to fading with Wahls, Stylecraft, Gamma, all of which have a .5 throw to them when they're fully opened. I know JRL, Andis have a wider throw. They open wider. Did you find you had to make any adjustments in your fading because of that? Not sure what system you're used too. I'm curious if an open clipper on the jrl is much more than a half.

Appreciate you watching. It’s a good question, and I probably should’ve touched on that a bit more..
Hopefully this makes sense, but personally, I don’t notice a difference or the need to change anything in my system (making sections smaller, etc.) if I’m just using the JRLS without any other clipper in the rotation.
Where I do notice it is if I’m using a different clipper and I come back with the JRLs to detail. Sometimes I’ll have to go down a notch or two on the lever to get to where I was on the other clipper. Not really an issue or anything, but I’d say that’s when it’s noticeable, at least for me.

@@vinocapelli great thorough answer. I purchased one yesterday and that was really my only question. That and whether or not the Wahl premium guards rattled on them. One guy doing a review said that they did on his. Thanks for the channel and response brother, I can't wait to get them in my hands 🤙

If I have to choose one machine just to style the beard at home with fade, which one do you recommend to buy: jrl onyx or whal magic clip gold?

    • @vinocapelli
      @vinocapelli  24 วันที่ผ่านมา +1

To be 100% real with you, if you’re only using on yourself and it doesn’t need to survive in a barbershop, I would go with the cheaper option. Probably the magic clips out of those if I were to guess. If I were you, I’d just get something professional grade and cordless and it should last you a lifetime since you’re not using it on a lot of people every day in a shop.

And if I don't have a problem with money and I'm looking for the best and most convenient wireless machine only for the old man, what do you still recommend?@@vinocapelli

Haha I probably should’ve included that.
Right now with what I have, I’d rate my Babyliss fx boost clippers, fx3 shaver, SC Sabers as starter level and my FX boost trimmers with OG gold blade as MVP level as well
