13 month old who was sick for a week and received a lot of cuddles then we traveled during the holidays and sleep was all messed up. Now we are back home and he is having so much trouble going to sleep at bedtime (and often waking up 1-2x/night) - he is on a one nap schedule, wakes up around 2:15-2:30pm, we have paid close attention to over/undertired wake windows but it just seems like he doesn't want to go to sleep! At 11-12 months he was going to sleep easily and usually sleeping through the night.
Hi mama!! We would love to help get things back on track! Would you mind emailing in to us at support@littlezsleep.com and we would love to offer some more guidance!! 💛 Becca
Wow I am so glad that we've been putting her in the play pen with her beloved shapes in the morning since she could sit up on her own! I did this basically so she could be safe and occupied while I get ready for work and getting her stuff together for day care. Never knew this was a thing. She's 14 months now amd I do notice that while she's happy playing she tries to get my attention a lot more and gets upset when I leave the room.
We sleep trained after the first phase (she got to the point where she would only sleep in the same bed as me). Now that we are in the 2nd phase (9.5months) she will briefly protest me putting her in the crib during naps, but rarely protests night sleep and sleeps 11 hrs straight. Sleep training saved my sanity and I'm thankful we did it.
My boy just turned 10 months, and is learning to walk! For the last few days he started protesting every sleep/nap at the tail end of the routine, almost like he is anticipating that we are about to put him down and leave. He had no issues going to sleep and hasn't protested in months. We sleep trained at 7 months. There also was the 4'th of July fireworks the other night that woke him up and he was screaming so I ended up rocking him for 20 minutes until the fireworks outside stopped. I am not sure if this is what threw everything off since it only happened once and nothing else changed about his routine, or if this is separation anxiety happening. Currently wakes 6:30am over the last week or two(before the fireworks happened), bed at 7 pm. Nap 1:9:30 and Nap: 2 2PM. Should I try stretching a wake window like you mentioned?
Hey, thanks for reaching out! Yes, at 10 months, your little one may need a wake window adjustment as you near the 12 month mark. Can you please copy/paste this to support@littlezsleep.com? Our team would LOVE to provide you with the best and most timely guidance! Thank you!! 😴
At the 9-10 month one! Started at 8 months actually when my son was teething + had first fever- was sleep trained already at 4 months and sleeping through the night- but when fever hit, his sleep got wonky and from there, he was right back to refusing naps and waking up 5-6 times a night!😵☠️ This one was a hard one to navigate but didn’t want the sleep training to go to waste- so finally when he turned nine months, I said no more and decided to sleep train again. It took more discipline and consistency, sternness (and heartache) on my end but after about a solid week, he’s finally sleeping through the night again and all but second nap is back on track.👏🏼 He’s still refusing to take his last nap and skips sometime- any tips on how to nip this one? Wishing I had this info sooner but now that I’m on the other side, I’m glad I went through it because I learned so much! Especially about myself.💔💪🏼🙏🏼 Such a helpful video even now- looking forward to applying all your tips for the 12 month one!😅🙌🏼 Thank you!
Hey there, Billie! Thanks for sharing your journey with us! At 9-10 months, your little one might need a wider wake window (by 15-20 minutes) before nap 2! I would give that a try for a solid 3-5 days. If you are still seeing protest, I recommend reaching out to our team at support@littlezsleep.com. Our team would love to troubleshoot more deeply with you! 💛
I have followed your course at 5 months and it worked well with really not much crying. Now at 6 months and a half, baby started crying longer and louder in bed, today we hit 1 hour of constant screaming, he really never screamed like this. He sounds so different and scared. After 1h I cannot let him cry more and nursed him to sleep. I really dont see any other way... what would you recommend please?
Hey there, Saulandy! It sounds like your little one may need a schedule adjustment. At 6 months, we recommend following a 2 nap schedule with 2.5/3/3.25-3.5. If you still experience a lot of protest after adjusting your little one's schedule, please reach out to our support team at support@littlezsleep.com! Our team would love to assist you further! 💛
At 4 months, she's likely hitting the 4 month sleep regression and is in the perfect position to sleep train! Her sleep cycles are maturing and she's needing to learn how to get herself to sleep and stay asleep all on her own! If you want to email us at support@littlezsleep.com, we'd LOVE to connect you to the right resources to make sleep a thing for you and your little one! 💛
Hello LZS 😊 What a great video - I’m sure this is very useful for a lot of parents out there ❤ We are almost at 12 months with wonderful twins, and never got around to sleep training, because honestly it’s just been about survival for us (illness, working parents, small apartment with difficulty to separate kids and not have them disturb each other) 😅 The kids have started daycare and have been so often ill lately from all the new exposure. But in the past few days my partner is no longer able to help put the boys to sleep with me, and they are very clingy for mummy and not that great at sharing mummy’s attention. They are slowly transitioning to 1 nap a day, but still don’t nap long enough, and also at the daycare they usually end up having 2x 30 min naps most days. We did try to sleep train a couple of weeks back, but it was mayhem 😢 So right now in our journey, we are trying everything we can think of, to make my partner again be “enough” for our children, and also waiting for when the boys have been a bit more consistently in daycare without sick days (we are now 2 full weeks in daycare since we started daycare 4th of September. So much is happening in their lives with daycare -learning to stand, evolving language and mimicking movements, that their little heads must be on constant overload 🤯🥹 I hope we will manage to get them on a beautiful sleep-schedule soon ❤️
