The main annoyance was the suppression especially in BF3. Although being suppressed is a strategy in real life, there's certain elements in games that are in real life that shouldn't be so annoying in regular shooters like Battlefield.

@@astartesfanboy5294 in all fairness since the gun is so heavy you really wouldn’t feel much recoil so it being chambered in 30-06 isn’t much of an issue, it’s the weight of the gun.
@ivar westra except that's how it works in real life. Very few people are strong enough to accurately fire a modern LMG from the shoulder.

They're a bit shitty but they do work... most of the time.
The issue is that the S2-200 requires hit & run tactics, which means your Bipod will literally get you killed fairly often using it

Call of duty: sprays into everything knowing there’s bullet penetration.
I get penetration kills in BF5 and I definitely spray😂

Havent played cod in a long time but i actually loved the mechanic, it added an extra layer of depth, like using a sniper and headshotting someone behind the wall or fucking up campers

This game is actually frustrating garbage, all bf5 is, is people spamming spotting flares and laying prone on the ground. EVERYWHERE. And it's just type 2a's. Tanks need a definite tweak, ecspecially the valentine, like dude. LMGs have always been good. The difference is you can’t see prone players in BFV
REPR3SENT IRL you wouldn’t be able to either. Stop being casual and learn to counter. Lay smoke prior to a push, push, while in smoke toss grenades, out of smoke fire your weapon. Violence of action is key to winning. All these pussies sitting back and worried about their K/Ds are the cause for a loss. Violence of action to overwhelm the enemy team works everytime.

This kind of makes me want to play Battlefield games again, I always loved playing the turret. Except my entire experience of Battlefield is just getting instasniped, so this gameplay is uncanny.

Honestly, they're fairly balanced. Now with the mmg being forced to bipod to ADS, it adds a whole new mechanic to the game that forces players to be stationary. This coupled with the insanely low damage per bullet(the majority shoot the same round as the snipers yet get a 3-4 kill) , makes them good for defensive play style. Snipers and grenades are amazing counters. Support is Strong but not unbalanced.
Imagine the uproar if the MG42 could be used like smgs with ads
Miraak tbh I’d quite like it, it would allow them to nerf the bipod mechanics without making the MMGs super hard to use and nearly useless. But it would have to have some serious balancing.
Its just annoying, a limbless fetus can go positive with mmgs literally all u do is press and hold down R2
When you slaughter 35 million people it’s not hard to go positive with basically any weapon in this game. I’d say although gunplay wise, maybe MMGs aren’t the hardest, but positioning matters a lot more - if you dump yourself in too high of a traffic area you’re getting knifed.
It depends on the game to be honest. In Battlefield 3 and 4 they were horrible because of the suppression as well as the fact that you can mount thermal scopes as well as suppressors to your MGs. The only good way to counter thermal scopes was to get the white DICE LA character skin, which made your character stand out like a sore thumb on non-winter maps.
One thing about BF1 and BFV that always broke the immersion was the fact EVERY round you fired was a tracer round. It literally looks like starwars... everyone shooting lasers.

I cringed when he chose the 1917 over the perino defensive. Perino defensive has such a smooth recoil pattern with that tripod
250 rounds. Case closed.
@@James_Philip915 have a nice 11 secs reload. With the perino "Top off reload" system you will seldom find yourself with less than 80 rounds in the mag. Also perino has a faster bullet velocity making it the better choice for ranged support gameplay.

2-4x scope tops the higher bullet speed for best range lmg. Beside that, 250 rounds give you more fire time, making it excellent to repel planes while engaging infantry. The perino top off reload is more of a gimmick, you'll have spend more than 10sec reloading the perino by the time the m1917 ran out of bullets.
Perino looks cool though
@@James_Philip915 Recoil patterns for the Perino are much more predictable in comparison to the m1917. Especially when you choose the up and left recoil variant for your gun. In regards to the remark about the marksman scope, if you need a scope for 25-75 meter engagements or for shooting at planes you are kinda leaning on the casual side of gameplay because players with more than a couple hundred hours of gameplay can hit those targets easy.
@@richardharden Dude recoil is almost nonexistent for both guns. The only advantage, I can see, for using the perino is the reload, if you're using it like a normal lmg instead of a long range defensive mmg. And the scope is necessary, other wise you limit your max range. you can shoot people as far away as you can see them, and maintain fully automatic fire with the m1917.

@@user-xp9jo2rv3q ehh, tbh I've made the experience that mid-long range is their only viable way of playing with them. I usually use(d) the suppressor perk and kept track of where my team is, so if I wouldn't get kills, I could atleast shoot in a general direction and get points and support the team by that.

In BF1 I enjoyed across the map, One time whilest a raging battle was going on at the empires edge map, Me and a random player were having a sniper battle against 3 others from across the map.

The only time I camp with MMG is when I need to finish my weapon Assignment OR I'm the defender in Iwo Jima 4th sector , but most of the time I'm offensive ... It's kinda hard to be offensive with MMG but it works when you got use to it

It would be possible, but you would probably go on your back from the recoil if you shot more than 5 bullets forcing you onto the ground.
@@StaleDoritoCrumb Actually in reality machine guns dont have any crazier recoil than regular assault rifles, the extra weight helps absorb the impact, it would just be hard on your shoulders to do it all the time
The lack of spotting made it op. In bf4 and 1 I could just spot you and a sniper would usually swiftly remove part of the your head. But spotting is considered easy baby mode to the people bfv was developed for and as such they get mmg/lmg campers that can kill with impunity.

As a prominent MG camper, I can tell you, a Type-88, bipod, and scope, is a sniper killer. MG-34, with AAA sights, and a solid squad, means no one gets through, and no one flanks. Pair it with an MG-42, a sniper, and a medic and forget it. Immortality.

I've always thought it's just a lack of perception from the people being shot. It's also just the job of an MMG to deny the enemy the ability to move across their line of sight. Tanks are supposed to support the infantry, and give them cover to be able to move through MMG fire. Snipers are supposed to counter snipe and kill machine gunners. Friendly machine gunners can suppress enemy machine gunners. Grenades are really useful for getting them to move position. There are plenty of counters to an MMG that the average player just doesn't think to use.

The last mmg camper i saw was like 4 months ago. I play bft daily and my prefered modes are conquest and breakthrough. But i never see them. There is just to many counters for them
Love how everyone is focused on mmg players but no one is talking about being 1 tapped halfway across the map with a Anti Tank rifle. Mmgs are very annoying and make the game less fun but I think other guns deserve more attention than a class that is going to get murdered with the new ttk changes in a few weeks.
Anti tank riffles are meant to kill tanks from a distance, it not supposed to kill people, that's why they are op. An elephant gun will f***ing destroy a duck, yes, but that's because it's meant to shot stuff usually bigger than ducks.... Same for anti tank guns

It became a Milsim when DICE decided to make it a WW2 game, because for a TON of people think WW2 games should be Historically Accurate. The BF Community can be cancer at times.
@@Mr-Hakim I think the main source of outrage in the Battlefield community was how the topic of historical accuracy was brought down. The man behind it had a conversation with his 13 year old daughter about why women weren't in wars (or something like that). He could've just taught her how laws and times were different back then, but instead he took things too far and pissed off a good chunk of a game franchises' community. But yeah I've seen my fair share of cancerous and toxic Battlefield players, whether it's from the servers themselves or just another TH-cam comments section.

Historical accuracy and Milsim are 2 different things. True BF players want an Arcade Game that LOOKS accurate. We didn't want women screaming like autistic kids or American Looking British Soldiers and so on and we didn't want a Milsim game. Also BF game were never Milsims. Maybe the originals where a little bit Hardcore but they used a different Engine and most "ancient" game mechanics wouldn't even work for todays standards.

emanuele barrovecchio I think people did ask for spread less weapons after BF1. The weapons have arguably more recoil than the ones on BF1 but are easier to control since the recoil isn’t so sporadic.

Found the MMG camper. If the MG42 had a 3× optic the game would have been even more broken. Snipers already are basically useless, having a 3x machine gun would render the Scout Class and Semiautos basically useless

MGs are some of the strongest weapons on a battlefield field. Caliber and range are only outmatched by sniper rifles. The downside is mobility and bad accuracy when not used from bipod/tripod/mounted positions. When I see SMGs/M-series/AKs with more damage in video games I automatically dismiss them. Except for SAW type weapons which use the same caliber.
