  • This time in the garage, we start making connections for the lighting system and the horn. The horn circuit in the M-Unit is what controls access to the programming for customization. The wiring is coming together nicely and the finish line is coming into view.

I know this was years ago but I used an M.Unit for a sportster chopper. Started with just a motor and a frame. I use an aftermarket simple speedo but I'd like to figure out how to use a stock one from 1999. Trying to figure out how to make it so I know when my signals are on and make the neutral light work.

Meter out the wires from the signal lights, identify power and ground, from the gauge and hook the input for the lights up to the output of the signal lights from the m-unit. make sure gauge lights are grounded. Trace out the neutral light and reconnect to gauge if it is not hooked up to the m-unit. Hope this helps.

What lift is that bike sitting on? I've got a chopper myself, looks about the same length as that one, always have a hard time finding a lift it fits on.

It's a lift from Princess Auto. The bike doesn't fit well, we have it blocked up in the back and strapped down.

The motogadget is best used when you have no electrical to start with. If you have a ECU you will have to make it turn on with the inputs and outputs other than that all the the lights etc.. will be like any other bike. If you have a stock wiring harness it's probably better to sort it out using that. Good luck!
