If it’s any consolation the JD fairing and lowers fit like complete and absolute garbage on a FXR too! They look good when done but jesus they make you earn it through suffering
Other than shimming the fairing bracket, did you have any issues mounting the bracket? In order for the holes to line up for me, I would need to notch the bracket to clear the fork stops.
I have the Fxrt fairing on my Dyna and ordered the lowers after 4 hours of trimming and shimming and throwing shit I gave up ! 250 dollar mistake! I love the look but shit just didn’t line up and looked like total ass where it meets the fairing and I’m not happy about it ! O well !!! Lesson learned
I was so pissed and bummed I just decided to cut my losses, I mean another few hundred and I could have gotten a way better kit ! Not to mention when I went to paint the fairing the amount of body work and primer to fill the pin holes was insane , going gloss black was a bad idea , looks great now but took so many hours
Wonder if that FXR fairing kit is made for the dyna with mid controls ..... aaaaand just rebranded to fit any other bike , one fairing fits all . That is really a shame , i think it would have looked killer with the full FXR on it but when the company sucks and you can make them fit what else can you do .
I’m sure with a lot more cutting I could’ve gotten them to fit, but they wouldn’t have looked how I want. It is what it is. The fairing by itself looks awesome anyway haha

Haha they do look damn good, but I’m glad I’m not the only one that had fitment issues.
Man that sucks, but glad to see it coming together
Yessir! Just need all this damn ice to melt haha
You can shim your headlight up or down within the fairing using washers on the bolts to adjust it up and down. Also the lowers fit fine for me
What floorboards do you have? There was no way the JD lowers would fit without some serious modifications, and that came straight from JD themselves
@@NattyBumppo stock floorboards fits fine

The video covers all the issues I had.

Was it a JD kit?
@@NattyBumppo yes it was ! Total loss !

@@Oneshotkustoms yea man, I’m gonna repaint mine this fall. Going to redo the whole bike.
Can’t wait to see it !
Just installed a jd fab fxrt fairing on my 2016 roadking with absolutely no fitment issues. Tons of clearance. I dunno why rwd cant measure lol
Midcontrols?
Nope. Just regular controls on this one. Keeping it comfortable for long trips.
I’m going to be posting the final video as soon as my computer gets it’s shit together haha

I think it looks better without...
Without the lowers?
@@NattyBumppo Yea. But opinions are like assholes...
@@Jimmy_Jim_Jim_1234 haha true. I thought I’d like the lowers, but I’m really digging the fairing only so far
Jesus Christ. For $1500 might as well make your own.
Good luck
