that you already have done we in Pakistan mostly focus on Muslims and freedom movement against british and to some extent sikhs as the partition of Punjab was done to keep Punjabis political power divided we do not read about hindus we consider them as they were on the against muslims throughout and there politicians were un tryst worthy they always played the politics and made it complex

Appreciate your efforts. Want to add some facts In contradiction to your piece.
Except some portions in southern tips, whole sub-continent was legally in Mughal Empire till 1857. Both Marathas and British (in Bengal) were operating under Sanad from Emperor Shah Alam. Yes, they may be transgressions beyond their legal authority. Emporer being weak, cannot confront these. But that is a different point. In 1857 wars, many Maratha Chieftains consider Bahadur Shah as commander against the British forces. A good part of the southern India was sublet to Nizam. Nizam was preferring Wodeyars (as they were not that ambitious) over Tipu-Hyder. Negotiation with Marathas was not moving as expected. British know Tipu will not bow down to Nizam and biggest competitor to British ambitions in South.
So, the kingdom of Tipu-Hyder was an illegal one. So, he tries to get some international recognition by reaching out to Ottomans and French..
Personally I feel that was a bad move. He should settle issues with Nizam and British. He was an intelligent and sensible person, he could help Indians ina better way. As british intellectuals becoming active and empowering natives. It would be a different game if a person like Tipu would alive in 1820s and in power.
no it was was maratha who controlled whole subcontinent and mughal empire was reduced to dlehi only, it was marathas resposibility to protect delhi throne from outsiders thats why they were paying taxes to marathas mughal empire started declining after 1700 after aurangzeb death 1709 itwas reduced to delhi only in 1740,

Mentioning Hindi in the title is important as it will help attract the hordes of Hindutvas who will spew endless venom and insults but also help generate some extra viewership, and definitely income. It was once Urdu only, the language of Muslim royals, aristocrats, intellectuals, leaders and poets, now it’s Urdu/Hindi, and one day it will be Hindi only. Punjabis will give the same treatment to Urdu they have given to their mother tongue Punjabi. The history of Punjabis start with Mir Jafar and ends with Tipu Sultan. Are they interested or know anything about the history of their own land?

That's a very simplified analogy.. I don't think that exactly was the case and to govt country completely it one need a very complex strategy which britishers applied across their colonies not just in India.. and India was the one country which made the Britishers leave our land... They didn't leave Zimbabwe.. Kenya.. South Africa even after 2nd world war.. Didn't give autonomy to Australia and New Zealand till this day..

Remember that Haider Ali, the father of Tipu Sultan, was a general in the army of the earlier Hindu kingdom of Mysore who had forcibly dethroned the Hindu king. In 1799. British restored the kingdom back to the Hindu king after the demise of Tipu Sultan. Muslims and secularist Hindus till recently have celebrated Tipu Sultan as a great patriot as he fought the British, but under the present resurgence of Hindutva it is increasingly realized that like Aurangzeb he persecuted Hindus and demolished scores of their temples. In fact, even after the Third Battle of Panipat when Hindu Marathas were defeated by Abdali, they still remained the greatest political force in India in the later half of the 18th century. Marathas were finally defeated by the British only in 1830s.
