It is really hard to imagine how many Grand Slams Federer would have won if they had not started slowing down the hard courts and grass courts. His game was perfectly suited to the fast courts....he could handle them, it was everyone else who could not.
@@allboutthemojo ok.i cant say nothing about sowing down of surfaes, caurce i never play tournaments. i know ATP want to introduce 3 Type of Ball : Small Ball,Nomal and Big Ball for different surfaces.but i dont know what happend later.that was in 2001-2002.But i dont know exactly what is happend.
Fed's ballstriking was really different back then in comparison to the last ten years of his career. He was much more of a powerplayer back then and his shots had more depth and pace. He just blew you off the court with his accuracy and clean hits and he was never overpowered by his opponent. His fh swing definitely changed but I wonder if he changed his string tension as well.
His ability to move and stretch on the forehand side and let it rip was effortless then. His footwork worked like it had a mind of its own. These days he's so vulnerable that side. That forehand has become so erratic now!
Kiefer had a small chance in this match, as did haas, and Davydenko. Roger was not fully fit but still gutted the matches out. Baghdatis was not really slam champion material so I don’t mind him missing his opportunity.

they had started to slowing down since 2001.may be earlier.
@@allboutthemojo Are you sure, that the slowing down of the courts started only at 2010.Becaurce everybody says it started at 1997-1998.

This court is not fast. Even the commentators in this video called it slow.
Jackson Greene faster than today’s
Just passing through on my journey to watch every Federer match.
8:00 monster kick in second serve, wow!
1:07 fun house indeed😍😍
I was looking for this comment lol

srinitaaigaura it isn’t erratic at all, he just can’t move as fast so he can’t get in the right positions anymore as often to really whack balls.
@@goxaviergo11 It might have gotten worse this year because of that knee problem.
Fed's fh was a force of nature back then. So much depth, pace, control. Unreal
If laver said he was the best player ever in 2006 imagine his level in 2018
in 20017 he played better.
@@thebigmonstaandy6644 he was pretty old in 20017, about 1835 years old. Legend has it he started his career 3726 times again. He's truly a legend!
@thebigmonstaandy6644 He was 18036 years old and close to retirement back then. He played much better in 15725, that was by far his best year.
Can you please upload the whole game?? PLEASE? Or share the link to the whole game?

Baghdatis is one of the few players who didn't dope, so he was very deserving.
Bageler
Djokovic is a more complete player than Federer
Again Djokovic isn’t in this video always something to compare to Federer
Currently yes because Federer is retired... Peak Federer is superior in almost every aspect of the game, especially on hard and grass courts.
