Felipe Queiroga Fed's forehand was only in the state shown above from mid-2004 to 2006. Basically with the n-Code his forehand was the best shot of all time.
TheSaxophoneMan16 Exactly. His forehand started to change from 07 onwards. In 07 he hit with much more spin and not nearly as flat, then it continued in that direction in 08 with a huge loss of pace. His 04-06 FH was the greatest of all time.
TheSaxophoneMan16 Agreed, I meant it changed FROM 06 to 07. I guess I worded that strangely. What do you think caused the drop off? I think a lot of it was intentional - he wanted more spin to get that elusive RG.
I guess Im asking the wrong place but does anyone know of a way to log back into an Instagram account..? I somehow forgot my login password. I appreciate any help you can offer me

My opinion - Hewitt would be more tough opponent for Federer (and Rafa & Nole) if he... could be physically stronger. He was SUPER fast, he had SUPER fighting spirit, he had fantastic serve return, technics, volleyer skills, BUT... He was physically weak. If he would have better and stronger serve, more powerful forehand and backhand, he could be competitive against BIG3. The game in general also improved while Lleyton was at the top. Guys were playing with a little more power, partly thanks to advances in racket technology, but fewer of them were playing into Hewitt's hands. Lleyton liked having a target near to the net, thanks to his speed and counterpuncher skills he destroyed volleyer`s game (Hewitt 9-1 Henman, Hewitt 3-1 Rafter, Hewitt 5-4 Sampras), his game was suitable against serve&volley players, but in his era guys (even tall and powerful like Cilic, Monfils, del Potro) stopped coming to the net and prefered to long rallies from baseline. But Lleyton did not have a powerful shots and he did not win a lot of points from baseline by himself. Hewitt was a victim of his time. If he would be 10 years older and his main opponents would be Sampras, Rafter and other s&v players, he could make even better career than Agassi, but against BIG3 his style was not suitable.
To those who think Feds forehand is bigger here have to understand that Hewitt doesn't hit a big ball like Nadal or Djokovic so it gives Federer a bit more time to line up his shots.
Was about to say 'oh no not another annoying video where the commentators speak over the action'.....then I realised it was Italian with the 'Mama Mia's' and everything; I think could listen to more Italian commentary if I'm being honest!
Penso che questi video sulle vittorie di Federer commentati da Clerici e Tommasi siano una delle esperienze più belle di youtube di sempre
E se mettessero proprio tutte le partite commentate da loro sarebbe l'estasi pura!
Look how amazing Federer's forehand was! I miss it. I think that's the biggest difference between the 2003-2009 Federer and the actual one.

gumbo Completely agree. However, it changed in 07, not 06. In 06 it hit his peak. By far the greatest shot of all time.

Gianni Clerici is a brilliant journalist and writer. His commentary is without equal
Chissà perché lo scrivi in inglese però. Io un idea ce l'ho.

RF forehand whip in full effect. Also due to a lot faster court than nowadays.

The commentary is so funny

Fed was having his way in 2003, 04, 05, 06, 07, 09, without much challenge. That's why I love seeing Djokovic do that to him since 2014.
Djokovic now has no rival only next gens that are not able to beat the elders
