Brake clean … that’s a must to clean the rotors before installing the hardware

nah.... I take new installs 70+ down a steep hiway exit nearby, burns anything everything off the rotors some sets smoke at the bottom lol... sometimes 2 runs if they smoke.

What about the electronic brakes? Did you put in service?

I usually 1) clean the hub and add some anti-seize 2) put some lube on back and ears of the brake pads 3)clean and lube the Caliper pins. Black Rotors look nice. Like you said we'll see how long that lasts. Slotted and drilled should cool the brakes quicker and provide more efficient braking. Thanks for posting

I dont recall if I lubed anything. the car is too new and isnt suffering winter salt chemical corrosion nightmare yet lol. I did anti seize on the pads etc pins were all ok. if it was my 03 crown vic then i pour a bucket of grease onto a blanket and press it through the rims leaving a huge glob of grease protecting all the suspension brake lines bolts and well make the brakes not work but im kidding anyway

Great video! I personally think, that’s where Acura kind of cut cost. The brakes, because they suck imo. How’s those R1 brake rotors holding up?

they are doing good. drilled slotted can roar when hard breaking but it can be ignored. I do R1 Concepts on all my cars. startn with Crown Victoria to my SQ5

great video! I am having some trouble on the rear calipers. It took me 1 hour to finally get the rubber h7 out with a T45 didnt have h7. I am now stuck on the 2 bolts which have been over torqued by a crazy amount. I am getting a breaker bar tomorrow, but i just dont have any room to get to the 2 metal bolts. How did you do it?

which bolts? the 2 large ones holding the caliper? ill either put my leg under the wrench and lift with my knee thigh area, or Ill put a pipe on the wrench handle to extend it aka poor mans breaker bar but pipe lets you adjust length or Ill hold the wrench tight to the nut and hit wrench with 5lb short sledge hammer

I show exactly how I took off the rear caliper bolts off and it wasnt with a socket. 9:42 ratcheting wrench. front calipers I hit with 5lb hammer 4:51 if back were overtight I wmould just hit wrench with 5lb hammer
