I had the key “problem”. It turns out in my case that the metal from my phone and wallet would interfere with the signal. If you can have a dedicated pocket for your key it is significantly more reliable.

Regarding the door not unlocking.. I found the issue has to do with NFC interference. Make sure key fob is not in the same pocket or purse as your smart phone, and you will have no problem unlocking the door.

To be fair, the 10AT transmission is mechanically reliable. Limp mode is not caused by the transmission itself, but rather, it's caused by an electronic module either overreacting to a small fault or making a false-positive determination, and taking control based on what the module determines. Other Hondas that use the same 10AT transmission have not had limp-mode issues as widespread as this.

The 3rd gen had the most issue since it’s a new model year. I still have the RDX and with 33K miles and loving it. However, I no longer buy another Acura or Honda. BTW, I still own a 2014 Honda Sport with 66K miles. I purchase a new 2023 Lexus GX 460 Luxury and will never go back.

Ok. Limp Mode is not a a problem per se, it is a response from the car system to protect the vehicle and the driver, resulting from another problem the car might have, and it is very rare to happen. Last time I experienced it was in a Hyundai Accent 2007.

and squealing brakes and popping joints in the panoramic roof and sudden safety sensors going off all at once with malfunction warnings and the infotaiment system turning off and not working and a sudden, unexpected release of the break hold feature when auto-starting after a short stop allowing the vehicle to move forward. Have a 2020 RDX. Love it but have had many of these issues. The Apple car play issue is "solved" by making sure the phone is not connected to the USB until after the infotainment system has initiated itself (roughly 10 secs) when starting the car. Not really solved but a work around. Acura has not been able to fix (as their recall did not fix the problem). I've had it in twice and it hasn't been fixed. The key fab thing is annoying as well. Not sure if its because it's being interfered by my phone but usually I have to remove the fab from my pocket. The slowing down of the vehicle by the radar when on ACC is extremely frustrating and you never know when it's going to kick in. All in all it's a very comfortable car and I haven't had any mechanical issues and I'm over 85K. Maybe the computer needs to be a bit smarter. Going to change the brakes this week as I'm starting to feel a bit of rotor warp. The RDX replaced a Lexus 450h and couldn't be happier.

Top 6 to add! Try having all the hazard lights flashing all at once! Due to a malfunction with the turbo. Come to find out the code that pulled up had nothing to do with the turbo… just an electrical problem. Got that fixed not even a month later same situation. Showed up to the dealer and all codes miraculously 😅disappeared?! What a joke it’s been.

Transmission issues is not minor. And for a vehicle from at most 2019, that screams poor quality and design. But Honda is no stranger to transmission issues. My 2020 RDX has had one problem after another.
The brake pads and/or rotors have been changed multiple times and still make noise.
The sunroof makes loud pops on uneven roads and even minor bumps.
The front control arm rattles on uneven roads.
The rear hatch glass spontaneously shattered.
The rear hatch would make a loud pop upon opening at below freezing temperatures.
The infotainment system started making a persistent ticking noise due to wires that were too short.
The engine oil gets diluted with fuel, especially in winter.
Will be saying goodbye to this vehicle before the warranty is up.

If problem arises as you say they might then in 3 years I will simply give the car back to the dealer and try something new.
    Thanks for the information.
So far so good except at McDonalds drive through. The first day I drove my new car as I reached for my wallet; my left knee touched and put on the secondary park break button. So that left me bewildered for a moment. Why 2 park break buttons is beyond my comprehension. I understand the need for an emergency break; but not 2 park button. Acura I think you screwed up there.
