2021 Haval H6 2.0T Lux - POV Test Drive - When the vending machine gives you 2 for the price of 1!!!

  • Well, I walked around this car and could not wait to get behind the wheel.
    Did I get impressed by the performance?
    Let me say, Its the first Haval I have driven that felt like its not only made for comfort but also to perform on the road. Easy to wheel spin as the throttle is sensitive to the power it throws out but with a little understanding of the machine you get to ease on it as it allows.
    It seems like Haval worked on comfort for a number of years and now they are fine tuning the engines and transmissions responses.
    When I 1st heard of the numbers 150KW and 320NM of Torque I was like maybe its only to manage the weight but it felt lighter than even the small sisters Jolion and H2.
    The level of comfort and performance are unmatched at this price range. I would recommend you go check it out and if you want or need a SUV, I do not see any reason why not buy it. This is a complete vehicle which is not necessarily perfect but will make you and your family smile from the technology, drive and comfort.

    Another great review bro. May the channel grow from strength to strength.
    I test drove this about 2 months ago but ended up financing for a Jolion. Glad to say after a combination of poor communication from the dealer and the wife test driving the H6, we decided to switch to ther H6. Now the wait, again...
    But awesome car. Haval is here, competitors beware! As we say in SA, Danger, Gevaar, Ingozi!😄

    I must say that I was never into the "Haval" vibe happening, until I bumped into your channel and started to understand that this is actually value for money, with an equally nice looking car. The way you do the review, I feel like I'm in the car myself, and now I keep seeing myself looking at the H6 every time it passes me by and have made my mind that I should go and get one for myself.
    You are doing an excellent job with this channel, and I believe a lot of people will benefit from it; and the fact that you take time to engage us on the chat line, means you care about what you are doing.

    The tech is great and Haval has proven that cars do not need to cost as much as they do. The only thing I maybe see why it costs less is because the underlying engineering needs a little more polish such as the fuel consumption (and therefore the engines) as well as the feel through the steering wheel. I test drove a Jolion for example and on the paving I could feel it through the steering wheel. Now I know you can not compare it to a Mercedes but I could not feel that paving through the steering of my Mercedes. So I think they need a little bit more engineering polish although most people won't notice. Otherwise I love these new Havals. The other carmakers should be scared especially since they make everything optional which is standard on a Haval.

    • @autopathos
      @autopathos 2 ปีที่แล้ว

      Being able to feel the road through the steering wheel is considered a good thing. Completely numb and uncommunicative steering kills the driving experience.

    • @SDav21
      @SDav21 2 ปีที่แล้ว +1

      @@autopathos You don't understand. There's a difference between knowing what the wheels are doing and a communicative steering wheel versus one that just isn't isolated from road imperfections. It's not good when you feel yourself driving over a stone. That constant steering wheel vibration gets tedious on long journeys.

    • @autopathos
      @autopathos 2 ปีที่แล้ว

      @@SDav21 I do understand. We just have different preferences. Of course it will not be as refined as a Mercedes that costs 5 times as much and it obviously isn't communicative like a 1990s hot hatch rack and pinion setup, but I don't find it tedious to get some sort of feedback from the ground, even if it's not perfect. If completely reasonable also to think that it is like that by design to address the many complaints about numb, anesthesised steering in many Chinese cars.

    • @SDav21
      @SDav21 2 ปีที่แล้ว

      @@autopathos I don't think you do. You can have a communicative steering without feeling the vibrations. That's just bad damping. Not about communicative steering.

    • @sebuwam
      @sebuwam  2 ปีที่แล้ว +1

      True. There is still some work to be done to make their products get to the like of Merc. One thing they get right is comfort so far and they are improving on the driving experience on their latest models. For what you pay for, its reasonable to expect those imperfections which is why I believe its not easy to pick up.

    • @sebuwam

      It was a short drive and the experience was totally different. Even with the H2 when it was new it felt like the brakes need to wear down a bit so they can stop better. Test drove both the 2wd and the AWD , the AWD handles the power way better - no wheelspin and torque steer , I agree with you the power and torque seem to be too much for the 2wd model (reminiscent of focus st and mazda mps torque steer and wheel hop) , for anyone seeing this just spend the extra 20k and get the AWD...............if you can find stock that is . Anyways managed to find an AWD Lux and will be taking delivery tommorow!!

    • @sebuwam

      Haven't driven the AWD as yet but I bet its way better as the 2WD really needs you to be suffering from putting the power down. Yep, but as the intention is just to keep you in lane, if you activate lane keeping assist and adaptive cruise it will basically drive itself but you need to keep your hands on the steering wheel more often as it will not keep at it forever.

      Most importantly its new tech to the brand and you always need to be very careful with it and not rely on it too much as it is not perfect.

    There only problem i seem to have here is that the infotaiment is angled on the opposite side so if u driving u may feel like u are twisted bc infotaiment is a bit on the passanger side bc china is left drive so they did not plan this well. In S.A the driver is on the right it feels like they just took the steering and put it on the right and left the infotaiment angled on the left. Otherwise i enjoyed testing this last week but that infotaiment angled on the left is just letteing me down. Didnt u see that or feel like i did sir ?

    • @sebuwam
      @sebuwam  2 ปีที่แล้ว

      Hi Sydwell, I actually did not notice that, maybe its because I did not try to reach the screen often as Bruce was assisiting me with all the tech. Usually I use that to gauge how easy and how usable is buttons and screens when driving.

    What's the difference between the lux awd and super lux ?

    • @sebuwam

      Super Lux has the following in addition to the Lux: bigger rims (19"), auto tailgate, wireless charger, power outlet in the boot, lumbar support, blind spot detection, rear cross alert, lane change assist, head-up display, 10 speakers instead of 6, rear privacy glass, heated exterior mirrors and it only comes as a 4wd (Lux you can get 2wd or 4wd)

    Help a brother choose here.
    Haval jolion or a Kia sonet?

    • @sebuwam
      @sebuwam  2 ปีที่แล้ว +3

      Its a tricky one and here is why:
      If I can afford the Jolion Premium/Lux, I will take the Jolion over the Sonet anytime.
      It will get tricky if I am looking at the Jolion City (R299K) and Sonet EX (R310K)- as much as Kia is less powerful its still a great car all round and looks great. Jolion is a great car but the lowest spec has a challenge in that you only get a manual and people don't necessarily love manuals these days. So if you can't go beyond R310K Kia might win on that you get it with a CVT transmission. Otherwise if I can afford anything above that, I will take the Jolion.
