Chevy Silverado Window Switch

Left my windows open last night and woke up to them no longer working. Just took it out and replugged it back in and now the work again! Couldn’t find any other video on how to remove this switch, thank you so much. Saved me $150

On my Yukon XL the front of the switch panel is held on by a small bolt. This would indicate removing the door panel. In my case, the mounting broke, so I superglued it back in place and then cut a slot in the door panel for the bolt/washer to slide into. Contacts are easily cleaned with a clean eraser on a pencil This worked and restored my door locks and mirror switch. Good video.

Thanks for the comment. I sometimes add music when I have a clip I've sped up. Sometimes I just leave the noise of the sped up clip. Just depends on the mood I guess. Lol

I know this vid is a little old but wanted to let people know you can change the buttons on the switch. No worry about you crappy painted on replacement just switch em! ;)

Idaman71044 what im saying is you could take the painted on buttons off the one you bought and use your old buttons on it.

Darrell Roireau oh I see what your saying. I have a cleaner called acrysol I use at work that got it off no problem. It's great for getting grease and light stains off car interior. Use it mostly when get fingerprints on interior of car. Thanks for the tip on the buttons.

Junkyard guy was supposed to put that paint on the BACK side of the switch! SMH
Also, some of these switches have a screw on one end that comes off from the inside of the door panel, so door panel removal is step 1.

So I just need the trim piece. My switches work fine. I just wanted to make sure it was a trim with clips before I start yanking on it.

I have a 05 and mine had a little bolt at the top so removing the door panel was necessary, oops

You don't have to start the truck to make the windows go up and down

I know lol. The window motor is weak, with the engine running the alternator puts out more than the battery.

Yes, you are right, but if the windows are a little slow, more alternator electricity can help lift the glass.
