It makes sense from a lore standpoint too. A human warrior with no Templar training would realistically have no chance in a fair fight against a talented mage.
Considering that Branka's Golem reinforcements during the siege of Denerim can crush even multiple ogres, and Shale, despite being shrinked was a remarkable member of the Legion of Steel.... Yeah, Logain knew he was cooked lol
Even a little funnier since Shale is female so she would probably get a little mad for being mistaken for a "male" golem in a sense. If she even cares about that.
(Spoilers for The Stolen Throne): Shale is Wilhelm's golem, a mage that helped Maric and Loghain during the Rebellion... So Loghain knows who Shale is.
@@divaroma6554 Idk why you're mentioning a prelude to Dragon Age regarding Shale when the dlc for Shale is called the "The Stone Prisoner". And if Loghain knew who Shale is, then he would've either used the correct gender or mention something about like "I see you managed to get your hands on Wilhelm's golem" or "You expect a dwarf turned Golem to best me?"
@@divaroma6554I guess it's fine since DA:O came out before all this DEI stuff appeared. If this was Veilguard, Loghain would have "pulled a bharv" to apologise to Shale for the misgendering 🤣
Arl Eamon is a traitor. There I said it. He is completely fine with leaving the fate of the realm to a Golem, an Abomination, Apostate mage supreme, an atnivan crow (a faction that famsuly doesn't break contract and was last hired by Loghain), a drunk Orzzamar dwarf, literally an Orlesian saboteur or a still active, on duty Ben-Hassarath spy, but not a Mabari, icon of land and country? It's on their sigil for Andraste's sake. Letting a Mabari duel for the throne would be the most fereldan shit ever.
If he won, I wonder if Loghain would be happy or insulted. Actually- Would people even take it seriously. History books would be great, King Loghain then beat the mabari of the opposition party, and claimed the right to lead all of Fereldan...
Alistair: Fitting, since he's going to be king Zevran: Hilarious, since Loghain hired him to begin with Wynne: low key itching to kill the fuck out of him Sten: wants the weird foreign jabber to stop Oghren: same, also his ass fell asleep Shale: Loghain regrets letting you choose Morrigan: extremely irritated Leliana: beating his ass with an Orlesian is RUDE The Dog: overruled in a fit of logic and lack of patriotism. Damn you Arl Eamon! You: basic AF, but no judgement
Feel either contradictive or he has very wrong information to say that "anyone with a bone can buy a Mabari's allegiance" when Mabari are known to be very loyal hounds.
I remember making saves at different stages of the game just so I could replay and choose different options. This games was awesome. I wish we had something like this now.
Sten's "Finally" is surprisingly intimidating. A man of few but VERY effective words. Also I was actually able to have Loghain fight my dog which is such a great insult! "You aren't worthy to die by my hand. You're just dog food!"
One of my favorite things to do here is play a human noble. You do that and you can become King of Ferelden yourself so long as you either side with sparing Logain's life or aren't the one who decides his fate. The problem is that if Logain lives then Allistair is pissed at you and leaves your party and becomes a drunk. So what you need to do is get to this fight, choose Allistair as the Champion. And Allistair will always kill Logain with no input from the player. Because the game doesn't flag you as the player who killed her father, you can still marry Anora and become King of Ferelden AND Allistair then becomes the figurehead of the Grey Wardens while really you still control them. Meanwhile because your marriage to Anora is in name only, Morrigan is still down to be your romance interest. Win-Win-Win all around.
That's neat actually. I always tended to let Alistair get pissed, since I agree with most of Loghain's reasoning for his actions + Anora makes for a far better queen. However the ability to both marry Anora and keep Alistair alive and well is pretty damn cool.
How dare he suggest our Mabari would sell out for a bone?! Is he secretly working for Orlais?! He is so anti Ferelden I was stunned no one called him saying something so anti Ferelden
@@silver7knight389 Agreed, when i played i always got the hero of ferelden, but now i think Alistair is the right choice to avenge Duncan and his brother, and to prove himself as king. Especially if Hof is human, they already got their revenge on Arl Howe.
If we are talking lore wise then: Alistair if you want him to become King. Alistair would look like a joke in the eyes of Fereldens if he made the HoF fight all of his battles. Honestly it would also probably increase the rumour that Alistair is just a puppet for the Wardens considering that the hero becomes the Warden Commander of Ferelden. Especially considering that Alistair gives the Grey Wardens an Arling which increases their political relevance and sets a precedent. Now that I think about it. I think Alistair can also give you a boon to literally give you a teyrn from Loghain and if you are a cousland that basically gives the couslands control over the entirety of Ferelden. Meaning that the Grey Wardens are ruling nearly everything in Ferelden. Hero of Ferelden otherwise. Especially if he becomes prince/king consort since it would show his strength if he won against Loghain. Especially considering the Loghain is perceived as a tactical and military genius by the people. The hero beating him would add a lot of prestige to him and justify his claim to the throne even more. That is unless you want to kill Loghain then Alistair would be the only option if you still want to be prince/king consort. Gameplay wise my hero of Ferelden always ends up as the strongest character there. Maybe because I don't really micromanage my companions as much. But I don't really see the point in picking anyone else.
The irony that Ferelden is depicted with the Mabari but they don't let it participate in combat
Because they are more worried the mabari gets hurt then human gets killed, plus lighting loves too much mabari he would surrender immediately!
I don’t know why, but I love the thought of Wynne beating Loghain’s ass in front of the landsmeet
