Classic Sonic got the idea to boost from his future self, but it took him a while to master it. He would eventually learned to do it, but only in his Super state. Had he learned how to boost in his base state when it came to Perfect Chaos, he would've dominated.
Even if we had succeeded in completing the game without Bosting, that wouldn't have solved the Bootstrap Paradox. The skill obtained by beating the game is to give Classic the Homing Attack, meaning _that's_ what he learned from his older self.
I hate to be that guy but ummm ACTUALLY technically you do not unlock the homing attack for beating the game, you unlock the homing attack for classic by getting all 5 red rings in Planet Wisp Act 1
@@DrRankthat’s fair I was gonna say that either version could be partially canon (since the burst wisp makes an appearance in colors ds) but generations 3ds establishes that the game takes place before the birthday party.

To be fair, I wouldn’t consider the shadow boss fight to be a boost, since it doesn’t record a button press. The game does that on its own. Sadly, I think the eater does still qualify as a boost

Honestly I don’t know why there is so much hate edit the classic sonics sections in generations honestly loved them they were not as good as the peak for 3D but the spin dash being so op made it super fun
question for the super sonic fight. Did you try doing it without doing the weird charge up attack that's useless? That slows you down so maybe that's why.

Updated textures and models, new voice performances, altered script, an alternative control scheme that mirrors Frontiers, Chao to collect in each stage, and both Sonics have the Drop Dash now. If a rerelease changes anything more than the button icons, it's not a port anymore.
@DrRank A remake is when the game is created again from the ground up. This clearly isn't the case for Sonic Gens (2024). It's a remaster for modern consoles with some extra stuff. Majora's Mask for the 3DS is a remake, given that it rebuilt the entire game. Wind Waker HD for the Wii U, however, isn't and is a remaster (even if it did add some new stuff.)

All 3D Sonic games since Unleashed have used the Hedgehog engine, but everything from Forces onwards uses the updated Hedgehog 2.
